  1. My thoughts are with the very fishy camp. Bidding ends, you pay. How would this supposed punter know that it had been paid? How would he know the guys address? Why would the guy hand it over without proof or contacting you. Did he leave feedback for you? The guy is at it!
  2. I love to see/hear buskers playing on the streets.
  3. You haven't met the "bums" in Glasgow then. A mixture of pissheads and organised rip off gangs. None of the designer homeless that you see on all of these "heartwarming" videos on Youtube.
  4. I used to get so cheesed off with people who would talk to me whilst I was actually playing AND singing!......... "How are ya doing man? Any chance you could play any Coldplay for my mate?" Then they would get all shirty when you didn't answer.
  5. I think you have landed on the wrong thread.
  6. I don't know but to me they look like they can actually play. Thats more than mime playing.
  7. I did mate but it was sad. It was late in his career and he was playing at a festival in Glasgow. He was out of his face on drink or something. He stumbled about messing up his parts and disappearing for long periods leaving the drummer and bassist to carry on. The set was cut short and he died not long after that. It was a sad end to a legendary performer.
  8. I spent ages learning that song and now its been so long since I have played it's fading from memory 😐
  9. Especially the other band members. They couldn't give a toss about the bass tone. I have found this out over the years. I was also the singer so relied on my mate (the guitarist) to step out front and give us a nod if everything was sounding ok. It was only when we had proper soundchecks and I could go out front too that I would say that sounds rotten and he would be like, it's ok. As long as his sound was good he was happy.
  10. this is what happened to me. We used to play Losing my religion. We had played it to death over the years. We never rehearsed it because we were playing so often and playing that song so much that we knew it back to front. One time I forgot it. We had to feign tuning problems and play another song. Strange I thought but thought it must be a one time glitch. Next time we played I forgot it again, then again and again. Finally I had to relearn it at rehearsal. It was a complete case of worrying I was going to mess up that made me mess up.
  11. You wouldn't want to be his guitar tech!
  12. Yeah, I can remember being chuffed that a band I was into had made it to the top of the charts and he was chuffed about it and gave the crowd plaudits for getting them there. They then played Run to the Hills. Thats where I must have got mixed up. I apologise for my mix up and thanks for that bud.
  13. I have vivid memories of him saying you got us to number one with this and I was sure it was number one at the time. I am prepared to be wrong as now I can't find any chart saying it was number one. My memory must be failing me.
  14. It was a number one. I remember it being number one and seeing them live and Bruce saying how you guys made us number one with this. Then they played it. No idea what chart it was.
  15. Well it got to number one so we are correct.
  16. Ive said this before. There is no such thing as shyte music. It's just that you don't like it. Someone else does somewhere else.
  17. Hands down, no arguments, THIS is the coolest guy ever. My ultimate man crush! 620641-20th_century_fox_home_entertainment.webp
  18. How about this Monsieur cool? Did the song with one of the best sounding bass ever!
  19. The guy is clearly very good but an annoying twatt!
  20. I would be first out the door. No doubting their ability but that is just horrific to my ears and I consider myself to have a very eclectic taste.
  21. No problem with the solo leaving a hole in the song. As said before, let the bass and drums do their thing. it's not thin it adds dynamics.
  22. Five Finger Death Punch are right up my street. I love their sound and the balance between clean and heavy vocals. I couldn't care less if their singer is a tool just as I don't care that Limp biz kit have a tool for a singer. Let's face it there is no bigger tool than Bonio but U2 have some good songs.
  23. I bought one of these. I could handle the neck dive ok as I loved the look so much but it was so underpowered. We played in two different tunings so I used two basses but changing to that I had to muck about with my amp volume. I sold it.
