  1. Phil Lynott and his black Precision bass although early in his career he played a Ric.
  2. And Holy Diver. There surely isn't much call for clerical industrial diving services these days!
  3. An offering perhaps? Maybe the unborn foetus of a camel held aloft on a burning spear. I hear they are suckers for that kind of affair.
  4. I'm more of a fudge finger man myself!
  5. What puts me off signature models is the garish stuff they put on them. The Steve Harris with West Ham badge 🤢 That Nikki Sixx with his name written on it 🤢. Why would anyone want to play with these on their guitars? I have a Geddy Lee Jap. and all that has is his signature written on the back of the headstock. Very tastefully done.
  6. Early evening would have fitted just as good. This is why Bonio is such a twatt!
  7. Yes! I mean that would be an ecumenical matter!
  8. I bet if Blancmange were really living on the ceiling and old Lionel shuffled past they might have a thing or two to say, 'ere, get out of it! Keep it down a bit mate, we're trying to watch t' telly and all we can hear is you shuffling' about!
  9. It is clearly about a party that I went to when I was young that got gatecrashed by some unruly youths who decided to have a food fight. Much to the annoyance of my mates Mum who had to re-decorate!
  10. Wonderwall! In the words of Fran Healey, what the f***s a wonder wall anyway?
  11. And what about Dancing on the ceiling? I very much doubt it Sir!
  12. I remember seeing Edwin Collins live at a festival once. We were right at the front and it was the best comedy show I have ever seen. He first tried to stand on a monitor and it tipped over, then he stood on a bass drum and a roadie from the Levellers (who were on next) ran out and hauled him off. He then jumped off the stage to interact with the audience and couldn't get back up. Finally he introduced some guy who was going to play mouth organ. This guy came on and started ooh, oohing into the mic whilst glaring at Edwin. It was clear he didn't have his mouth organ with him. We were in stitches. I hear he has fallen on harder times now, poor sod.
  13. It would be very important to use your own mic. Check this out!
  14. Do you buy 5 string sets or do you just tune your E string down to B? I only ask because the normal E string would be very sloppy tuned down that low I would think.
  15. I have two. One is a Squire Affinity V and the other is an Ibanez K5. The K5 is a nice guitar but the neck is just too thin for me. The string spacing is a nightmare for my sausage fingers. So I always go for the cheaper Squire which is a lovely sounding instrument. So basically. you have to see what you like the feel of rather than go by price or make.
  16. And me. Back in the 90's when we were playing a lot, I used to have to fight them off with a poo like stick!
  17. My mate who is our guitar player actually said that to me once. I was aghast!
  18. Surely the Covid issue IS on topic for getting back playing because that is what stopped everyone.
  19. With all the protests and raves and now the idiots jamming onto the beaches, I think any ban on gatherings is a waste of time. We are going to see a second wave of this virus I reckon. Long before the relaxing of conditions were announced, I was seeing a much higher amount of people on the go. The first two weeks of lockdown you wouldn't see a soul on the streets. If you drove through my town you might see two other cars. Now it's like normal again, with queues at traffic lights and junctions.
  20. I just looked them up on Youchoob. They are indeed really good!
  21. This! I used to dislike pop bands like Duran Duran etc. Then Stock Aitken and co. came along and started the manufactured rubbish that we now know of as real pop. Now I realise all those bands I disliked were decent musicians who played and wrote their own music. For the record I like Duran Duran now.
  22. These guys are superb. Check out there other songs on Youtube. I follow them.
  23. Every decade has good and bad music. I was born in the 60's, so my main memories of liking music was the 80's but the 90's was even better for me with grunge coming along. Even today I love new music just as much as the older stuff. If it's good, I like it!
