This makes it clearer. It does sound like the action is too low or there's a bow in the neck. Don't worry this is all perfectly easy to sort out. plenty of videos on YouTube showing how to achieve this or if you are a bit worried a local guitar store will do a set up for you. Good luck with your new hobby. You will love it. Frustrating at times but stick with it 👍
I brought this up ages ago and was soundly berated as I said surely if its behind the beat it's out of time but the final conclusion was that behind the beat is a feel rather than playing slightly out of time.
Lots of people look for this sound. Is the instrument properly tuned? Not wanting to be condescending but it could be tuned to itself but too low. This is very hard to diagnose without hearing it as said by Classic Vibes.
When we first started dating she was up one night and I was playing music on random. Some really heavy song came on and I apologised and said I'll change that. She said no, leave it on, I like it. I thought then, this is a keeper!
I used to work in Nigeria. We used to find that if you wanted rid of any locals from the office, you just had to stick on any guitar based music. They hated it. They go for all that hip hop jazz funk rubbish.
I can't get rid of anyone from our house as my Mrs is into far darker metal than me. Her son has gotten so used to it that he doesn't bother either. Our cat from a kitten has slept right in front of a blaring speaker and the dog doesn't bother either.
I find this too. I can surprise myself sometimes but as I say All these things that I've done just stumped me. Dead easy baseline in the verse but I just couldn't play and sing it. 😖
Loved the first comment on this video 😂
You know what's harder than playing bass and singing at the same time? Playing the trumpet and singing at the same time.
At the end of the day who cares what they say about hearing songs over and over? Every time I go into Guitar Guitar they always say to me feel free to have a go on anything mate. I always say I'm just looking but if they hated hearing people noodle why would they ask? I suppose they are being nice plus they are trying to sell things but endless noodlers must put wear and tear on new instruments. I remember going to buy a Fender Telecaster. I spotted a gorgeous tobacco burst one but found a big scratch on the body. They didn't offer anything off the price, so I went for a wine coloured one which I don't like as much but is in mint condition.
We used to play this. I sang and played this bass line. Honestly, It isn't very hard. Just keep practising it.Once you have that rhythm, it just repeats.
I go blank whenever I pick up a bass in a shop. I have lots of licks and chops in my repertoire and am capable of just wandering on the neck but for some reason I just get a blank when I am aware of people judging me. Totally ok with playing rehearsed band gigs in front of any number of critics but in a shop it's gone. It scares me off trying basses out.
We once made the cardinal sin of leaving the PA turned on during our break at a wedding. We were alerted by the grooms head case sister ranting over the microphone about some girl that had hit her. She would have deserved it because she was absolutely fruit loops. We had to scramble up and get the mic turned down and then she ranted about that to us. Turn it up, I demand to be heard. It seemed an age before help arrived and escorted her out of the premises. What a mood killer!
