  1. Even if a business is closed from the lockdown they would still have access to e mail. Thats a poor excuse and as said, if you want your business to continue after lockdown then you should treat customers appropriately.
  2. I have dropped e mails to quite a few people now and not one has got back to me as yet. Either they are so busy or they don't care.
  3. Rob Green? Is he from Status? If so, I dropped them a mail a few days ago asking about this and have had no reply.
  4. Guns n Roses Appetite For Destruction. They never hit the same heights after that album in my humble opinion.
  5. Yeah, Ive got an old Zoom pedal that I haven't used for years but the fretless sound on it pretty impressive. Like you say, not as good as the real thing but saves you a few quid instead of buying one.
  6. Cheers mate, do you know if they can do burst paint schemes? My Status was Blackburst which was black fading into natural wood. Really lovely. If possible I would love to get it redone in original.
  7. Yes, yes obviously but apart from the GAS, clean sanitation, roads, education and the Aqueducts, what has Basschat ever done for us?
  8. I have resorted to mumbling Esperanto when the lyrics fail me. The one time you hope your mic is not crystal clear.
  9. I had GAS for a Gibson Thunderbird and I got in touch with guitar Guitar about trading a K5 and a Fender Cabronita. I was offered £200 for each. I nearly told them to eff off! I realise they are a business and have to make money but considering both guitars are in mint condition I was insulted. Consequently my GAS for the Thunderbird coming in at £1.899 was short lived.
  10. I have an old Status Eclipse that gigged with me faithfully for years since the mid 90's. It was looking rather tired and sorry for itself with some not very cool bashes and scratches etc. I decided to paint it myself and now regret it. I have tried to remove the paint but all I end up doing is taking everything off. I would like to rub it right down and start again. Trouble is, I have no way of doing this easily as I have no where to do it other than outside and I don't want to do that if I can help it. I would rather send it to someone who could do a professional job of painting and refurbishing. Does anyone know of anyone who does this? If this is in the wrong forum please excuse. I just thought this one would be the most noticed. Obviously I am prepared to pay and would just love the bass back to the lovely black burst that it came in originally.
  11. Ive had that too. It was always the plug ugly ones that had the confidence to come right up and say it. You are trying to be diplomatic but thinking beam me up Scotty!
  12. I remember one Christmas night we were playing in a bar. I had the worst stinking cold. I had a boil on my nose the size of a marble and I felt terrible.Really run down. I said to my mate, the guitarist, I can't do this gig, Im gonna have to pull out. Oh, you'll be fine, just carry on, you can do eet. Reluctantly I did the gig but found singing an absolute agony. I struggled to reach any notes and my throat was giving me a hell of a trouble. This girl asked can I sing? YES! I said please do, thankful for a chance to rest my throat. She came up and I gave her our lyric book. She didn't know anything and wasn't able to even busk what we were doing. Just useless. She got kicked off and I had to struggle on. I never forgave my mate and vowed to never gig when sick again.
  13. Yup, I have their complete back catalogue and there are lots of tracks that are left of centre. At the end of the day they are a blues based rock band from Texas, so most of their material is going to reflect this.
  14. We used to play in two different tunings. It was because we had an accordion player who used to jam with us for traditional songs. Trouble is, he started playing along with our contemporary material. Anyway, he had to play in standard or he would be playing on his black keys. We like to play in E flat to ease the singing. We started playing at an A.A. dance where everyone is obviously sober as hell. The rest of the band was in standard and I was in E flat. I am also the singer, so I couldn't change guitars midsong. I had to try to play the song one fret out AND sing. Talk about mental block!
  15. We were playing in a bar one Hogmanay. We did our set and said goodnight and one of the bouncers came over and said the owner wants you to play another half hour, he will pay you, so we somehow managed to come up with a set that would last another half hour or so. At the end of the night we got an extra five quid each!
  16. Yeah but they made no secret that they were unbranded. I see your point but at no point did they say it was a real Gibson.
  17. They were selling the guitars as unbranded for a really cheap price. Whats the problem? No one is getting conned just because it says Gibson on it unless they are pretty thick.
  18. Status Eclipses had heads. I have one.

I keep trying to offload some but then I think nah, it's got sentimental value and nothing gets moved. 🤨

All I can say is thanks a lot pal. I was minding my own business noodling away with my 14 basses and now I have GAS for ANOTHER Status bass! We don't even gig anymore these days!

Status basses are amongst the best in the World. I remember way back when we were starting to get busier gigging, I wanted a new bass. My mate said that young guy that plays with Pink Floyd (Guy Pratt) plays Status basses and I thought that's what I need to get. I paid £1100, which was a lot at the time, for a Status Eclipse in black burst. What a guitar! It gigged with me for years and bears the scars of many an adventure. I still have it.
  22. I enjoyed it. I like the band anyway. It was a surprise that they stopped pretty much when they went global.
