I feel your pain. I have played for years with fingers but find pack playing hard as I'm not used to it. I think pure practice is the answer. I do like the pick for the sound on certain songs.

My job put paid to our gigging career but in the meantime, the live scene has died. What have I got to look forward to if my job allows it?

A Hondo 2 Precision copy. I tried to sell it but got no takers. I honestly cannot remember what I did with it after that as I have no recollection of dumping it and I certainly don't have it. Maybe I blocked it from my memory, as I would never dream of dumping anything musical nowadays.

My phone is an iPhone 7 which Apple kindly removed the headphone socket from but this version uses a lightning connector, so once I save my pennies I will get the updated version. I find my practising curtailed by having people constantly in the house, especially at this time.

We used to do that. I am also the singer and used to phonetically wing it. This was before computers and stuff. I really felt a twatt when a French girl came in to the pub when we were playing it right enough!

Every one of my basses has a bit of something that makes me want to keep them. There are ones that I will never play live and still they stay. Some it's because of their price, some because of memories.

I had to put coloured tape round the ends of my leads as the guitarist was always mistaking my leads for his. He never noticed that his lead collection was growing and the faulty ones started working again.

We have seen them three times. Each time the sound has been rotten. Fair enough you may say, as the venue might be prone to that but Halestorm and Shinedown had great sounds and they were on the same bill. The second time we were standing pretty much in line with the mixer. It's a shame because I love Black Stone Cherry.

I have been at gigs where the sound has been fantastic, then spoken to people that were at the same gig but sitting somewhere else and have said the sound was rotten. Venues can have different characteristics depending on where you plonk yourself.

I am genuinely gutted about this. He was in the band that shaped my young life. I knew he was never going to play again but it still feels like something has been lost. I feel so sorry for him and his family. Their lives have been filled with sadness lately. At least he is at peace.
