  1. Sorry I still think it sounds better in French. Went on to check it out and found this
  2. Same with Trust Antisocial. Just fits in French. The English version is lame sounding
  3. I think some people are misunderstanding my point. Or at least bending the rules. We all know that songs sung in English are more popular, certainly in the Western World. Also English is one of the best languages for rhyming. Yes, there may be languages that are more common, like Mandarin or possibly Spanish. That is not in dispute. My point was that there are plenty of good songs out there that are sung in different languages and if you ignore them because they are sung in a foreign language, you are depriving yourself of a plethora of excellent tunes.
  4. Went up the loft and dug it out. It needs the neck straightened. I'll need to find a short reach Allan key. It a bit crackly too, maybe need to have a look inside and clean up the electrics. The bridge needs taken off and painted. Other than that, it still plays. It's a GT model according to the legend on the head.
  5. It just doesn’t work does it? I think it was Joe Strummer way back in 1980 or something, that translated their album so that they could break the British market. Personally, I preferred the original. The way the songs had been intended. My mate had spent a couple of summers in France and he brought it back for us to hear.
  6. who can forget this? I much prefer the original to the English translated version
  7. I always just feed the string down the hole and make sure the peg has the groove facing forward. Never had any problems.
  8. I agree. Till Lindemann’s solo album is really good, but the fact he sings it in English is almost disappointing
  9. My original point was small minded folks who would dismiss music just because it wasn’t in English. I was working with some boys a few years ago and I had my phone playing music. Some J rock came on and one of them exclaimed “ that’s in foreign” I said it doesn’t have to be in English to be good and he said “ tell that to the Beatles and the Stones” Fair enough, but there’s lots of bands that are huge in other countries.
  10. I got some of the lyrics. Something about a poofter! seriously. Cracking song!
  11. I like lyrics as much as the next man, but it’s not the be all and end all for me. As I say, gimme a good tune and I’m anybody’s!
  12. I got some of the lyrics. Something about a poofter! seriously. Cracking song!
  13. I agree to a point. Although when a song has a great hook, or the musicianship is amazing, I can still like it. Rammstein are huge and I bet most people can’t understand what they are singing about. Plus, if you are not listening to foreign music because you can’t understand the lyrics, then you are missing out big style.
