Celebrity Pedals - Taylor Shift... who has one?!
thisisswanbon replied to thisisswanbon's topic in Effects
I now have a Taylor Shift incoming... the basic non filter version. I'll of the demoes ive heard suggest this has all of the character of an oc2 but without the volume drop associated with the - 2oct dial. Excited to see how it compares to my octabvre! -
If you're looking at this then you'll know how brilliant Jam pedals are, and this one is no different. Ross style compressor tuned for bass, simple intuitive two knob set up that adds depth and beef while evening things out... Selling as I've decided that no matter how much I try, I'm just not about compressors. I've had loads in the past including the Origin Effects Cali76, Ampeg Optocomp, MXR bass compressor and Boss LMB3, and this is my favourite by a mile. Will add better images, but is in as new condition (already velcroed for you, too!) Comes with perfect condition box and all the box candy Jam send out too!

Post your pedal board - Basschat style!!
thisisswanbon replied to dudewheresmybass's topic in Effects
I'm just using the ultrawave for one patch so luckily didn't need to delve into that! The MVave is great though, it doesn't just go up and down either - it actually recalls patches numerically in banks of 4, so I can switch from. 1-4 etc etc all the way up. Best £30 I've ever spent! -

Hopefully the last update for a while! I've realised (probably like most) that I buy pedals through pure GAS and not requirement (hence the Jam pedal stuff) and after spending more time looking fora new fuzz for a 2 minute song in our set I've decided to reinstate the ultrawave instead... Wasn't thrilled with the fuzzed on tap on the HX One; while I love it's simplicity, the drives and fuzzed have a real digital flatness to me and really could use with some form of clean blend (much like the ms60B does). My tap tempo has stopped working with the C4 for some reason so that needs be addressed, and I struggle with back row tap dancing so hoping moving the mvave to the back doesn't cause an issue! -

Hidy Ho Neighbourinos! Reeeally interested in the Celebrity Pedals Taylor Shift OC2 clones, seen plenty of them on here which has piqued my interest and after sending a few messages to their insta (really friendly and helpful, by the way!) I'm almost sold as a change of pace to my Octabvre mini.... Anyone have one and care to share their experience and thoughts? How do they compare to other OC2 clones? Cheers in advance!

I found the same with the cali76 clone - it was a fraction of the weight of the Origin Effects pedal, too much to just be a cheaper enclosure. The Aggie tonehammer is another brick of a pedal, it weighs a tonne and runs 12v only. Obviously must not be a straight copy of the Aggie circuit then 🤔 Glad you enjoyed your pedal, the Aggie is immense too! It'd be interesting to see if the AGS operates the same way.

The official tag line says it best...

They've started strong with their endorsing artists... seems legit 🤔

I saw this and immediately thought DemonFX had copied the Way Huge Pork & Pickle!

This nailed it... can't believe I didn't notice it! Thanks muchly for that!

Okay so my Mvave chocolate plus came - and as is usually the case, there are issues (with my C4, I think) 🤦♂️ When it's set in PC mode, it goes through the presets brilliantly, with 0-3 corresponding to 1-4 on the pedal etc... Issue is, for some reason number 4 and a couple of other random numbers seem to bypass the pedal when they switch the preset. The controller DOESNT do this to my ultrawave though and pocket midi also does the same thing to the C4 from my PC. Any ideas anyone? 😫 I've tried factory resetting the C4, and uinstalled and reinstalled neuro 3 too...

I like that it's the same circuit - existing owners are less likely to feel put out (especially those new to party like me)... but the headphone in/aux out is a brilliant addition. Not sure I like the new aesthetic as much as V1. I always liked the rubber knobs on aggie stuff. Also, although lightweight is always good, I find the weight and build of the V1 reassuring; you know you're holding a serious bit of kit.

Didn't like alot of the drives or compressors, didn't like alot of the amp models, suffered with option paralysis and second guessing my choices, and found I spent longer playing with the pedal than playing bass. That being said - I LOVED the flexibility of it and how nothing was off limits workflow wise. I'm Certainly not saying they're bad - there are far better players than me that sound brilliant with it. I'm just analogue at heart and found I could "hear" a difference (most likely listening with my eyes to be honest).

Ian Allison was the reason I bought an HX stomp - 3 times! Hated it and sold it on every time.

Everything bar the Tuner, Ocabvre and C4 are recent new or new to me acquisitions in a bid to find my IEM + FOH sound... but the HX one was purchased new today out of the need for an occasional bit of reverb and delay. What a great pedal! I didn't see the point on release and was torn between this and the zoom ms60b+ today, but the designated tap tempo won me over. I love the idea of having future requirements met, and having the option paralysis of the hx stomp taken away - just one pedal, no routing or amp and cab options to worry about. You can even limit how many "presets" you're able to scroll through with the footpedals which is great! For £200 this just seems a well thought out and well built pedal!

Ita coming in a couple of weeks so I'll find out! Amazon's returns policy is bulletproof so no concerns 👌

Oo! For £30 on amazon it's worth a punt! So it should just plug into the C4 and work? Midi is so alien to me I'm scared I break something 😬
-
My search abilities may be failing me but I can't find the answer I want to my question so here goes... Is there an alternative to the disaster area micro.dmc? I just need a simple, tidy solution to access all of the presets on my C4 without wanting to get into scenes and big controllers or run millions of cables... @LukeFRC I see you built your own... was this an easy thing? Id rather pay £25 than £165!

It's great when everything comes together and you're digging your sound! I REALLY wanted to get one of the pulp and peel compressors but opted for a cheaper unit instead 😖 Excellent bit of kit for the money - I bought a used one for £15. Stays in my gig bag for emergencies. I do worry they may be a bit heavily mid scooped as their sansamp inspiration is, but again - for the money you can't go wrong!
