I'm assuming the pedal, as it's the same set up I've always used except for the change in bass... I may have to do a bit of investigation, but kicking in the T16 is usually my favourite part of the set, needless to say, last night was a disappointment haha.

It is, but the Sandberg I was using before it was too and I had no issues (admittedly the active pre in the Sandberg seemed a bit more tame)

I've always used my T16 V2 and thought it was the best thing in the world! Use it with filter set to sub, wet sound 100% and dry totally off. Had the most massive deep sub tone. Gigged it with my Spector rebop 4mm and all of a sudden to the deep bass wasn't as deep and all of a sudden distorted. Didn't expect that at all! 🤔

Haha glad I could be of assistance (potentially) 😆. I'm going to do a bit of digging tonight before committing; I'd like to be sure it's not too similar to the bass soul food it'd be replacing.

My recent Spector Rebop 4MM purchase has cured my Bass gas (temporarily, doubt). Main things on my gas list right now are a line6 helix hx, and a Cog knightfall 66

I find the BSF great is a grit pedal, but as our repertoire has changed I've got less use for a grit pedal and would prefer something with a bit more gain and body. At present, the BSF is being used to stack into a SA Bass OFD for the Kasabian club foot tone, but even then it seems out of it's depth. At current, I have 1 control on the OFD set for the club foot fuzz, and the other for an all purpose tube drive with clean blend. The OFD, unfortunately isn't great for changing on the fly, so it's sort of stuck at that. The Behringer may be a bit too big, as there's literally space on the board for a standard sized pedal unfortunately, it's a very tight board!

So I was looking for a replacement for my Bass Soul Food, and saw a few recommendations for the TC MojoMojo. After looking for a local supplier to try one it seems that both guitarguitar AND PMT have stopped selling them, and Anderton's have them on what seems like an end of line deal for £40 (plus P+P). I've made the mistake of jumping head first into pedals before and coming out with a loss so I'd ideally like to try before buying... So I ask you... What other budget friendly dark horse distortion/OD pedals are great for bass, whether it be intentional or happy accident?

Cheers folks, It's a great bass! I love the satin finish. Only used through headphones so far but there's a lot more body to the tone than I expected with the pick up placement. Build quality seems better than the EBMM Sterling 5 I had a while back(although this may have been a bad apple). Excited to see how it sits in the band mix. I can see how spector's can become addictive, Greek! I'm already considering looking for a PJ config next! Which spectors do you have?

Thanks for the suggestions, ended up with the spector case from Thomann, bass direct didn't get back to me with a timescale from their distributer. Bit dubious from the reviews I've read, but seems the best case for the job

Hi everyone! Anyone got any recommendations for a hard case for a spector bass? Between the small curved body and angled head stock I'm absolutely paranoid it's going to end up in a snapped heap of firewood! Thanks

Purchased Rhysyjob's Spector Rebop 4MM, through facebook co-incidentally before realising it was the same bass on here. Great fella to deal with, kept me informed and the bass came far better packaged than I've ever seen before in immaculate condition as described. Thanks again mate!

No, as it happened I didn't. Although in fairness I didn't go to great efforts to complain about it. I mentioned it on here, Facebook bass pages etc but decided to switch brands. Dunlop super brights have been a budget friendly breath of fresh air; everything I had hoped for from the D'Addarios in excess.

If GK is on the cards personally I'd forget the ashdown! I've never used an ashdown head that hasn't sucked the bite and attack from my tone. I ALMOST passed on buying a stingray on a sweet deal because it was demoed through an ashdown, took it home to try, and there was the tone! (Amp at home was a TC RH750, which I also didn't get on with but found preferable to the ashdown by far). GK all the way.

It might be best to sit and write a list of all features you require, and all of the ones that are surplus that would be nice but not deal breakers. Some of the things you've listed are for different application and have different feature sets that may not tick every box.

What is it that you're looking to use it for? Different application requires different feature sets, i.e. headphone out for home practice etc

Unfortunately I'm not the most technically savvy person, I'd listen to Woodinblack over myself. I got my numbers from the below table, however I fully admit to not really understanding it!

Something along the lines of the RH750 being marketed as a 700 watt head, when really it puts out a max of 236 watts (same as the RH450 I believe) with some clever compression to make it as loud as a 700 watt head. I found that the amp had a baked in overly compressed tone, and even by class D standards lacked "heft".

As long as they haven't cooked the numbers on how much thrust it's actually putting out too. If they tell me I'm getting 10 thrust, then I want 10 thrust; not 5 thrust that's compressed to sound like 10

It's nice to see something a bit more gimmick free and plug and play being brought to the TC table. That being said; I think TC have forever dented people's trust in them with the whole wattage thing, and no matter what they offer now (at whatever price point) it'll always be a question that's raised.

Just for info... I decided on a Vitoos iso4 plus.. 8 x 9v 500mA outputs (max 2000mA), Small enough to fit under the pedal train nano+ (leaving 4 of the 8 outputs available but this suits my needs). Everything running silently, seems to get warm, but not outside of what's acceptable. £33 delivered on Amazon but sure you can get them cheaper on fleabay

Thanks Al, You're like a glorious fountain of zoom knowledge! From what I've read, I'll probably use it as a selection of single effects rather than patches, to make the on/off operation a bit easier and change pedal choice between songs. So you've not experienced any Tone loss when the zoom is bypassed? I've read conflicting reports of minimal top end loss, pretty heavy mid loss, and no loss at all so I'm a bit puzzled!

I've also decided to pull the trigger on am MS-60B and purchased it yesterday from my local PMT. Haven't had a chance to have a play about yet, but after doing some post-purchase reading I've read a lot about the MS-60B's being noisy on cheaper power supplies, and suffering from huge tone suck, even when bypassed... anyone else found this? I'm worried I've made the wrong choice, but won't get to use it with the band before my 14 day grace period is over...

Reading back through some of the posts in this topic has got me gassing for a B3n as much as the Helix! There's concern that maybe the B3n won't sound as authentic as the HX, but as long as there's no reduction in 'heft', maybe my sights need to be aiming at zoom...
