Brilliant sounding pedal - I've got a couple of Jam pedals now and they're brilliant (and really well presented and packaged!) My only niggle with the rattler is the headroom, apparently mkII has more headroom but I still find myself having to crank the level with any reasonable clean blend mixed in. Never found it to be too quiet though so no biggy. I find this blends with an octaver better than any muff fuzz for a brilliant synth tone

XVive Bass Squeezer Compressor - *SOLD*

Oh wow! I'd always thought it was the other way! 🤦♂️ That backfired - I had assumed that was why it was £100 more than the solid colour Z7 basses
-
It's not something that can be tightened - It's not the fitting that's loose, the socket itself doesn't hold the cable, so the cable works its way out. The jack is also encased in plastic inside so you can't bend the contacts. This bass is on it's way back now anyways - the darker neck one from Thomann is as tight as a gnat's chuff and much more secure. The darker neck is starting to grow on me - and I don't use the neck pick up enough for the volume issues to be a hinderance - my compressor goes some way to helping with this too. Opted for the Swamp ash so it'd be lighter, I suspect this is heavier than the colour options though. The feel of the neck gives enough good will to ignore the smaller sins... The darker contrast in the neck may grow on me over time - who knows 🤔

I didn't realise these had an internal trim pot - I'd wager that's the issue, which I'm fine with - the loose output jack letting the cable come out mid set - a bit of a bigger issue. Same with quiet middle string, neck pick up issue. Not human error and a bit more of a deal breaker. I agree @Chienmortbb, the dark neck is less pleasing aesthetically. The fit and finish seems much better on this bass though - not sure where the extra lb of weight comes from mind!
-
I've revisited the thomann one before sending it back... and I'm even more confused! The Thomann bass has a MUCH darker neck, weighs a full 1lb more, is nowhere near as hot output wise, has a MUCH more secure output jack but has the quietness in the A and D strings on the neck pick up! I tried swapping batteries between the basses but this didn't change the output either way. Andertons bass (lighter headstock and neck) is on its way back... undecided about the Thomann one at present - interested to see how it stacka up against everyone else's weight and tone wise. Anyone else's neck this dark, bass this heavy (9.9lb), and is your preamp mega LOUD? I may abandon ship at this point and look at the SBEBMM Ray34 range

Awesome! Glad it's worked out for you! It's incredible how good sire necks are... other companies should take note!
-
So further to my niggles - I've found ANOTHER issue and think mine is going back... On the neck pick up, the A and D are seriously underpowered. I thought this was the case at my gig last night, but thought I'd to check it in a more controlled environment before passing judgement... this ISNT the case on the bridge pickup, so I know it's not an uneven string set, and it's even more pronounced in passive mode. Anyone else had this? I'm really pleased for all of you that aren't having issues by the way! These are great feeling, looking and sounding basses... I just feel like I've received the entirety of the first shipments issues 😂.
-
So I found a couple more issues with mine, and I've had my hands on three of these now... Firstly, loose knobs! Mid control was mega loose, which is not good when Andertons assured me this had been QCd. Second, there's a very small ding around the Second fret. Not an issue per se, but all 3 have had imperfections on the neck Third and worst... the input jack isn't very secure, causing my cable to fall out mid gig tonight. As I've now returned two of these, I'll likely look for a fix rather than replacement Honourable mention: There's also a major volume mismatch between the neck and bride pup volume wise, and there's ALOTof bass in the active bass control. For me, the preamp is a weak point. Other than that though (😂) great bass, sits well on the strap, plays great after a set up and for the most part sounds awesome (if a bit hot)
-
Actually both the basses I received (Thomann and Andertons) were the same, really high action! Didn't adjust them as I'm returning though but good to know!
-
So after still no response from Thomann, I panic ordered from Andertons thinking I'd return the Thomann bass when it eventually arrives... Typically, both arrived at the same time! 🤦♂️ Both are being sent back. The thomann bass was certainly the nicer bass as far as wood grain goes, and it seemed as though it had genuinely been QC'd. Issue is there's a blemish/dot on the back of the neck that you can feel underthumb that I think would bug me... The Andertons bass definitely hadn't been checked. There were sharp fret edges as well as shocking finishing at the top of the neck, and shavings under the scratchboard. I have a replacement coming tomorrow so hopefully third time lucky!
-
Enjoy gents! Still no dispatch on mine... hugely tempted to order from Andertons and send the Thomann one back... I may have to unfollow this thread until mine arrives... its too painful 😂

More changes... at this point I'm not sure I'll ever be satisfied! SA Ultrawave is gone in place of the Big Muff Sovtek Delux, brilliantly versatile fuzz! I loved the dyna-ssor so much I splurged on the Rattler mk2... Tempted to change the preamp to something more amp like, but this set up sounds filthy with my Sandberg Cali II with emg gzr P pick up -
Well this backfired 🤦♂️... enjoy your NBD neepheid!

That's awesome for you, but awful for me after I cancelled my order in favour of one in-stock with Thomann... mines currently in the middle of its journey to the border according to Thomann tracking 😖. Fingers crossed for you that Andertons manage to over-deliver after weeks of over-promising!
-
Even more exciting...
-
This is exciting! New lead time 10-13 weeks for new orders though 😬
-
Just cancelled with Andertons and ordered with Thomann! Appreciate the shout. I've gone for the Natural finish Z7 4 string, they had 1 left in stock that needs to go through quality (hence the 2-5 days lead time). Even if I don't get it any quicker, I'm happier to use a more forthcoming company. They did mention there are no more coming until November now...
-
My thoughts exactly! Although I can't think of anything else that ticks so many boxes at this price point, and I really don't want to go to the back of the queue at Thomann 😫 I think this will be a last purchase with Andertons though either way...
-
Given they're telling people with existing orders the 12th, it's disappointing that they're still showing this...
-
I told a customer the same thing today for something we haven't even ordered yet - Customs are such a mystery that they're the perfect scapegoat.
-
Andertons wouldn't lie just to keep hold of the pre-order, surely? 🤔 I did say to him that if this is going to be a rolling delay as I've previously experienced then I'd rather cancel and go to somewhere more forthcoming, but he pinkie promised this was the last delay.
-
Yup... just called and been put back to 12th due to a delay with the shipping container. Apparently this is the last delay though 🤔
-
Oh wow... mines definitely going back, although nothing yet. 🤔 I may cancel this and look elsewhere at this point. Shocking way to go on stringing people along
