1. For all the white lovers out there. Bear in mind this guard is from an 'upgrade' H1, hence the truss rod access slot on the guard...older ones, like mines, truss rod is accessed from headstock end.
 2.
Any idea what other pick guards would go with the bass? I can't get my head around that one!
I can stick the original parchment (white) guard back on if you'd prefer?
 3. Also forgot to mention that i have the original Fender pick ups that will be sent with the bass....what more could you ask for at £320 posted?

 8. It's a CBS era P and could well be a heap of sh*te...hence it's immaculate condition, ie from lack of playing cos it stank. Saying that...it could also be a re-fin...sorry to piss on the parade

 10.
Sadly not .. Flares and waistline have long since gone ,,, I don't have the Fender bassman valve head and 2x15 diagonal cab either .. That lot sounded really good ... More funny pictures of me playing in the dim and distant past? No problem: Ric 4001, same amp and cab, dodgy shirt and more flares, quite possibly Mister Buyright high waisters which were The Dogs at the time ... http://www.jellied-reels.co.uk/pics.htm#oldpics Share some of yours?
Aye they're defo High Waisters...mmmm! 11.
some people just like being rude, i guess.
And others like being mysterious Rude? Miss the 'thanks' and 'no, thanks' did you? Why not just put the price and location and be done with it?
 12. The majority of Fender necks are, as said above, 3 0r 4 bolts...excepting the AM Dlx series which are 5 bolts and 22 frets. stratosphere was a good bet until the pound/dollar exchange rate fell...now it's not so attractive....remember you WILL have to pay import tax and handling charges for your purchase. Allparts necks are good...and fit well. Can't comment on mighty mite but warmoth have a good rep.
 13. Forgot to mention that the bass will be sent in a functional, if scruffy, Fender HSC case.
 14. That jazz is ganting....the finish reminds me of the illustration from a box of fire lighters...
 15.
that neck looks lovely - is it an allparts neck?
It is indeed and it's been on and off my basses almost as much as a whoors knickers.
 16. Sussed it....my bad...i thought that the Am DLX 22 fret neck had an extended fingerboard..it doesn't, it's a slightly longer neck...hence the intonation probs...i know where to get one, but at £350 it's almost as much as the bass cost to put together.
 17.
Did you have any issues with the neck joint? Looks Great, nice one!
Neck joint is as snug as bug in a rug.
 18.
is it that the entire neck is the same length? cos that doesnt matter. its the distance between bridge and nut that matters.
The distance between nut and bridge and 12th fret and bridge are both approx 17 inches which means that theoretically it should have intonated no problem...i'm flumoxed as to why it wouldn't.
 19. Hey ho! Built this bugger over the last few weeks. I'ts body is from a Fender AM DLX Jazz, it has routing for active pups but i've gone passive. Fitted Kent Armstrongs Vintage Jazz pups and they sound good to me. Neck is from the infamous P Special (which is no more)...same with the Bad Ass. CTS pots and wiring by me. Colour is Oly White Pearl. As i said, it sounds good to me and has a nice low action...only problem i had putting it together was having to move the bridge to get it to intonate bang on...this means that i can't use the thru body stringing, but to be honest i'm not sure it made any difference stringing it that way anyway. If anyone has any answers as to why it wouldn't intonate using the original bassbridge i'd love to know. If bought brand new it did originally come with a 22 fret neck, but as far as i'm aware with the neck being the same length overall but with an extended fingerboard, this theoretically shouldn't matter...i'm mystified?
