Question about Trace Elliot V-Type all tube head
sonnyonbass replied to Catalin's topic in Amps and Cabs
Not quite. The V8 is a more sophisticated version with 7 valves.
Not only that. The V8 has an extra overdrive channel as well. The V6 for instance does not have that. -
What a beast - and a very rare one too!
Certainly is. Glad I found one here!

For years I played on a AH350X with a 410 and a 115. Indestructible but very heavy. It's still in the basement but never use it. Moved on to an Eden head (WT1205) with a 410 XLT but we never really got along. I think I liked the slider EQ on the TE better than the 1205's parametric with a lot of boost and turbo boost and enhance options. It was just too much. Now I found this one and it has the sound I was looking for. (bass is not mine btw) Overdrive channel is a bit too thin too my taste but we have pedals to sort that problem. :-) Anyone tried this with 2 12 inch cabs?

Nice Hohner passive 5 string bass, Has a few dings that have been touched up in black. Nothing too bad. Bit of buckle rash on the back and the usual swirls from slapping and popping but looks very ok for a bass of this age. Strap button has been moved to a better location. It's nicely balanced now. Fretboard is in very good condition as are the frets. Has Steinberger licensed bridge. 1 screw from the bridge has been replaced by a rvs one. You can still order a black one. Call me lazy. :-) If you need more pics, no problem. I'm trying to restore a Jazz bass to its original glory so I need some funds. All in all a fun bass that sounds good for a nice price. Willing to ship everywhere.

It's a fun bass but got my eye on something else. Not the cleanest one, has some buckle rash on the back (not that deep) a few dings on the top horn that have been touched up, bit of swirling from slapping and the usual replacement of the strap button. Regarding its age it looks ok I think! 1 screw from the bridge has been replaced. Couldn't be bothered with an original black screw (I had a gig that evening) but they are still available. Fretboard and frets look good and it has a fresh set of strings on it. Leg rest is still on there and works. Could use a set-up depending of playing style.

Price drop £ Withdrawn from sale! You all know this one. A Markbass Super Synth. It's in very good condition. Only the underside has residue from tape on it from pedalboards. 90% will come off with sticker remover if you want it clean for on your desk. (but this one is much more fun on stage) ;-) Selling because I need money for a bass restauration. Oh. Original box also contains manual and new stickers/velcro stuff. Shipping from Holland and willing to ship anywhere! The SUPER SYNTH turns your bass into a synthesizer—with seriously cool sounds and no tracking delay! It also doubles as a digital octaver, with both octave up and octave down layers. The parameters of the pedal's presets can be modified using the Markbass Pedal Controller software. Simply install the software, connect the pedal to your computer using a USB cable, modify the presets as desired, and then load them back onto the pedal. Like all our pedals, this unit features true bypass.

Nice! Thanks. :-) -
A Berg NV610. If you need more lows on stage you need to play with PA support :-). I tried it with a TE V8. Enough lows for me...

Spotify, very very impressed, anyone else use it ?
sonnyonbass replied to tonybassplayer's topic in General Discussion
Spotify is great. From a listener perspective and a musicians perspective. It's incredible that you can have playlists downloadable and can listen to them when not having an Internet connection. Getting to know new band from other peoples playlists. Etc. As for people bitching about them not paying enough. You just probably have a sh*tty deal on the digital part in your contract. That's YOUR fault! Bitch at your label. Spotify pays out 70% and that's just as much as iTunes. The more people use spotify the more potential listeners you you will have the more money you will make. And you get paid EVERY single time. It's fantastic. If nobody listens then: your promo might be lacking or your music just isn't interesting enough etc etc. Streaming is the way forward. Some people just like to keep living in the past I guess. Yes and I do listen to vinyl sometimes. But that doesn't mean I believe it will come back. -
I hope the DSP stuff is for speaker management etc. and not for dialling sounds. Fun for the casual hobbyists. I see it more as a marketing tool. It's a bass amp not a 5-way array P.A system. :-)

Strangely, I found that practicing (a lot) is also a great way to improve tone. ;-)
