The neck can hardly take 4 strings and there's an empty tuner hole in the headstock for a 5th string

I currently use a Trace Elliot AH-250SM amp head through TE1048H and TE1x15" cabs but I've just recently purchased a Zoom B9.1ut Bass Valve Multi Effects Pedal which I'm planning on using. I was wondering if swapping to a power amp would be a good idea, thereby removing the Trace sound from the system, as it seems silly choosing an amp sound option from the pedal and then putting the sound through the Trace. If so, what would be a good power amp to use and does anyone have one they want to swap for my Trace Head.

Bought a Scratchplate from John and it was delivered the next day. Nice bloke to deal with and good communications. Will
Can we form an orderly queue, Not sure on numbers made, but I think not many and they have a certain mystique. But, Twin Valve £250-400, Quattra £350-550, guessing Hexa starts at £500 and on, plus also the rarity value. If you like the GP11 pre then you can't go wrong, they really did get those pre's spot on, I love my Twin and its GP7 pre.
The shop owner mentioned it will probably be around the £800 mark It will have been serviced and obviously I'll give it a blast before deciding on anything. I also need to find out what the market price for it is but there's not a lot of information on the web.

I walked into one of our local music shops today and came across a Trace Elliot Hexa Valve. I've got to say I was a bit intrigued so asked the owner about it. Apparently it belongs to a customer that might want to sell it but it needs valves replacing etc. I noticed it only has one speaker output but it does have an ohm selector so that shouldn't be a problem. I've put my name down and asked him to contact me when he knows more. Does anyone have any experience of this amp head and any idea how much it might be worth ?
i'm thinking of ordering one of these from Guitar Guitar but it will be a blind purchase,i.e. i've not even seen it in the flesh let alone played one,or any other BTB bass. are they as good as they look ? http://www.guitarguitar.co.uk/bass_guitars...=09102213000429 it has the MK2 Bartolini soapbars & MK2 e.q. + a piezo bridge,so i'm thinking it will have a pretty impressive tonal range, but wil it be a good funk bass? i'm thinking it will but would much appreciate your thoughts, especially of you own a BTB of some kind. cheers art'
It's a lot of money for a blind buy but it does look like a gorgeous Bass. Good luck with it.
As well as intervals, learn to listen for cadences. The key cadences are V-I, IV-I and I-V. II-V-I is also useful. As others have said, the first and/or last chord on the chart are usually pretty indicative. A similar annoyance to me (albeit a pretty anal one) is when someone calls out "G sharp" when they really mean "A flat"! Martin
Haha, yes I've been told before that the chord is B#, I think he might have meant C

Who's Changed From A Multi FX Unit To Separates or Vice-Versa
PURPOLARIS replied to Phaedrus's topic in Effects
This is a great topic I've been thinking about effects recently and was wondering which route to go so I'm following this topic with a lot of interest. By the sounds of things it would be better for me to go the expensive multi-FX route (as opposed to the cheap multi fx route). I quite fancy the Zoom one with the valve in it, I think it's the B9 and has been mentioned by the OP. Does anyone have any experience with this pedal ? -
Wow, how uncalled for was that? Have you thought that maybe 165 of the viewers didn't know the cure for your issue?
Or that your question has already been answered. Do you want 166 repeats of the same answer ?
Its in great nick, fully shielded with a drop d tuner and badass bridge a small scratch on the front and a paint chip on the bottom edge,(not in pics) it has an added side jack and a pearl guard which is a bit roughly fitted around the neck pickup. Very sad sale, and really collection ONLY from Cheltenham. sensible offers please thanks
You're selling some really nice gear, I wish I had a few spare quid lying about. I'd love to see what you're keeping as I assume you're not getting rid of your best.
Two points in reply: 1. Thanks for the link to the switchable Planet Waves lead. 2. Your comment "...what's not to understand? " is a little curt, I feel. I didn't understand the phrase "bass guitars which have a tip-ring-sleeve tap to activate the power supply". That's why I posted the original question. Steve
My bass is active and I use a silent neutrik cable with no problems. Perhaps mine doesn't have a tip ring sleeve tap

Top bloke, went out of his way to deliver a Cab for me. Nice friendly comms too :-) I wish I could have met you in person Jon to thank you but Basschat's a small world so I might get that chance one day. All the best Will

Why does no-one have 16 ohm bloody speakers in stock!
PURPOLARIS replied to Moos3h's topic in Amps and Cabs
Thanks Stevie. Reading their charts they seem very similar to those fitted in the Ashdown anyway, similar frequency response. I'll give 'em a try anyway, as this cabinet is never used on its own anyway. All done and paid, thanks Howard!
Saw these on Ebay, they might be worth a shot if your Fanes don't work out. Not sure how good they are though. £50 for postage ????? Why is it that when the price of a guitar goes up sellers think the postage should go up too I can understand insurance being a bit higher to cover the costs but not £40 higher.
