I use a Tascam US1641, it has 16 channels and takes up 1U rack space. (see photo) It connects to the pc or laptop via USB 2.0 and records multitrack. It's a great piece of equipment for the money.

Our drummer has the tempo for every song we play written down and programmed into his metronome thingy that he has attached to his drums. He counts us in using that. We're generally not too far off the tempo that way.

I'm considering selling my Badass 2 bridge but to be honest it's with trepidation. Basically it depends on what it's worth and if so, is it worth selling ? At the moment it's on a Korean Squire P-Bass which is my back up guitar and doesn't get used much. I'm looking at building up some finances to buy myself a decent 2x10 cab. I've started off by putting my backup amp and cab for sale, see here http://basschat.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=45540&hl= and will be selling a few bits and bobs as things go along. If anyone fancy's it and can persuade me to part with it then I'll take it off the P-Bass and sell it. If not I'll just keep it on there. Another thought is that if anyone fancy's the complete guitar I might also be open to offers. It has Seymour Duncan Basslines pickups and has Schaller licensed machine heads as well as CTS pots. I can post pics of the complete guitar if anyone is interested.
I'm looking at selling my amp and cab which no longer gets used. It's a Laney BH150 which I guess pushes out 150 watts. The cab is a 4x10 which is 240 watts and is 8 ohm. I've gigged with this amp often and it has never once let me down. Also, don't be fooled by the 150 watts, this thing easily outguns a loud drummer and guitarists, I've never had to take it past halfway. It has a built in compressor (not bad) and a 6 band equaliser. I'm looking for £150 for both, which I think is a fair price although I'm sure I'll be gunned down if it isn't :-) I am willing to post but would prefer pickup. I'm in Swindon, Wilts. I'm also willing to listen to trades for a 2x10.
Friday afternoon pre-gig bump with new pics.

The second one is similar to the quilted top on my Jazz.
Very tempted with that stunning quilt maple top model...but i know its going to end up being out of my price range..
I love my Jazz, I wouldn't swap it for anything. Get one !!!!!
IMO all P-basses sound pretty much the same, go for the jazz
PURPOLARIS replied to pala's topic in eBay - Weird and Wonderful
Surely a Paypal dispute should have been raised and he could have got his money back that way ? Is he a memeber of BC ? I was just wondering how people know the story behind it.
And in case anyone is in doubt, the bass was originally sold by tune-o-matic as 100% original. Third party examination has shown that anyone with a reasonable knowledge of Fender basses (let alone someone like TOM who buys and sells them for a living - a very lucrative one at that) would have realised that it is not an original instrument. Anyone who follows vintage Fender auctions will know that TOM snaps up old basses only to resell them a few weeks later at a considerable markup. I have spotted many `ambiguities' in his auctions, and wouldn't touch him with a bargepole. Edit - Personal opinion only, doesn't reflect the view of Basschat etc.
-
Used strings 34" scale
PURPOLARIS replied to geoffbyrne's topic in Accessories & Other Musically Related Items For Sale
I'll give you a fiver for the four string Roto flats.
Most of these 5 sets were on a 3x2 except the Blue Steels which were on a 4x1. Also I have no idea of some of the gauges. I have no idea what these go for, so make me an offer. Most of these are *not* played to death, except, maybe the Flats. COMPLETE SETS Unidentified 4-string Rounds set (no silk) with a D'Addario 130 5th Round in a Roto 77 box. 4 string set of Rotosound Flats in a Jiffy bag. 5 string set of Rotosound Flats in a Roto 55 box. 5 string set of Rotosound Rounds, probably 77s. Look like 40 -130 in a new Roto RB box. 5 string set of Rotosound Rounds in a Roto 88 box - look like 45-130s. Probably 66s. 5 string set of D'Addario Rounds, look like 45-135 in a DR box. 5 string set of Dean Markley Blue Steel Rounds 45-125 in their own box(!) PARTIAL SETS 4 of a 5 string set of Lakland Rounds. 40 - 128. Missing D. In a Roto 88 box. Assorted NOS Picato ProBass Nylon Wound strings some new.60-8?-96-115. 60 -1 used - 1new 8? -1 used 98 -1 used -1 new 115-1 used - 1 new I would trade *all* the above for a new 5 string set of Rotosound 55 Compressors or 5er set of DR Lo-Riders. From what I can remember, they used to take turns playing Bass/Guitar.
That's what I was wondering. I do know Rutherford had a twin-neck bass/guitar jobbie - Shergold, I believe. Decent guitarist and decent bassist. Wait, wasn't Rutherford bassist while Hackett was guitarist? I don't know my prog. I should be ashamed of myself.
Ok, my band has decided to do Get On Your Boots by U2 so that's the latest one I've done. I've also been learning a lot of Rammstein songs for the Tribute band I'm in. Going to tackle Seeman next. Very melodic bass line in that one.

I've always thought a Precision sounded like a Precision but a Jazz sounds much more like the person playing it.
Now that's something I may find myself quoting ...
I happen to like the sound of my Jazz Bass :-))))

I used to play the guitar so using a pick was second nature to me when I took up the Bass. I now use both pick and fingers depending on the song. It doesn't matter what you use as long as you're having a great time doing it.

Thanks for all the reply's and good wishes. I'll let you know how we get on in the near (hopefully) future. The songs are growing on me more and more as I play them so I'm hopefull we'll pull it off.

As instrumentals go, I love it. It'll be interesting to see what else you come up with in the future. Any plans on adding a vocalist to your mix ?
