1. Wikipedia is your friend. The Fender Aerodyne Jazz Bass is an electric bass guitar created by Fender and was introduced to the US market in late 2004. The Aerodyne Jazz Bass is usually equipped with a split single-coil 'p-bass' pickup at the mid position and a single-coil pickup from a Jazz Bass at the bridge position. A number of Japanese domestic market 'non-export' models also come in a standard Jazz Bass' configuration. The bass is fitted with one volume knob per pickup, plus a master tone knob. The body outline is shaped like the Jazz Bass, though substantially lighter (the Aerodyne Jazz Bass weighs about 7 pounds, compared to the 10 pounds of the standard Jazz Bass). It's also slightly thinner than a traditional Jazz Bass body, due to its unusual 39 inch top radius unique to the Aerodyne series. The radius of the top means that the bridge is actually inset slightly into the top of the body. The Aerodyne Jazz Bass has a standard 1.5 inch nut width, a very slim "C" shaped neck and 20 medium jumbo frets. The Aerodyne Jazz Bass has various cosmetic features that differ greatly from similar Fender basses. The 'export model' is only available in black, with a matching black headstock facing, smoked chrome hardware and no pickguard. The neck features dot inlays, but only on the side; the fretboard has no markers on the front. There is cream binding that goes around the front perimeter of the body and newer instruments have a Stratocaster output jack while the earlier instruments have a quarter-inch jack mounted directly in the wood on top of the body. Fender Aerodyne Classic Precision Bass Special This variant has a radiused, carved basswood Precision Bass body with cream binding and flamed maple top, P/J pickups, Jazz Bass neck with a 20-fret stained rosewood fingerboard with aged pearloid dot inlays, matching headstock and a 3-ply white pickguard. It was introduced in 2006, and was offered in Natural, Blue, and Crimson Red Transparent finishes.

3. It's got the original Marcus Miller Pre installed.
4. I need to put a few basses up for sale as I've got a ski holiday coming up and plane fares from South Africa for my son to get here but anyway we'll see what sells first. I've recently joined a new band and could be doing with a 5 string again (thin neck) so if you've got anything that you'd like to trade I'd be open to that also as some of this fund is going towards that. 3rd of my Basses up for sale is this Mexican Fender Jazz. It's in good nick but has a slight indent in the neck,it doesn't bother me but thought I'd mention it. The scratchplate is aftermarket but I do have the original scratchplate which will be included in the sale. I'm looking for £280 for this.
5. 2nd of my Basses up for sale is this Honey Blonde Aerodyne Precision I recently aquired this Bass from Mike (Basskit_Case) and it is as he described below. I prefer a flatter neck profile so while this Bass is immaculate the neck profile isn't quite to my liking. My main Bass at the moment is my Ibanez 1300 premium, I gues that neck profile has been spoiling me. This is a 2005/6 honey blonde version of the Aerodyne Precision, currently strung with flats, it is in excellent condition. it has no buckle rash, just the usual finish swirls, the only mark I can find is on the bottom edge of the bass I have tried to show it in pictures below. I'd like £480 for this preferably Bank transfer but will accept Paypal gift.
6. No I believe the original neck was broken some time ago which is why it has the Status Graphite one on it.
7. I'm not sure about this one yet as I do enjoy playing it but I need to put a few basses up for sale as I've got a ski holiday coming up and plane fares from South Africa for my son to get here but anyway we'll see what sells first. I've recently joined a new band and could be doing with a 5 string again (thin neck) so if you've got anything that you'd like to trade I'd be open to that also as some of this fund is going towards that. First up my Marcus Miller with a Status graphite neck. I recently took this in a trade for my Shuker 5, it is a wonderful Bass and the neck was installed and set up by Jon Shuker. This is the least of the three that I want to sell. Since receiving it I've installed DiMarzio DP123 pickups as I felt the bridge pickup was lacking a bit, it now growls to high heavens. I have the pickup cover for and the old pickups which will be included. I'm looking for £750 for this. Pics
8. Yep, that's what you've got to do. They would have more sales off me if they adjusted their postage cost accordingly for lower priced items. I guess it works for them though as they seem to be a successful company.
9. Looks good, decent price too. The only thing that puts me off Thomann is the minimum postage cost otherwise I would buy more there.
10. Ok, I'll say it. You have to state a price, this isn't an auction site.
11. I've got a Fender Jazz mim that I'd trade for it if you're interested. White with tort plate, rosewood board.
12. Would you be interested in a Tascam bass trainer ?
13. I wouldn't mind fitting one that a guitar box could be shoved through. It would save a lot of hassle for my neighbours.
14. This is just a big up for an ebay seller Guitars Electric. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/190763282005?var=490120011970&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1497.l2649 I bought a Jazz Bass scratchplate from them a while ago and it was a perfect fit and good quality so I went and ordered one for a P-Bass too. Anyway, the postie decided to fold the scratchplate to fit it through the letter box. I sent an email to the seller explaining that perhaps they should put "do not bend" on the envelope and that I was thinking of ordering another scratchplate in a different colour but was worried that it would receive the same treatment from the postie. I wasn't blaming the seller but the postie for being too stupid as he would have had to exert some force to bend the scratchplate the way it was bent. I received a reply straight away saying they were sorry and that they would send a replacement straight away or if I wanted to order another one they would send it with that. I went ahead and ordered another one and true to their word I received both the replacement and the one I ordered, this time better packed and got to me in perfect condition. Well worth a shout if you're looking for a replacement scratchplate.
15. I've decided to keep this for now.
16. No I've still got it, unsure as to selling it as I'm still looking for a P Retro or Marcus Retro
17.
I once bought a Status neck for a Jazz. I got Jon Shuker to fit it for me. Lot more snappier sound also very even sound across the neck ans sustained for ever. If you get one get Status to fit it for you or a very good luthier
I think I now own that Bass.
18. Mike sold me his Aerodyne Precision. It's a great bass, well looked after and it came well packed. Great comms from Mike too, don't hesitate to deal with him. cheers Mike. Will.
19. It's available as a trade but not for sale.
20.
Congrats. Mr. JH has invested heavily in QC in the past few years, and all the current instruments produced by RIC are the best they've ever been, and only getting better. Re: price - just do what I do - gig enough to pay for it. Your wife will understand. Mine does - I was in three bands when we got married; I'm in three bands still, all these years later. The bands have changed over the years, but the gig money makes the weekends worth it.
+1 to this. Whenever I buy anything Bass related I tell myself that the gigs pay for it (which they do).
21. I started off playing guitar but always found myself drawn to the Bass. It's what I hear in songs, I never hear the lyrics much, in fact I don't think I know the words for a complete song. I much prefer Bass to guitar.
