1. Plus they match your interior decor! Black/blue room, black basses with blue-wrapped strings!
2. Was wondering if the scratch plates on Sandberg JJ5 are compatible with those on Fender Jazz Vs Any Sandberg owners out there able to tell me? Thanks, Rick
3. Have always set my EQ to a frown with a low mid bais. Just did it instinctively!
4. It shall be mine at last! :brow:
5. Even if the auditions had been "open" the chosen player would still have had to have been eye candy. I wonder if he'll actually let her play on any recordings? I doubt it.

Bump. Back again.
9. Is this the AGC Finn? Strange how this hasn't shifted, but the market in this country is all about retro-shaped bargains at the moment. Times we're in, I guess. I agree with Warwickhunt - why hide away such a nice bass? May as well play it till the market turns or you decide not to sell after all. Having said that I know how bass stands can take up lots of room......

Seiwa Bass?

That's a really great looking bass. For a "cheaper" instrument it sure seems to be made of nice bits of wood and hardware.
11. IMHO the best way to approach a fiver is to switch towards a floating thumb style technique. Playing with an anchor on a 5 will work for some, but most will encounter muting issues. Problems with strings ringing can make a five string bass bass feel very cramped and unruly to play. With the floating thumb playing the extra string gets reduced to the simple issue of lifting your right wrist a little higher. I love five stringers as I can play far more stuff in the middle of the neck. I rarely need to play a low B, but it's nice to have. I also don't like fiddling about with tunings.
12. Ah, good old Encores. Will be from the 90s I think.
13. I'd recommend either the floating thumb (which is what I use) or a moveable anchor. Stretching your hand from a static thumb position on a pickup could really hamper your playing, IMHO. Each to their own, however!
14. I wouldn't pay a premium for "mojo", but then Fender's stuff is very good these days so I don't really see the need. Picked up a 2009 US P5 earlier this year and it plays wonderfully. May get a Jazz 5 next year.
15. A friend has an ancient cheapo guitar amp that would sometimes pick up European short wave radio. I think he still uses it.
16.
The lack of interest for this bass is absolutely stunning... I really thought it would have gone in a breeze
I think modern shapes are having bit of a hard time at the moment, the current fashion in the UK is for the vintage look. On top of that the UK economy isn't the best right now so basses seem to be taking longer to shift. Looks like a great bass - I'm sure a buyer will turn up!
17.
It is up to buyers to decide if they want to deal with people in far away countries and take the associated risks involved with a long distance deal.
Of course, but people should be warned.
18. Could be a piece of electrical black tape to stop thumb wear, but can't be sure. Looks like a bargain, though.
Hi - sent you a PM. Was wondering what the black thing above the front pickup is? Cheers, B.
19. Get the 5 string version!
20. You should be able to get a s/h Warwick Corvette Standard Ash for around what you have. Here's a brand new one for only £650! http://www.reidys.com/index.pl?submit=View...PriceComparison Also have you thought about a s/h Sandberg Basic 5? Should be within your reach.
21. Perhaps get in contact with Shuker and look into a swamp ash bodied Jazz Standard? They start at £835. http://www.shukerguitars.co.uk/jspec.htm
22. Fender now do a 5 string P bass and they've done it correctly - simply add a string.
23. The current MIA basses are very well made. They have also added lightweight tuners and a decent bridge. Well worth the money and should hold their value well.
24. BO Thumbs can be had for very good money. The tone is great, really thick and growly. They are built like tanks, but the five stringer is also as heavy as one! Because of the weight many folk seem to record on these and take the Fenders and MMs out on tour. Seeing as you already have loads of other options for gigging on your sig, maybe you should go to the "dark side" in full-on fashion with a Thumb
