1. Got this as a trade but prefer my GK MB800 fusion. Works fine. Price includes delivery. Based near Dundee [attachment=248867:TC 750.jpg]
2. I have one - it is the best amp I have had so far, and I've had a few. I use it in preference to my Eden WT800. I have had a Reidmar 750 which sounded great, but just wasnt for me. I traded the Reidmar for a TC RH750, and again is a good sound but the MB800 Fusion sounds more appropriate for my playing style. It is bright and gets very agressive if needed. The EQ is voice well and it has *heaps* of volume. I usually play with 2 x Big Baby II (due to a very loud drummer) - I am never past 10 o clock. Even with 1 cab/8 ohms it is plenty loud, and with a sensible volume band I'm not past 10 o clock on the master out! Lighweight, compact, loud and sounds great. Oh, and the lights look great How much worth it is spending the extra money over the MB800 standard, I'm not sure - I feel I can hear the tubes in the preamp section, but that just might be psychoacoustics!
3. Probably gonna regret this, but up for sale is this lovely and rare Yamaha BB 2024CX in satin black. I bought this to go along side my 2025x, but I cant justify having both! Sounds amazing, plays great. best sounding passive bass there is IMHO. Apart from some very minor scratches on the back, this is mint. Comes with case and case candy and owners certificate. Based near Dundee. Can courier for cost (probably around 20 quid). If you want more pics, just message me and I can email you. Trades: Possibly could be interested in a Headless Status S2 Classic
4. Seymour Duncan do the Quarter Pound 5 string P-bass. Great pickup! I have a used one for sale if you are interested.
5. May be a silly question, but would a decent pre-amp pedal (such as a sadowsky, tech21, Tonebone) be sufficient to drive an active PA speaker - specifically a Barefaced FR800. I've recently bought these and just received the FR1400 sub. Not tried the sub yet, but the FR800s impressed the hell out of me and my band mates. I own a pair of BB2s which is my gigging rig. These are needed to get over our incredibly loud drummer. We just use a vocal PA and the backline volume is set against the drums. Just for shits and giggles, I'd like to try using the FR1400 and FR800 combined as my back line - just once Not sure what I've got to drive it though - DI post EQ from an amp? If not, I'd need to get a decent pre amp pedal. I did try my behringer tech 21 clone, but I dont think its got enough juice - there was not the volume I expected coming out the speakers. My other bands will be using the full Barefaced rig, with everything through the PA and quite back line. I'm considering going in ears, but not sure. I do love my BB2 cabs Next gig I'll need the sub for is next month, and I want to fire it up and feel the flap!
6. BUMP! and price drop. If anyone has a Thumb 5 or Status S2 I might be interestd.
7.
Photos don't work.
Send me a message PawelG, I can sent some pics to an email.
8. Bought new, been in my Squier VM 5 string - just fancy a change. 75 quid, delivered. Here's them (and me) in action: https://www.youtube....h?v=iJSGskGwFLw
9.
That's really good! what are your OC2 settings?
CHeers man. Octave 1 and direct level maxed out, octave 2 is off
10.
I've got to learn this for an upcoming gig so if you have the dots or tab that'd be appreciated. I'm only really beginning to learn to read dots but thought it would be a good lesson for me. Ideally if you have both.....oh yeah then I have to transpose it to another key as the band want to do it in D
Sorry mate, I worked it out by ear - just look at what my hands are doing, should make it easier to work out.
11. I just had to learn this bassline and I think I've got it pretty accurate bar a couple of untight bits and a few accuracy discrepencies with the original - each fill in the mid section is different, and they are all ace. It took me a while to work out, thought it might be useful for someone to see what my hands are doing if they want to learn it (its how I often learn new tunes, seeing what other people are playing) The Boss OC2 is great fun, though I think I can hear clipping at times with it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fwp0plgD0_Y
12. Bought a Yamaha BB 2024cx from Ben. As described and well packaged. Cheers man!
13. bump! Also, could be interested in trades of a Yamaha BB nature.
14. That's me playing the white VM 5 on page one of this thread! I can't say enough about the quality of the SQuire VM range. For years I had completely ignored Squiers, probably because of the hunk of crap one I had in the early 90s - A P-bass, my second bass (looking back, it probably jsut needed a good truss rod tweak). The neck on this bass is great. The stock pickups were not bad at all and appeared to be alnico Vs with cloth wire. The wiring inside is top notch with good quality components. The tuners seem ok. The stock bridge is a bent bit of pot-metal, but no worse than on may fenders. Altogether a superb 5 string p-bass for not a lot of money - cant really see how it could be improved by spending an extra 1000 quid on an american on. There is no problems with the B-string on this bass either. Played live the sound is meaty, p-bass goodness all the way. I've been playing bass 27 years and have had dozens through my hands. The quality of modern budget instruments is outstanding, way better than back in the day. You get the odd dodgy ones, for sure, but good ones are excellent for upgrading into superb beasts. I have a VM 77 Jazz which has been suped up with a badass II, Delano PUPS, Hipshot tuners and a John East pre-amp. Great sounding bass and the neck is probably the nicest one I have on my many basses - action is sooo low with no fret buzz. Feels amazing! In fact, here's a vid of that bass (off topic, I apologise - remove if you want admin): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8NnCnqAF2SA
15. bump! Message me an email and I'll send you pics
