Been using a WT800 for a while, but recently got myself a Reidmar 750 which has performed great at the past few gigs. I had to play in a massive, undefiled hall on friday and I was using my Reidmar through 2 x BIG BABY II Cabs. The amp was loud, very loud, up about half way but I couldnt get a good sound at this volume. However, the room was cavernous and not very full with reflective surfaces everywhere. Not a good sound in general. I wasn't sure if it was the room, or my amp being pushed which resulted in the unsatisfactory sound. So for yesterdays gig, I set both my amps up and decided to switch between the two. I know the Class D debate has been raging for a while, and I've been a firm believer that Class D amps sound just fine. However, I couldn't help but thinking my Eden would have sounded better on the big stage. I used WT800 at an outdoor gig recently and my was reliably told by musician friends that the bass sounded fantastic. And the better sounding amp last night was............the Eden. The Reidmar does sound brilliant. It is a great sounding, and portable amplifier. I did the first half of the gig using it, and I thought that it sounded great and didn't think I needed anything else. How much better could a bass rig sound thought I? I finished one song and quickly switched over to my Eden. Pretty much flat EQ and an immediate fatness was noticeable off the bat. Chunky. When I dialled a bit more bass in, it was just heaven. I was using a passive bass for the gig, my Yamaha 2025x. We're a classic rock band with one guitar. I am a pretty dynamic player, using all styles and playing all over the neck. The Eden just killed. I run it bridged at 4Ohms, so 1100 watts into my two BBII cabs. In this limited and not very scientific comparison, I would say that the old, heavy amp out performed the new light weight Class D head. Not by a great amount, but noticeable I would happily gig with the Reidmar - it does sound good. But the WT800 just sounds killer. And its not too heavy, can lift it with one hand. I'll keep the Reidmar as my back up amp. Hard to say if its just personal preference for the sound, but the Eden seemed to have more clout/heft/girth (ugh, sorry, choose your cliche)

Been a mark king fan since I was a kid, but I've only really learned a handful of tunes in 25 years! I got Stuart Claytons books and have decided to brush up my reading and playing. I got my hands on a JayDee Supernatural Series II last year - it had to get re-fretted but I've not really used it a great deal. Until now. I thought I'd try it out at my regular gig (classic rock) and it actually sounds really good for rock stuff. Not a one trick pony at all. This is not a perfect rendition, but I'm quite happy with it seeing as I'd only learned all the nuances that day and recorded it a few hours later. The main riff changes subtly each verse. Cant recommend the Stuart Clayton books enough btw (Bass recorded straight into sound card via XLR out on the bass; Bass about 90%, Middle Centre, Treble About 80%. Back pick up. Just got this. First time it was turned on was last nights gig. Bottom line - its very good. And very loud. I've been using a WT800 for a while with my current main gig. The drummer is *loud*. We just use a vocal PA. My poor WT550 was limiting most of the time trying to keep up with the guitarist and the drummer. Even through 2 x Big Baby II cabs!! I've been running my WT800 bridged into my cabs and it sounds great - I love the Eden sound. I thought I would try something a bit different and really liked the idea of the Reidmar with its adjustable compression and drive. I used my Japenese 62 reissue precision (with Quarter pounder pickups) for the first and my MTD 535-24 for the second set. First of all - this is loud. Very loud. I was between 9 and 10 o'clock on my master out last night and it was scorching! Sound - I was under the impression that EBS was meant to give a transparent sound. This was one of the main reasons I bought it. To my ear there is a scoop in the midrange with it compared to my Eden amps (or my Eden amps have a midrange bump. Not sure). Its not much, but I think its there. However, once compensated for, the amp really sings! The drive control is great. I normally like a super clean sound, but I experimented last night with the drive - it really thickens up the sound. Very usable indeed. There is only one guitarist in this band, so I'm having to fill up a lot of space. The extra grit really made a difference Its a great amp and will probably become my main gigging amp. I'll know more once I've tried it in a variety of venues.

I use an Eden WT800 bridged into two Big Baby 2 cabs with the horns fully open - it an absolute beast of a rig! Crazy how cheap you can get high end amps now, I got my eden for just over £400.

I've just sold my Warwick Corvetter $$ 5 which had the best B string I have heard, probably even better better than my MTD 535-24. It was seriously phat and not flabby at all. And it was a 34 inch neck. Truly awesome bass.
