Here's us playing Opium Trail at McChuills in Glasgow the other week. Bass is through a sansamp Steve Harris SH1, pretty much with the Phil Lynott settings. Bass is a Fender American Precision II in Dark night finish, stock apart from a steve harris mirror scratchplate. Rotosound RS77 flatwounds 50-110. Recorded live (bad hayfever that day, frog in my throat which seriously affected my singing). We're playing at the Blue Lamp in Aberdeen next week.. 8pm start. 15 quid on the door but you can get advance tickets for a few quid cheaper via skiddle.

Dirty power/dimmer circuit causing weird Class D amp noises?
doc40hz posted a topic in Amps and Cabs
Looking for some technical advice. Recently purchased a second hand Orange TB500 bass combo - the isobaric 2x12 one. Sounded fine at home. Took it to a gig and hooked a PJB C4 up to it as well (set to 4ohms on back of orange) During the first song, it developed weird noises - digital sounding clipping noises at considerable volume. Unhooked the PJB cab and put back to 8ohms. Same problem Switched to my newly acquired backup amp - a TC electronic BQ500. I'd never used this before. This was better but still sounded weird. DIdnt sound right through the C4 on its own or using the orange 2x12 as a cab. Wasnt sure if the speakers were damaged by the weird noise that came through. Low notes were disappearing. Set up the rig yesterday and had a good play at gig volume for half an hour through the orange and the TC and both cabs - sounds fine to me. Speakers sound fine. Both amps sound fine. Very odd. I think perhaps the problems started when the venue dimmed the lights. It was the function room of a golf club. My amp was plugged into different plugs to the PA and I wonder if these were on the dimmer circuit? Could the problems I experience be due to a power source issue? -

Just returned a P35 back to bass direct. Great bass, but not for me - I'm a huge fan of my 2025 and wanted to see how the P35 would compare. No faults at all with the bass. Plays great and sounds decent enough. However, it was too different from my 2025 (I know, its a different instrument so differences are expected). Differences: -Neck on the P35 is flatter in profile and thinner front to back. -Bridge pickup doesnt have as much "bark" on the P35. -The pickup volumes are pretty evenly matched on the BB2025. On the P35, the P is way louder and having both PJ full is quieter than the P alone. The J is not as loud. -The overall tone of the BB2025 is "thicker" than the P35 in my opinion. P35 is brighter and probably has a more modern sound. Didn't get a chance to use it live unfortunately. Hadnt used my BB2025x for years and was blown away by how solid it sounded at 2 different gigs last weekend. Complements from our very discerning sound guy too.

Fantastic condition Elwood 5 that was built for bass direct from which I purchased it. I was so impressed I got one built To my specs and this has been largely unused since. chambered body and lightweight hardware- it’s my lightest bass by far. I'm certain this is the bass in this video; It's the only one with these specs in the video section of the Maruszczyk youtube channel.

Fantastic condition MIM, upgraded tuners and tonerider pickup. Wee mark at the headstock and blemish (hard to see, next to thumb).4.37kg according to luggage scales Bought from basschats very own Jezzaboy for my Thin Lizzy tribute but I ended up with a MIJ precision that I’m now using. price includes uk delivery in a gig bag.

Just the three The Boyz, Mr Pink (Level 42) and Scream for Me (Iron Maiden). Plus my wedding band, Danger Zone. To be honest, it's floored me running three bands this year. Taken a lot of time and money to get them up and running with not much success, despite us being decent! I don't know the right people to get gigs and I'm hiring venues and promoting the gigs myself. The Boyz is doing reasonably well though.
