    The Trinity

These are my beloved trinity which are now either under offer or up for sale. Its been a joy to have owned them these past years but needs must and you can't keep these precious things forever. I thought I'd share them with you. Left to Right 1962 custom colour slab Board Transition Jazz, Aug 1960 Stackpot, 1959 Transition P bass
  2. its a lovely thing indeed.
  3. Well you should know I'm real - I bought your Fodera 🙂 But yes I will post some more.
  4. This is my 100% Original 1962 transition Factory white 3 pot slab board jazz bass. Its a very rare beast indeed because it was one of the first custom colour 3 pot jazz bases to be made in April 62 from stack pot stock. There are far fewer of these than any stackpot you could find. In so far as I know I'm the second owner. It's also 100% complete including the original mutes, chrome covers, and original brown hard shell case. The case has one broken latch, and has had two additional latches installed at one time, although one of the additional latches was removed. This authentic '62 Jazz Bass looks AMAZING with the consistent play wear of only one player since it was purchased new. There are nicks + dings, finish checking, and other cosmetic wear including finish worn from the back of the neck giving it a nice smooth feel. The bass itself is structurally sound with no cracks, breaks, or repairs. All electronics work and sound great as all solder joints remain original and untampered with. The pickguard is intact and appears to have never been removed. The weight is 9 lbs 7.4 If I had to characterise this bass I would use the term funk-monster. It plays effortlessly and super fast. The tone is thick and full of rich harmonics. Its been valued at £25k by ATB but I'm open to sensible offers. If it doesn't sell here - that's where it will be going for sale. I purchased it some years ago from Olivia's Vintage in the US. The original ad is still available and has lots of pictures. https://www.oliviasvintageguitars.com/bass/guitars/5725 I'm looking for a UK sale if I can get it - but Europe is fine. This baby is not going in the post so a handover in person.
  5. I have a custom base built by Andrew (Anaconda) build quality is top notch. I wanted a bright 5 sting PJ as my main working tool in a funk band. The bass is very comfortable to play, fast and the tone is what I was looking for for the job. Andrew is a real gent. His Essence range is superb for the price and much better in my view than a Sire ( having owned one). Andrew is fussy about what goes out, anything going through Andrew's hand is going to pass muster.
  6. You tell me.......................... its a fantastic player too. I prefer the tone of the 79 to the earlier bases for fretless. I think they are the equivalent of a 59-60 p bass to the 57 if you ask me. its the precise moment they got it just right.
  7. Feeler for serious buyers. This is my August 1960 Fender Jazz Bass. It is all genuine and in good order, Pots, pickups and solder joints are are undisturbed. Includes the original case in excellent condition. I bought this from the US some years back and I can tell you its one of the best playing basses I have ever laid hands on. She has been on flats all her life so the frets are in great condition. She comes complete with her original ashtrays in excellent condition and a full set of mutes. Sadly it is time to let her go. No trades, no kidneys, no children please.
  8. But Moollon come from South Korea.
  9. Moollon, can't loose.
  10. Another shout for anaconda. Andrew just built me this PJ. Its really something.
  11. I had a sixer of this for years. Really solid beast. Always played well.
  12. It's a bit like discovering the opposite sex when you were a teenager. It's different and really quite pleasurable. After a few fumbling attempts at the unfamiliar bottom end you soon feel at home🙂
  13. Hi Goran myes noted I know you have the B524. I played on over in YJ's workshop - outstanding instruments. He had on hollow boody left - I was so - tempted. As for the pre CBS yes its true they are different. My 66 was sweet and aggressove but the neck was not great. I've playes a couple of amazing 66's tho
  14. I had a 66 and I have a 62 jazz. My Moollon is darker ( less bright harmonics) then my 66 was, a little less output than my 62. It has warmer tones of the pre CBS basses. It's more stable less 'quirky' than the early fenders. If there was such a thing I would call it a 'recording quality' pre CBS. Its very organic and the feel is really natural. It doesn't smack you in the face and sits in the mix better than any J I have had. It's oddly more like a p than a J in that regard but it has all that J tone. Mine is a 5 so a little different. If I wanted 4 I'd have had this by now. I don't know if this is a 60's or 70s bridge position but for £1850 ..... enough said.
  15. The only reason this is still here is that enough people just haven't played one yet.... this is a steal.. I have one with one, & on the way. Hands down the best pre cbs tone without selling a kidney.
  16. That'll be your bass then....
  17. That is just a thing of loveliness.....
  18. I've tried one and they are very good. I was pretty impressed. Andrew has a few in at the moment.
  19. That's a lot of bass for the money!
  20. Finished, ready to collect next week............... what u think?
  21. Ohhhh, that makes my teeth itch.........
  22. Nope, lookl like shipping is going to be held due to the little bugs, Export ban................. Ah well......... I'll have to wait.
  23. Just got these pics in from And at Moollon - can't wait for it to arrive. PV to go with my JV
  24. That wasn't my point. It wasn't about value or collectability it was about the fact that once you chop this down it's nothing. Not what it was, not better and not even residual with a residual value. Its a piece of its time, leave it be and get something light if you want.
