  1. Oh my, someone is going to get one helluva bass for a very fair price. Especially with those upgrades! As @horrorshowbass has already said: "You've really made a great bass even better". GLWTS.
  2. Yeah, I may have to re-think my thoughts in my original post. It does seem the old Thunder's are creeping up a little more. Here's an original Thunder II, only thing is it's in Japan, going for a tad over $1,800 (£1,300) - plus shipping. 😏🤔 (Seems another dealer has the same bass -- or at least it's the same picture -- at a slightly lower price) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/254810812956
  3. Nice to see another Gino Vannelli fan here. I actually got to see that same band in 1992 in London at The Marquee (when it moved to Charing Cross Rd). Mike Miller on guitar, of course, who also played bass on one number. Drummer Enzo Tedesco totally blew me away, too. The whole gig was excellent. Only thing was Joe Vannelli playing all the other bass parts on keys/synth. He did an excellent job but just a shame they didn't go with a real bottom-ender!

  5. No worries. Hope the sale goes through. It really is a beauty!
  6. Following on from the optimistic Gibson Grabber (posted recently by @ash), I just spotted this Westone Thunder 3 with a BIN price of £2,000!! Starting bid is 1,400. As the owner of two of the earlier Thunder II basses (see my signature pic), I can testify that these babies punch well above their weight and are true classics from the Japanese Matsumoku factory. But 2 grand?! Seriously? Or am I missing something here? 🤨 https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/324787506820
  7. Not in the Dark Theme, it's dark text on the dark background. (Click 'Theme' at the bottom of the page to change). As for the bass itself.... just WOW!! 👍👍 GLWTS
  8. Here, There & Everywhere - Four Liverpudlians
  9. Fog On The Tyne - Lindisfarne
  10. The Ketchup Song - Audiosmog
  11. +1 for Google Calendar although Doodle is also worth a look. https://doodle.com/en/
  12. After much searching online I settled on this one from Musiclily on Amazon (they're also on Ebay). It's still there along with a couple of useful reviews from other purchasers. Here's the link: https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B019IDNW90/
  13. Apologies if this has been mentioned previously but when I view any page, at the bottom it says, "Recently Browsing: 0 members" and "No registered users viewing this page". Including me. It's only when I refresh the page that I can then see who else (if anyone) might be viewing.
  14. Don't Go - Yazoo
  15. Motor Bikin' - Chris Spedding
  16. Midnight Rider - Greg Allman
  17. Got it. Thanks. 👍
  18. That's a nice comparison of the old and the new. Shows that the fundamental Stingray sound is right there in both models. I'm curious to know how you recorded them. I'm assuming DI into interface? Or was it an amp/combo setup (DI or mic-ed)? Were external EQ's flat?
  19. Raised On Robbery - Joni Mitchell
  20. Oh my...!!!! 😏🤔
  21. Me an' Mrs Jones - Billy Paul
  22. Down The Dustpipe - Status Quo
  23. Doctor, I'm just asking for a friend who may need some help as he actually doesn't mind the ads, especially if they're music-related and even better, bass-related. That said, he's not sure it would be possible to filter such ads accordingly, anyway. Nevertheless should my friend seek therapy or further treatment? I look forward to your response (I mean my friend does). 😏🙄
  24. Superb band, I still have "Those Southern Knights" on vinyl along with a few of their other albums. I also saw them in around the mid-70's although, regretfully, Larry Carlton couldn't make it and was replaced by Billy Rogers. Still a great gig, though, and one of a string of three amazing gigs I saw within a few weeks of each other, that being The Crusaders followed by Return To Forever followed by Weather Report. (Those were the days! )
