  1. Plus £ has gone up, highest it's been for a while at $1.35, was at $1.20 in Aug 2019 when these came out.
  2. Just Jan sales. I've seen a couple of Sandberg Panthers on for £1.5k and not the usual £2.2k - nothing to do with quality, just stuff not shifting with what's going on. I picked up my Spector in some Anderton sales in 2019 and was lucky to get for a great price.
  3. Now just £575 at GAK. Defo not so crap at that price. And as you say, the rest of it looks very good on paper.
  4. At the end of the day I'd love a Spector with a reverse PJ set up on 5 string (EMGs plus 35" scale) but they can't be arsed to bring one out, so this is a poor man's alternative and entirely appropriate therefore it has a rough 'red neck' 😁
  5. Yeah but possibly something that can be easily sorted with a bit of extremely fine sandpaper? You're much more expert on that sort of thing than me.
  6. Reverse PJ EMGs, 3 band EQ and 35" scale are all pretty promising. Unless of course that's 5" too big for you.
  7. Cheers Andy, you've reminded me I need to be getting me one of these! 😉
  8. Was just looking up an old thread on this bass... ...came across your post from a while back and thought what you were saying completely tied in with what I was hearing as set out in the OP! Appreciate it's not everyone's experience but it's certainly both of ours - so I thought I'd post it on here so that it's not lost.
  9. ...but it seems to me there is a bit of bloody mindedness on both sides here. Have I understood correctly from the posts on this thread that the EU is essentially saying: "We'd like to give you 3 boxes of chocolates", To which the UK replied: "Thanks, but we'd just like one box please." EU: "In that case, you can't have any."
  10. You say this as though it was a fact. But it's not. Check the number of jobs in the City in 2016 and the number today. I think you'll find it's gone up. Reciprocal arrangements - that's the key point, thanks.
  11. I guess my question is - whether this musician visa is available to any musician from anywhere on the planet and therefore potentially available to itinerant Brits? And if so, have you just solved this?!! Haha - that is nicely put! But as you say it's the used market (discussed elsewhere at length) and more specifically touring musicians that is the key point of this thread and more than happy to stick to that if the odd bit of "balance" is not needed 😉 But brilliant if Woody has just sorted it!
  12. Interesting. Does it allow ANY / ALL non-EU nationals to access this and does this cover musicians touring or is it just a tourist visa?
  13. Probably can't justify getting given that my Zoom B1-4 is already an excellent little headphone amp with fx and drum machine built in. But the Nux does look really neat!
  14. I agree that parallel fx routing in the Zoom pedals would be a major step forward. I suspect it will require an upgraded chipset for them to deliver this, but I'm looking forward to it - particularly if they can provide in something as compact as a B1-4!
  15. Am I correct in thinking there are sadly NO 5 string BBs with the reversed pups?
  16. Tbf they also didn't join the EU in a joint vaccine purchasing project. Thank goodness eh? It's not all one-way traffic here.
  17. Thanks Chris - reading through the thread until your post I had assumed what everyone was speaking about was fact rather than conjecture. Our largest wealth generator and source of tax revenues for the NHS etc is Financial Services. The EU is refusing to grant equivalence to the UK despite the fact we have essentially the same rules currently. They have, however, granted equivalence to the US a long while back. So basically they would prefer to punish the UK and see business go to the US rather than reach a sensible deal that works for both the UK and the EU. None of this is one sided with a simple playbook of an evil UK vs saintly EU. It's certainly not so straightforward.
  18. (Also see above). It's the one with the "Happy ending."
  19. Very impressive! You holding onto your various bits of handiwork or moving them on to make way for the next project?
  20. So MattiZ, dear chap, I have just moved on the BB 735A I bought a few days after you (it sold on eBay within 48 hours of my listing it there). I was recalling this post of yours and thinking just how much I now agree with what you said. Like you, I definitely seem to prefer my purely passive BB (in your case the entry level of the current line up, BB 235, and in my case a BB1025) over the active circuit 735A. That was my second 735A and this one was definitely set up pretty well from the outset. But there was just something not quite as special about the active tone on the bass compared to richness of both the P and J on the passive 1025. I appreciate that I'm very much of the view that the BB1025 is a frankly superb 5er particularly for the money and that it sets a very high bar, but I wonder if this is boiling down to your very insightful observation about the 735A that "the preamp sounds, well, quite generic". I think you've hit the nail on the head.
  21. Try any one of these discussion forums all started in the last 3 weeks... 22. @stewblack - what an excellent little review, thanks. It's got a built in octave up rather than octave down, right?
  23. Well I'm now a bass down and nothing bought so far, so does that mean I'm currently in the lead? Bit like West Ham being second in the league for 10 mins last season, I suspect 😁
