Yup - I'd avoid the Line 6 Pod Go for exactly the same reason (lack of parallel routing) in the £300+ price bracket and get a used HX Effects instead. But that's 'cos I particularly value the parallel routing option. I wonder if they have an upgraded chip set in the G6 vs the Zoom B1-4 / B3N? Additional DSP is always welcome! I presume that must be the case given the additional capability e.g. IR loading.

From the gear page - pricing seems to be ￥45,000, which would be around £329 mark in the UK. Much as I love Zoom multis, as this doesn't seem to provide parallel routing a used HX Effects or HX Stomp, which both do and come up pretty regularly used for similar money, would get still my vote at this price point. Not tempted to upgrade from my budget Zoom B1-4 just yet!

In terms of a decent pre-amp - got my eye on the recently released EBS Stanley Clarke (sister thread running concurrently, if you've not seen already) - seems to be getting rave reactions from fellow BC'ers, and it does look superb. As @Doddy mentions the recommended EUBs are in the £2k+ range, so it seems like that I'd need to go from the £400 mark for my Stagg EUB to a 'very decent' quality EUB. I guess I may end up with one of the ones mentioned eventually - and the portability of the Eminence is very attractive if that packs down into a golf buggy case! Just wondering if there is an intermediate rung on the ladder at around the £1k mark that would still be significant improvement in quality / sound over the Stagg?

Although I've heard it mentioned, I've not really used that particular wizzardy - talk me through where / what you would be using that for? Will you be reviewing it with a double bass and/or EUB as well as a standard electric fretless bass with piezzo pups? That would be very useful.

Love the fact that it has variable HPF - that would be great in itself, but as an alternative it offers a variable frequency notch filter to deal with specific frequency resonance: you don't get to see that on your average EQ pedal. These are available on both channels - so you could have classic HPF on Channel A and notch filter on Channel B (or vice versa). And all that is in addition to semi-para mids. Very very neat! Parallel loop for the rest of your pedal board if you're using, and then it seems to me to offer two separate outputs - one to go into your amp plus an additional DI out (with speaker sim) to simultaneously(?) run straight to the PA. Oh and the inputs can be blended A+B as well as being alternative A OR B. And it's all analogue which should virtually eliminate both latency and any potential comb filtering that you could encounter with digital pedals when combining two channels. For good measure it doubles up as a headphone amp. Running out of reasons not to get one of these as and when I start gigging my EUB alongside my electric!

Hmmm...that ability alone does make this a very attractive option, and EBS have a great rep for their preamps.

I guess particularly neat if you're wanting to quickly and easily swap between EUB and electric bass mid set.

Been really enjoying improving my EUB playing on my Stagg 3/4 EUB during past few months. It's a great value piece of kit and exactly the right thing for me as a beginner. If I continue to work on improving my playing and start gigging with this with my 50s / 60s band next year, I'm kinda thinking that it might be nice to upgrade from this at some point in 2021, but sticking with a "free standing" EUB rather than the "stationary" EUB of the NS Design type. Be really interested to get your thoughts on and feedback on other EUBs you've had and in what way they would be a step up from the Stagg.

I guess I can better understand why the other chap was too shy to post on here now. And love the fact that comment is from someone who can't even manage to back-up their patches 😂 For the record I never really used my Stomp which is why I sold it and am only really just getting started on HX Effects, so indeed "no" in answer to your Q. I had this query from a BC'er who has just moved from HX Effects to Stomp: "I only used the Simple Pitch effect, and wanted a smaller footprint i.e. no heavy case to lug in. The Stomp also has that effect, but I’m not too blown away by it. I can’t just turn it on and off, I have to go from effect to another effect, or total Stomp bypass." Obviously one of the nice features of HX Effects is that you can go into "pedal board" mode and treat a single patch as 6 six separate effects which you can switch on and off, each with it's own stomp switch and HX Stomp does not have the equivalent ability given its smaller footprint / fewer stomp switches and single display vs 6 scribble strips. That's all well trodden ground. But I was just wondering if there is a workaround for this chap's particular issue e.g. by using snapshots or similar? Can I throw this one over to the Stomp user crew please?

@Muzz - sounds like it's getting pretty close to what you've been looking for? @marleaux62 - Mick had exactly the same thoughts (great minds and all that?) and has come up with a cunning plan for sorting! If it works, I'll leave him to share.
