  1. I'm guessing you prefer nickels and these came with steels, right?
  2. Guess I'm a little less bored, in that I've only recently started using DG dirts more regularly, BUT you can get bloomin' close using the DG sim on a Zoom B1-4 multifx and that will set you back all of £65 (and it does a lot else besides a decent DG B7K impression!) If you want a really crunchy sound that is a little less hackneyed, try a gated fuzz in front of your B7K (or in my case B7K sim on my Zoom) e.g. Tech21 Red Ripper --> B7K. Very tasty! Besides price, the other factor is that this looks like quite a sizeable pedal that will take up quite a chunk of PB space.
  3. Damn, I've had to turn down a Central London function gig next week as I'm out of town! Gutted! And I see that live music venues can open at 50% capacity and serve alcohol to ticket holders?
  4. So the new Yammy PH is not a coincidence then - and a great way to celebrate picking up where you left off! 😊
  5. I'd better sell him mine then! 😁
  6. In which case @AndyTravisis looking for a Yammy gig bag for his 414... You're welcome, gents 😊
  7. Interesting that a number of folk don't seem to have any issues with the dimensions of the gig bag - maybe it's just me and @dannybuoy who found them a little tight. I'll get a picture done with mine in later: my recollection is that it was very "snug" i.e. the top of the head was pushing against the fabric and there was no space in between i.e. another 1cm at the top would be perfect just to provide a little more cushion. No dispute that it's otherwise a very nice gig bag. And obviously the hard cases for the NE2 and P34/5s are also very nice indeed, although heavy!
  8. I started reading that and started thinking, blimey he's got seventeen 734As!! Wall of shame getting updated right now!
  9. +1 ^^ for the Big Singles, huge fan of the Nordy pup growl! Although I do like the idea of noiseless Big Splits a lot if they sound almost the same. Barts seem to get quite a marmite reaction - not a great deal of love for the budget Barts in the SR standards, but the posher stuff on the Prestige are well liked. I get the feeling Bartolini diluted their brand by going budget, which is a shame, just like Sadowsky seem to be doing right now from a thread currently running! Sometimes chasing sales for its own sake can be fool's gold: there's a reason the Porsche 911 is still the world's most profitable car (not that I will ever own one!) - hmmm I'm going seriously off topic now, lol! Yeah go for Nordy Big Singles (or Splits) 😁
  10. @Sanshiro very nice! I'll add you to the "wall of shame" on the OP!
  11. Just ordered a pack of the mediums - you get 25 for £4 posted. That's my boards sorted!
  12. And yet heavy metal was born in the foundries of the Midlands! And some of the world's best chocolate was once made there!
  13. Awww really sorry to hear. I had a similar experience on a Fender 5 string a few years back, in that case it was a little twisted. I guess warping of necks on older basses is perhaps my single biggest fear on a bass purchase. As well as looking good if done well, a laminate neck can provide additional strength and rigidity - I'm probably being over cautious but given a choice I'll definitely go down the laminate route these days; something that one of my fav bass makers, Yamaha, seem to do as standard these days.
  14. Could these statements possibly be at all connected? 😁 When you say "another 4 string BB" does that mean you've got already got a couple in your herd? If so, what have you got (obligatory pics required, of course!)?
  15. Congrats! Looking forward to the pics and review. How about a shot lined up next to your fav 1200S?
  16. Yeah but if you're selling to a global market, London and Manchester are probably the two strongest name recognition brands in the UK? (Maybe followed by Oxford and Cambridge?) And I say that as someone hailing from a Midlands city with double the population of Manchester. So from a marketing perspective it kinda makes very good sense.
  17. Ouch re your worst! Were you not able to check it out before buying / did you manage to get any compensation?
  18. Dammit - just seen Hooky's old ad for his BB1200 which was on for £500. In hindsight should have bitten his hand off and had it finished a la Tony 'kin'ell! Yamaha BB 1200 * sold* - Basses For Sale - Basschat Hmmm. I wonder if the new owner might be tempted to part with it? There's one on in the FS with a similar finish, but in better nick. On for £1,200 which is sadly well outside my budget, and seemingly everyone else's!
  19. Just rediscovering this thread and to revisit my notes on Behringer RD-8 vs Roland TR-08 to remind myself why I went for the Behringer! Despite lockdown this got put to one side - I found a very usable drum machine on the Zoom B1-4 which has been great for home practice. But I'm hoping to rectify that in 2021: having had a clear out of a bunch of pedals, particularly those that require PC editing, I've hopefully got a bit more headspace Did you manage to put yours to good use and come up with any cool drum tracks?
  20. Btw - thought this was a neat visual presentation of what was new in 3.0: New Effects in 3.0 Helix Floor, Helix Rack, Helix LT, Helix Native, HX Effects, HX Stomp Plus a really helpful description of what they each do: Helix 3.0 Release Notes - HELIX/HX - Line 6 Community
  21. Thanks for sharing that. Apparently: "The Helix 3.01 update addresses potential severely corrupted audio output. Due to this, we recommend updating your Helix family device as soon as possible. This issue may also be experienced on Helix Native; an update for Native will be available in the very near future."
  22. I think there were a few more "MA" models - @gobasserk has had them all from what I can tell! And then of course the BB NE2 - which isn't really a "proper" BB in my books! (see my post yesterday / Page 177 showing design similarities to my Spector Euro LX5). It is however a truly wonderful bass!
  23. Looks identical to the one I've got, which is a little too "snug" for my 1025 i.e. could do with another 1cm + height. I wonder if they sorted out that issue out with the new batches.
  24. This was shared on the "covers bands woe" thread earlier: 'BEST OF MY LOVE' (the EMOTIONS) cover by the HSCC - YouTube It's a classic older BB 5000 in action and sounding great. And this one - really brings out the tone on the 1024 / 2024: Patrice Rushen - Forget Me Nots [Bass Cover] - YouTube
