Blimey you do live in a sheltered world. Where do you think a big proportion of our taxes comes from to fund our public services? Perhaps start with profitable private sector companies paying the wages of millions of individuals who pay income tax and NI and VAT on stuff they buy; and the companies, themselves, pay corporation tax on their profits. The alternative is Communism where the State does everything. I think you'll find it wasn't that popular.

That's a really good hack! Please do post the link to the seller you bought from. My suggestion for making a MB combo better is to add "presence" to the sound to prevent too much high end roll-off (if that's not your thing). I do that by boosting the high mids at +1.5kHz and 'usable' treble at +6.5kHz each by 6 dB. The older LM2 and LM3 heads have a considerable EQ gap between 800Hz and 10kHz so I've sorted by either using an EQ pedal, or pair with a Tech 21 VTDI which has a "bite" (= presence) button. Wished I'd discovered that particular refinement before moving on my MB AC 121 Lite combo a couple of years back, which for me is still one of the very best combos available and the only one that I'm aware of that can deliver a full 500W through its 12" speaker without need for an extension cab, but I'm putting the presence EQ boost to good use with my more modest MB 121H combo where it works a treat.

Well I'm very glad I'm a citizen of this country with a free NHS, is all I can say. If you feel most other nations and governments are doing it better with their health systems...some of you really are a miserable, whiny bunch! Lol! I guess having spent time in the 2/3 poorer part of the world, gives me a clear appreciation of just how fortunate we all are in the UK.

Just heard that the UK government has procured more vaccines per head of population than any other country on the planet. Wow! Even if it's only in the Top 10 of countries around the world, on a per capita basis, that would still be very impressive. No Spitfires in sight, but I just think it's good, for once, to give such foresight and credit where it's due.

@0175westwood29 - I think I misread that as the SY-1 was being replaced, but I think you're just going to swap the running order around? Interested you're thinking of going for a new GT Core rather than a used Stomp? I was very tempted but couldn't really justify the price premium of a new GT Core, or indeed the Boss SY-1000 which is essentially a GT Core + SY 300 all under one bonnet and even further up the food chain in terms of pricing, over my modestly priced but very capable used HX Effects.

You've got some awesome kit on that board! If you mail it to BC OCD Services Ltd c/o @lee650 they will (a) tidy it up beautifully for you (for the cost of return postage) and (b) probably put an offer in for several pedals... 😁

Actually in defence of Hermes, it may have been UPS in my case, I can't exactly remember now - I've looked back through my emails but have only kept the refund confirmation. I've not had any issues with UPS when I've used them myself. ^^ This, except mine was 12 months back. They were apologetic for going around in circles for a couple of months, blaming staff cuts.

That's pretty much my story, too, albeit a much smaller item (a pedal). Hermes or UPS also very much in the frame.

Zoom B1-4 is IMO the best value bass pedal available from any manufacturer, full stop! Multifx, tuner, drum machine, headphone amp (and a pants looper). I like mine so much, I've got one on my board and a spare for my gig bag.

Just picking up on the excellent post above which appeared right at right at the start of this thread from Mr Gisser. The cool thing that I hadn't spotted that is available post update 2.90 is that we now can also split the signal by playing dynamics / how hard you're striking a note [5.45 of the YT clip below] as well as frequency crossover. That could have a lot of interesting applications and seems to me to be a very cool feature. @PatrickJ has recently introduced me to this guy - I really like the clarity of his tutorials and they're not too long either.

Most tempting thing I've seen so far is a Boss LS2 pedal at Dawsons (yes I know!) on at £63 posted, which Mr Lee650 spotted. But as I've just sold mine on the grounds I wasn't using...

Alex you could do far worse than using your own description or some tweaked variation of it: "because you're thinking this is a fuzz pedal - you can get a Jamerson Motown sound from the overdrive section, or Roger Glover with Deep Purple, or Geezer in Sabbath, or Krist in Nirvana, etc etc. And the fuzz pedal can do all the worlds of fuzz, like the synth thing, or the Larry Graham double-tracked thing, or the Ben Folds Five thing, or Geezer again, etc etc." Nothing like making reference to the sound of real world bass players to make the potential of a piece of kit come alive!

Lee continues to deplete my stock of bass gear. He gets some very nice kit at a decent price, often before I've even thought about selling it (a minty fresh Boss LS2 being the most recent case in point, although the postman liked it so much he was holding onto it for what seemed like ages). He also bought a massive Pedaltrain board and Mono case before that to put all the pedals he's bought from me on (finished pics to follow soon I am assured). I get less clutter and a timely topping up of my bass gear account. We both seem to be reasonably happy with the arrangement 😁

Yes it was a big kerfuffle. From TC's perspective they may well not have achieved anything like the sales they did if they had come clean about what the true power rating was. No one likes being blatantly lied to and there was clearly a bit of compressing of the truth going on.
