  1. Done. Name your US bass pedal for the wager and I'll reciprocate with one of the same value Yeah leave the politics aside, let's just focus on economics and facts. Key point is nor have the EU. But I'm happy to wager with Woody we will get a FTA with the US before the EU does (and we will get cheaper US bass kit as a result).
  2. Fair point. But remember that's because we struck up a FTA with Japan in 5 mins flat this year, and no reason we won't put in place one with Indonesia also in the near future. And I'd be happy to wager we will have a FTA in place with the US before the EU manages to (it took them 7 years to do their FTA with Canada!!). In which case, as well as lower VAT on Italian sourced Markbass (Italy's VAT rate is 26.5% next year), we could well have cheaper US Fenders, Mesa, 3Leaf than when we were in the EU etc etc. Oh and Cornish fishermen will hopefully get a little more than the 9% entitlement to fish stock off the Cornish cost due to French fisherman currently having 84%! But that's another story...
  3. You've really got the Yammy bug bad haven't you? Only had your lovely 1024 for 5 mins and you're already after a 734! 😂 Remind me, was the 1024 your first Yammy or do you have other models as well?
  4. "Short" sterling by buying buy $ if you believe that. It's a simple currency hedge. You stand to make a 30% return in 8 months if you are correct - go on back yourself 😉
  5. Italian VAT rates are going up to 26.5% in 2021. We will have UK VAT rates of 20% instead from 1 Jan. Looks like Markbass gear is going to get cheaper 😊
  6. Currently £1.30 to $1.00 - what are you predicting it's going to fall to? And I presume you know better than legions of currency traders who are putting their money on the line and who think that... err £1.30 : $1.00 is the right value? 😉
  7. Great purchase! Yeah that combined PJ setting is an absolute favourite for BB owners!
  8. Mick - was just about to post the same thing! And obviously there are a bunch of amps (e.g. Ashdown, Laney), cabs (anyone heard of Barefaced?), pedals (e.g. Cog). ...or Japanese, or Indonesian, or god forbid, from the USA!
  9. Congrats!! Did it come with that hard case in the price? If so you got a bargain and a great looking bass at the same time. You had a chance to put it through its paces yet? First impressions?
  10. Not quite. The GT 1000 doesn't have a synth waveform generator, nor does the SY-1, which we (you!) have correctly established to be a synth emulator. This does (see Kiwi's post above) and in editable format. That immediately puts it in a different league to the SY-1 and starting to properly compete with the C4 and FI, but with the advantage over those two excellent pedals, of a decent screen UI, and potentially even better tracking.
  11. Oh I went down that particular rabbit hole a while back and am still down there... Apart from small matter of a GT 1000 multifx included? That's the killer addition for me: Boss SY-300 (around £500) + Boss GT-1000 Core (around £620) vs Boss SY-1000 all in one box for £850 to £900.
  12. You do know that there is a very high correlation with you making comments like that and dips in my savings? 😁
  13. FWIW - penny has finally dropped for me on which pedals I particularly hate PC editing: it's those that don't have a sufficiently decent on-board display to let you know what parameters you're tweaking or at the very least which patch you're on! Most multifx's do have a half decent display and, given the breadth of what you sounds you can get out of them, make it worth the time investment (for me anyway) of getting up to speed with another set of PC editing software.
  14. Thanks Woody - I guess the lower case "sy" was what defeated my search attempt You're right its just the 13 pin GK interface. The 24 to 13 was this: https://www.joness.com/gr300/bc13_S.htm - but that's for older tech so unlikely to be relevant. The question I should have asked is how vital is the 13 pin GK interface for stuff we are likely to use this pedal for on bass? On the cost side, as someone on TB pointed out, if I'm thinking of getting the GT 1000 Core (which I as you know, I have been), then for the cost of an SY-1 or C4 on top, you can have one of these but with a synth engine that is very much more capable than the SY-1...at least that's how I'm going to justify it to the missus (and then obviously deal with the follow up question of what's a Boss SY-1? 😁) All the advantages of presets / disadvantages of loss of immediacy of dials. But as it's also doubling up as a multifx I won't mind investing the headspace involved in PC editing, which this will need, as a substitute for my Helix HX Effects which I've just recently sold.
  15. @Kiwi don't know if you have had a chance to look at this as an alternative to your C4? @Quatschmacher - as our resident synth guru, be great to have your thoughts on how you think this might stack up vs the some of the current top line synth pedals (FI and C4 in particular)? @Woodinblack - 24 to 13 pin convertor a must have or just a nice to have for this?
  16. Not sure that this has had it's own dedicated thread, so I thought I'd start one. When this was announced at NAMM 2020 I mistakenly thought this was just an eye wateringly expensive synth pedal and didn't pay it too much attention. But turns out it does a whole lot more by incorporating a bunch of effects from Boss' flagship GT-1000 multifx - which I've only recently become more familiar while checking out their newly released GT-1000 Core. If that's correct and it's delivering as a multifx, customisable synth engine and with 8 stomp switch form factor for ease of live use in package slightly larger than a Helix HX Effects, I think this could be worth investigating further. https://www.boss.info/uk/products/sy-1000/

Sold a pedal to Martin. Super easy transaction and great comms throughout - pleasure to deal with! Cheers AK
  18. It's the working man's (and woman's!) BB P34!
  19. "Digital" noise with some of the fx on the B1-4 if you listen very very carefully. But lost completely at volume and / or mid phrase. There was also some electrical interference noise with a previous PSU - but that hasn't been an issue at all with my HB IsoBrick. Maybe I've just got used to it! 😁
  20. Well I'm a massive fan of the 1024/1025s, as I'm sure everyone on this thread is bored of me saying! So whoever picks up that 1024x is in for a treat!
  21. @AndyTravis...somebody mention a Yammy bass in orange (albeit slightly burnt)? 😉
  22. Speaking of Yammy BB 735As just realised what's really holding me back from getting one: if they did a white finish I would get one today! Ok I'm shallow...
  23. All of the above points I agree with - except that they are all positives for me! I love my cabs to have clarity and articulation and the F112 delivers this in spades (and I'm sure the BB2 will too). Here's a clip I've posted elsewhere of the F112 in action, live - have a listen through decent headphones if you can - I thought the bass cut through / sounded fine in the mix?
  24. Pulling you onto this thread if I may. I've actually now got both a BB2 and a Fearless 112 - one of the pitfalls of starting a thread eh? 😁 I've not, unfortunately, had a chance to try the BB2 out in anger yet as I literally bought just a few days before the national lockdown was announced back in March - so I would recommend you check the opening posts for some really good comparisons - particularly @funkle's. And you'll have probably seen that there is a vgc F112 on for a great price in the FS - I've been very tempted to get it myself as a pairing for my existing F112, but I suspect there won't be too many occasions with my bands that would justify having a pair of them on stage!
  25. Probably one for the Yammy store in London - drop them an email?
