Yup and if a BB 2005 comes up at the same price...!
-
I'm not a C4 owner - but what an amazingly generous resource to be providing for free to your fellow bass-players. Bravo mate!

Just clicked on a couple of Yammy 735As and was gobsmacked by their current new retail prices! Actually there is one place still selling them at the old prices...Bass Direct (£749), but a couple of retailers were in the £850 ball park and the Yammy store in London has it on for an eye watering £934!

In very good condition - new in Mar 2018 and has been well looked after by both me and its former owner. If you fancy a lightweight (22 lbs) top quality addition to your sound then this could be just the ticket. Comes with bespoke Roqsolid fitted cover (worth around £40 to £50) included in the price. Collection or happy to meet up half way within a reasonable distance of E London (and will courier if you twist my arm).

One so far in the US 😁 And it would only likely apply to Stomp owners on this specific point, anyway, as HX Effects has a few more blocks already. I think his key point is that the limitation on blocks arises because Helix is over-engineering their sims? Which is the corollary of your point that a lot of guitar effects are pretty simple. - I was more interested if you, as one of our BC electronics experts, agrees he makes a fair point? Be very interesting to see if Helix allow more blocks in the Stomp on their next software update.

Interesting observation from the US thread: "As for the power comparison, this is where I put on my computer scientist hat and respond: Who cares? The only measurable end-to-end benchmark unit here is the number of effects you can stack. Boss runs circles around the big Helix in that department, actual processor specs don't matter. Maybe Line 6 is wasting (edit: replace wasting with spending, perfect emulation may matter more to some than having more effects) all those computation cycles on emulating the amps and effects down to minute details, but to my ears Boss was as good as any other digital box."

But it's not true across the board is it? British Leyland?? Dammit you're right about that bloody bass! How come you've not mentioned that before and more to the point how come I never noticed? It's going straight back to Wunjos. I'll just pretend I was the original purchaser...

Sounds? Come on, he doesn't actually use it! It's on display in his front room 😁

Very well loved from what I can tell. Only issue: Tech 21 in their wisdom have discontinued and there a bit hen's teeth!
-
No worries. Btw - was a genuine question about when else you've experienced gear failure besides your Stomp, in particular anything else in the past decade since 2010? As I mentioned, I'm kinda hoping that QC may be on the up compared to what it was a few decades back.

+1 ^^ the sexiest! 😎

Mesa M6 - still outshines every D class head I've owned. Honourable mention to the Peavey Tour 450 I had when I started out as a newbie and well before I could appreciate the build and tonal quality it delivered.
-
@hemdee666 - nice job! Looks like the work of the devil to me! 😁
-
I know these guys are a bit marmite - personally I love the zany energy of their reviews! This will give an idea of what the core will deliver with the current V3 software. The wah (1.48) and the Entwistlesque drive (2.55) demo'd are good and the X drive multiband distortion also sounds promising.

Ahh excellent! Yeah I found my 1025 and P35 were similarly well matched, with the P35 just edging it overall. Interestingly the gritty J on the 1025 actually works really well on the low B string in the mix. Your P34 will also be a little lighter than my former P35 which should make it super comfortable to play.
-
@yourfurryfiend - congrats! That really does look great with the new PG! Have you had other Yammys before this, or did you decide to go straight for one of their current flagship models?
-
Are you a fan of glam rock? 😁 How do you rate it as a headphone amp? Just wondering whether I should maybe get one of these as a off board headphone amp rather than getting a second B1-4? The B1-4 is obviously is a lot cheaper and does a bunch of other stuff...hmmm, I think I've just answered my own question, lol!

There's a DG AO Ultra on the fB BPM on for £250.
-
I totally agree with that. I guess my thinking was more that you might get charged a premium if you were specifically sourcing "2025" pups.
-
Haha - very good!
-
Someone more knowledgeable than me on the topic will no doubt be along in a minute, but I didn't think that the 2025 pups were any different to the 1025? IIRC key differences between the 1025 and 2025 are that the 2025 has the following "extras": - sonic wood treatment to naturally age the wood fibres to give it a played-in feel from the off; - (??) neck or fretboard oil and fret finishing; - Japan rather than Indonesia But I thought the actual components and woods were otherwise identical.
-
Interesting thought. I think the previous discussion on this thread about upgrading the BB615 focussed on the preamp - if I recall correctly someone said they had replaced with an Aguilar OBP-3 with good results. After the sterling service it's given you, it (and you!) does deserve some treating

"Although I do get the odd stare from punters who think I am dithering, or at least can't work out why I'm not using any of the other pedals..." 😁
-
So it's now all about "appearances" for you and nothing to do with the sound you're after or the limitations of your budget? Because you want to make sure folk don't think you are being pretentious or a ditherer? Well this thread is a good place to start if you're needing inspiration on board size and content. Oh and the answer to your question is 7 😁
