  1. Gotcha. Few of us love having mental fan noise! Except, of course, when they are punters at our gigs 😁 But if you could have the Mesa tone without the noisy fan? My Mesa M6 definitely has a noticeable (but not overpowering) fan. However it's pretty instantly lost when I start playing and then the tone just shines through. And I suspect the new hybrids are even quieter - but that would be a question for @agedhorse to confirm. If they are, would you not be a little tempted by the new Mesa TT-800?
  2. If you look at international transfer pricing a distributor typically takes around a 3% mark up. What was getting everyone rightly stoked was the 30% margin Westside were slapping on! If they were adding any value for that we would be missing them. But I'm not hearing too many violins from us punters that they've been taken out of the supply chain.
  3. There's a classic SWR SM900 in the FS, right now...
  4. Well I shared your other video with the band and it's clearly inspired them - the guitarist has spent the evening learning the Black Dog riff! Dammit, I'd best go work on the bass line then! 😁
  5. If they could bottle my Mesa M6 in a D class package, I'd happily snap it up! If you get chance to A/B one against an Ashdown that could definitely be worth doing. The other thought would be stick with your excellent Berg Forte and warm it up with a pre amp pedal that delivers the zing you're missing? There are some great preamps out there.
  6. I've had / still got the Ciocks DC5, One Spot CS6 - both very good. Also have the HB Iso5 - your Option 2. Really happy to recommend this. Great value, isolated/noiseless and plenty of juice. Currently underneath my smaller board and powering 7 pedals.
  7. Go on - unleash that pent up Royal Blood within! 😊 Fission Bass Powerchord FX Pedal lets any bassist lay down beds of power by adding stacked harmonies over their bass lines. Through an intuitive set of controls and footswitches, several combinations of octaves, 4th and 5th above the root note, combine to produce powerchords or octave-up effects. It’s also a multi-effect pedal with up to 3 voices of harmony, adjustable noise gate, overdrive, tone and effect level. This power-effect combo gives you creative control over anything from subtle octaves, to thick, grinding effects that even your guitar player will envy. The mix output is suitable for single amp operation and an effect-only output for feeding a dedicated guitar amp. Can combine the two outputs using an AB-Y pedal (not included). Add £10 for P&P - guaranteed next day delivery. These pedals are currently retailing at circa £245 new.
  8. OneControl Gecko MkIII MIDI Controller. This pedal is in almost mint condition - the screen has one tiny scratch and some very faint surface marks - but you have to look carefully to spot. I tested the unit briefly when I bought it (new) to make sure it was working and put some velcro on the base (now removed). But basically it's been unused since, as I ended up selling the midi-enabled pedals I was thinking of pairing it with. Comes with original box, and the 4 page user manual is available on-line - definitely would not have fitted in the box! Add £5 for 1st class P&P
  9. Forget the cheddar - what amp are you gonna get to bring out the flavour**?! (**see earlier, we've not forgotten...)
  10. Excellent value and capable multi-fx. It's essentially the much liked Zoom B1-4 but with built in expression pedal and additional effects for integrating the pedal. As with the B1-4 it comes with LED tuner (which is great for dimly lit stages) and drum machine, which I've really enjoyed for home practice. It also works really well as a headphone amp and will slip easily into a gig bag. The pedal has been owned by me from new, is in very good condition and comes with original box. Add £5 for 1st class postage.
  11. Will whoever has kidnapped our @walshy and stolen his BC log in details, please release him asap, otherwise international gear prices are going to plummet...
  12. @skidder652003 - your version of Black Dog which you posted elsewhere, was so good it made me ask my band if they would be up for doing it! Guitarist said he would prefer something a little easier, I'll see if he is up for Stairway... 😁
  13. Bought a pedal off Clarky. Very smooth transaction and the chap is a complete gent! Bas
  14. Retailers margins are slim at the best of times and returns are an absolute killer for them on that score. I would never order a product if there was a decent chance I might return it as I was just at the trying it out / not made my mind up stage. Returns for me are for faulty items only. But that's my approach - I'm sure plenty others will be happy to disagree and comfortable with a try and return approach.
  15. @MattiZ nice review, thank you! Do have other BBs, other than your 1200S (which many of us will be very jealous of!)? Pics of that too please! And which BBs have you previously owned?
  16. I get that. And for that very reason a lot of folk buy used rather than new (as I do with most of my basses, or when they're on sale / end of line discount). The TT-800 is now around £1,150 new (instead of 30% more when Westside were taking their cut), but if you're prepared to wait then perhaps £700 to £800 used in a year or so's time. Still a lot I know, but quality doesn't necessarily come cheap!
  17. @FinnDave - good to hear. I'm the opposite of you in that a couple of my "posh" basses will mostly be enjoyed by me at home, 'cos I would fret too much taking them to our regular local East End pub venue! @MacDaddy - nah, I believe you're still good! Doesn't count as bass gear per the earlier posts. Impressive, but have to' fess to not feeling jealous of your success in this 😁
  18. Nooooo!! Was that the posh Berg you bought? But is it just a case of you've not touched any of your basses 'cos of lockdown, so it's time will come?
  19. I was clearly asleep at the wheel! Yeah I get this thinking and they do seem to come from time to time. Weirdly, I've seen very few other vintage white BB1025s come up for sale and, on the same logic, I've held onto mine in case it can't be easily replaced and, oh, the small point that I completely love it! 😄
  20. ...and sold me your BB5000 - I would have bitten your hand off!
  21. Sell your Sad, get the pedal. There's your £2k right there! You're welcome 😉
  22. My BB1025 is a little over 9lbs. I reckon with some ultralites, that could be down to closer to 8lbs? PS that black BB425 of yours is now (via me!) happily in the hands of young master @dave_bass5
