Two valid get outs would work here: - the pups are identical to ones you already have. OR - they are different pups to ones you already have but won't feature in your signal chain. I'm guessing neither are true! But in your shoes I'd get the pups and just count it as a "worthy fail." On the plus side you will have lasted over a fortnight which is pretty commendable 😁 It does lack @bassfan's style in crashing and burning by getting a dream bass (when it eventually arrives). Now that's a far more spectacular way to call it quits than with the £50 pedal that he didn't particularly need, given the existing firepower on his pedal board, that took him down from the main GAC 2020 thread. The impressive thing is that you're both managing to make @FinnDavelook good! Pic of the bass with the new pups and a report of how it's all sounding would definitely be in order! Enjoy!

Yes, you're right! The MTD Saratoga 5 is a seriously much, much better bass in every possible way and it's really essential that you to stick to your one PJ5 policy. I can recommend some decent life assurance to take care of that shooting risk you mentioned. 😁

@TJ Spicer - you know that white Sad is going to end up in the Krow herd, just as your white BB NE2 has. No point fighting it mate...😁

@AndyTravis - that's one amazing collection of PGs! I've independently just come across Tim and was thinking of getting him do me a custom PG, so it's great to also get your recommendation of him. @Cat Burrito - gotta 'fess that I have a thing for white P-basses and that final pic grabbed my attention!

Love to see what PGs you've got adorning your basses! And if you've had a custom job please share details of where you had them done.

+1 ^^ Completely agree that a PJ can give you the best of both worlds. A couple of great PJ bass brands which punch well above their price point include the budget end Yamaha BBs (any from series 1, 2 or the current '3' series e.g. a BB 234 or 434) and the Sire P7 v2 And while I've never had one, must admit that G&L in the post above looks pretty tasty too!

That's interesting. Must admit I thought it tracked really well when I posted this review a while back (including some sound clips). But perhaps that was 'cos I was playing relatively slowly and 'carefully', which is not what we're doing on a typical bass line! @Dood had one too for a while and maybe worth getting his thoughts on this pedal also to see if he's got any additional other insights to add to yours.

Out of interest, what's the make and model of the cab?

+1 ^^ - the Focusrite kit really is very good. Also if your Stomp / HX Effects is not at the end of your signal chain you'll miss out on any effects that come after it. But for anyone without a dedicated interface, it's a really useful extra in the toolkit from your Helix!

Yup they won't be hanging about long - a great way to shift surplus stock! Good spot! The discount on RRP looks nuts! Not 25% off but 92% OFF! Almost worth getting it for its bargain basement pricing! You got one already - if so be good to get an idea of what the quality is like. FWIW RRP at £124 is perhaps a bit misleading: G4M have them in stock for £30, but £10 from Kenny's is still great value even compared to that.

So, hypothetically speaking, if the OP had gone for a white Sire PJ with a tort PG would she have done well to consider a pearl PG instead, which is also available from Sire, as it doesn't mask the pup and black knobs so much? Purely hypothetically speaking of course 😁
