  1. Lot of love for the Fender Rumbles - no question. Interesting thread today on a mod to the 100: And the TC BG 208 / 210 are also worth a look, although not in the same class as the MB combo IMO (I had the TC BG 115), but ridiculously good value.
  2. The MB LM3 post 2012 is class D, I believe. I think the earlier LM2 was A/B.
  3. Excellent multifx from a top BC'er!
  4. Definitely anti-something. Probably just anti GK in fact.
  5. Nah, sadly I think I'm correct ... just check with the man of rules Mr @Sibob himself. But as I say, if you need one of us to step in...😁
  6. And frankly if I was (unsolicited) to be given a bass of the kind that I know you're partial too, hiram.k, then I'd gladly fall off the GAW. So if you need one of us to step in, just shout... 😁
  7. It will have been our great pleasure to have known you mate.
  8. You're very welcome. And if you're someone who can do that effortlessly then I, for one, ain't gonna be picking an argument with you any time soon. Lol. Long live Trace Elliot.
  9. So this weekend I've had a narrow escape with a bass whilst running about like a headless chicken looking into it. Beaten by a buddy to a drum pedal and somehow managed to turn on a sixpence to just avoid getting another cab. Dave's already bought out the stock of most UK retailers' GK amps, so at least I'm safe on that score.
  10. So the audience does sometimes notice? 😁
  11. ^^ This. The CMD 121P has the older Markbass LM2 or 3 amps in. But you're paying a lot extra, as I said, for a newer MB amp plus a BF cab and you can potentially easily solve the EQ issue with a decent EQ pedal, if you want to get the CMD 121P.
  12. A quality hybrid should hit the mark. My Mesa M6 certainly does, but it's 25 lbs. The new GK Fusion S series looks to be seriously promising on both the weight (just 5.5 lbs) and sound fronts, but comes with a hefty price tag. Check out the clean grit sound at 037s. Lush!
  13. The CMD 121P is a great suggestion. If you're also open to considering separates then a BF one10 or BF Super Midget cab plus an amp head of your choice would work really well IMO. @fretmeister will hopefully be along shortly to confirm. Going to be a fair bit more pricey than the MB combo though.
  14. @Muzz great tip, thanks. Do you know what speakers / drivers they're using in the Rumble 200 and 500 series and whether your suggestion would also be relevant to them?

Good man! You'll have guessed from my earlier post that my "will to live" as regards computer editing has been entirely filched by my multi-fxs, which obviously can deliver a much wider range of fx as the reward for the time invested. So I've not had any motivation to pick up yet more computer editing skills on my FI and which has consequently lain somewhat forlorn on my board! Given that you're the only other person I know who has both the FI and SY-1, particularly interested in getting your views on whether you feel the SY-1 is going to be good enough for your live use (are you currently in a band?) especially it's superb tracking, sustain pedal and polyphony or whether the tonal "extra" that the FI can undoubtedly deliver makes it noticeably better in terms of classic synth tone, given that you seem to have got far more into your FI than I have managed to!

Yeah agree - some pedals just don't grab our imaginations, for sure. Obviously differs with each of us as to precisely which pedal, but I can certainly relate to one of our fellow synth pedal lovers admitting he's not found the inclination to touch his C4 since getting it several months ago, whilst loving his new fretless bass. I've had a similar experience with my FI's since getting my first one 18 months ago. Not really touched them - but have loved the new basses I've been fortunate to get my hands on. Maybe it's time to face the reality of my lack of enthusiasm and get my most recent Panda FI replacement moved on. I guess it reminds me that we're first and foremost bass players and then somewhere down the list, computer editing boffins!

    Excellent! When's it due?
  18. Basses seem to be our collective downfall, don't they? I've just had a narrow escape...bass I had my eye on had < 16.5mm string spacing. Phew, still on the GAW. Other than GK amps ( of course), apparently very hard to resist. Once you've got one, you're bound to get 3 or 4 from what I can tell. ...or pedals that duplicate stuff that an HX Effects does really well, for the particularly weak willed. Still 33 days in, and provided my cheeky offer doesn't get accepted on eBay for a piece of kit I've been thinking about getting on and off for a couple of years, I should be good to go for another day or two 😁
  19. Wot, u saying the Berg is boring?! 😁
  20. Will you be playing heavy rock with a full band and a decently loud drummer, Adam? If so, you'll probably need a pair of One10s volume wise, rather than just the one, and at that point in terms of price / convenience you may also want to consider a BF Super Compact as an alternative to two One10s. FWIW my gigging rig is the DG AO900 with a BF Super Compact and I play in a covers band with the usual rock numbers as part of our sets. Also works well, and happy to recommend.
  21. I'll defo try to do that. Know anyone with a decent time machine? 😁
  22. Nice rig @scalpy. BUT an Aggie db112 = £882 (PMT) and a MB 121H is £394 (dV247) Nuff said? 😉
  23. Well I have no idea what the abbreviations stand for, but I'm sure that's a great rig. 😁
  24. Wot no pic of the new rig?!
