  1. But horribly noisy circuit even on bypass. Only lasted 24 hrs on my board because of this.
  2. Just $ prices available on the GK website (see my link in the OP) But premium pricing, no question.
  3. Yeah but the MXR is like 4 times the price of the OC-10!!
  4. You prefer the Octo Nojs synth fuzz to the Mastotron, Tech 21 Red Ripper and the Prunes & Custard then?
  5. Incredibly close. I posted a review on the OC-10 in the reviews section. There's also a YouTube clip A/Bing the two and you'd be hard pressed to tell them apart sound wise.
  6. Ah interesting, I got mine to track pretty low without glitching, but good to have balanced feedback on the unit.
  7. Best value OC2 clone in the market today. And great tracking to boot!
  8. Yeah they are pricey Mr @dave_bass5. But they do look good! The new DG M900 Mk2 have pretty silent running and they and the Mk1s will deliver all the power you need. And @fretmeister, when he is not crying by the letterbox waiting on his Boss SY-1 to arrive poor chap, is loving his new Markbass head which seems to have built on the excellent LM3 platform with much better EQ centre points and that much loved MB warmth.

You're gonna love it! Just don't tell @fretmeisterwhatever you do...
  10. The only EHX octave pedal I've had has been the Pitchfork. Seriously versatile for the money. But was also seriously synthetic / tinny. You've had clips of the Mosaic pedal already in this thread:
  11. Based on that clip, I have to agree, the Fender P edges it on solo P setting! Fender seem to have shied away from the PJ configuration for much of their range, certainly for 5 strings, so harder to do a like for like comparison. But P+J does work really well on the Yammys and is also my default for playing in any band mix. This is the other area where Yammys excel. Dialling the tone off gives a vintage tone that I've not heard matched on other basses and the tone control provides a lot of tonal variety.
  12. But what about Fender body clones? Sandberg VM, Sadowsky NYC PJ, Lakland...?

For @Stub Mandrel who wants a single pedal to deliver a sonic landscape: This version of unicorn poo made in Malaysia:
  14. Haha quite. As far as I can, I do try to tell it like it is! Interestingly the Helix effects are not quite so good on octave up (nor have the Zoom multis been, which was perhaps more expected) in terms of authenticity / tone compared to certain dedicated pedals, which is why my Digitech Mosaic has survived on my board for so long
  15. Hordes of Janet Jackson fans storm out of Australian concert over ‘terrible lip-syncing’ Any surprise when the pros take the p*iss?
  16. If you get a chance to A/B at a rehearsal and report back it would be very interesting to get your feedback.
  17. @bassfan ever considered doing something similar with your lovely BB1100S to give yourself a fantastic fretless? Just a thought! @MoJo just spotted you're a Black Country boy - my former parish!
  18. Yup vintage white rules! (Apart from orange of course)😁 I particularly liked the look of your old black fretless BB414.
  19. Octave down Recommendation from @GisserD to check out the simple pitch effect and set at -12. Works a treat. I've combined with a clean slap patch I set up, which is just a low cut + EQ with mids slightly cut and treble boosted, at the start. This provides a clear top end with a nice thickening octave down without getting muddy. Tracks really well without glitching and minimal latency all the way down to a low E (and lower in fact) which is actually better than a lot of the dedicated octave pedals. Looks like I've just talked myself out of splashing out on the Aggie Octamizer in the FS!
  20. Very tasty! Your current herd and all 414s?
  21. I've often wondered similarly as to what benefit to our live sound a quality DI box actually provides, and whether what you hear using a Behringer DI 400 differs from what you hear using e.g. Radial or Countryman?
  22. The clue as to why that is, is in the third picture 😁
  23. Absolutely lovely! My Euro 5LX has been the 'revelation' bass for me in 2019 and I'm almost tempted to go back to a 4 string just to get this! GLWTS
