    Geddy Lee pedal

Yeah, great that she's doing her own thing. Have to say my immediate reaction was that she came across as a bit Amy Lee (Evanescence) Lite. I'm probably being unduly harsh though... You, me and the rest of the world mate!

    Geddy Lee pedal

Yup I've exchanged messages with Tim on TB before. Does seem like a good guy / really talented bass player! (See also my earlier July 16th post above with a YT clip of him). I hadn't put 2+2 together about him being the bass player in YYNOT, but all makes good sense!

I'm actually really tempted by the pedal now - if that is indeed what he is using on those tracks, has he confirmed that? What are your thoughts about getting close to that sound on Helix? As you can tell by that question, I'm also balking a little at the £249 price tag!
  4. The TC BG 250 112 or 210 are a lot of kit for the money. Add a Zoom B4(X) and you have a 'pedalboard to go' on top and change from £350. What are you going to spend the remaining £150 on? 😀
  5. Genius always is. Peter can confirm. 😂

Really liked that track including the bass line. Not come across these guys before, but I'll be looking out for them going forward!
  7. ...To be replaced the very next day with the last one of these available in Europe (well according the Ibby rep.), following Ibby ceasing production of these earlier this year. I had the good fortune to source from a German online store at an end of line price. Wasn't sure I was going to like the colour, but has turned out to be very lovely 'in the wood'. And whilst I'm not usually drawn to some of the 'sparklier' elements on basses, the abalone fret inlays are a really nice touch. Excited about the new material that this will hopefully help me to access on bass, assisted by it's relatively uniform and half way to a bass VI string 14mm spacing.
  8. Well yet another fine Ibby mess that I have to lay at @Woodinblack's door! Probably the most seamless one in one out I'm ever likely to do - this rather lovely 6 string left on Sunday night to wind it's way up north to a new home and a chance to welcome @Nouse_ to this Ibby fanboy thread as a fully paid up member!
  9. Delighted to welcome Arron aka @Nouse_ to Basschat and to have the privilege of starting a feedback thread for him. Arron has just bought an Ibanez SR1206 off me. Great comms, fast payment and very straightforward transaction from start to finish. He was a pleasure to deal with and I'd be very happy to recommend Arron to my fellow BC'ers. Hope you really enjoy the bass! Bas
  10. Yeah the clue's in the header: 'Peter's parallel patch...' 😉 It's already publicly available on TB to a much wider C4 audience than on here. There's two parts to getting followers and one is building a reputation. Sometimes you have to give away freebie's to get folks' attention / buy in. There's this chap called Scott who seems to get the balance right and generates £2M+ turnover. Not too shabby for a bass player with a dodgy hand.
  11. Wot no pics? Just like it never happened! So you getting rid of that P34 now or what? Face it, it's got all the hallmarks of your next BDDI, you'll regret it the moment it's gone, well at least until you get something to Stomp on 😀
  12. Peter's parallel patch for the C4 (or PPP4 for short). Set the routing option to “dual input 1&2” Master output balance at noon. Hard pan Voice 1 to processor 1. Set destination to filter only. Hard pan Voice 2 to processor 2. Set destination to “direct output”. Hard pan Voice 3 to processor 1. Set destination to “direct output” Set Mix 1 destination to “output 1 only”. Set Mix 2 destination to “output 2 only”. Set up a synth sound on voice 1, e.g. “Saw 1” and set up envelope and filter to your liking. Plug your instrument into input 1. Plug output 1 into your amp. Plug output 2 into your external effect in. Plug your external effect out into C4 input 2.
  13. Fair i.e. you need two separate patches one to run Qs parallel loop and a second with clean patch and loop only.
  14. Just checked on TB...and yours still suffers from not being able to access the pedals in the loop when the C4 is bypassed. Appreciate the thinking that went into it, though - definitely not something your average (or even way above average!) Jo bassist could have come up with.
  15. Well if anyone was going to figure this out...😀 Make sure to share it on the TB thread as well as here, as there will be a lot of folk interested in your solution, particularly if it is relatively easy to do.
  16. Good man! PS there are a few C4 owners on TB who seem to have tried to get their heads around this issue and given up... might be worth you checking the most recent posts on the TB C4 thread to see if what you're proposing is a more usable solution than theirs.
  17. Good to know that you can do that without owning a C4. The SY-1 was a little less effort to on this one point. From the website: "But with the send/return loop and dedicated mix controls, it’s also possible to blend one or more pedals in parallel" Job done. Now wouldn't it be great if SA could just tell you with a simple "yes" or "no" whether you can loop in parallel without having to download PC software on a pedal you don't even own (which I won't be doing btw)! But hey, I'm just a simple bass player and someone who currently owns 3 bits of SA gear, so no point pandering to the likes of me, eh...😂
  18. Posted this on TB as there are a few more users over there, which I thought was worth sharing: Parallel loops - does the C4 provide for this? Guys - it's not clear to me from from the C4 manual whether the C4 provides for parallel looping with other pedals? I have the AS and it seems to me that the AS manual is pretty clear on this - it can do a series loop but not a parallel loop. The two inputs / outputs do allow for stereo in / out and can also act as a splitter for a mono input. But the loop function on the AS (from the manual) is a much less useful series loop and when the AS is bypassed, the external effect will be out of the circuit and inaccessible. Just wondering whether the C4 is the same as the AS or provides for additional parallel looping? Response from: rsmith601 Boston, MA, President, Source Audio The AS has internal mixing and switching options that we hide from you and present them as a high level list of routing options. It makes sense in a distortion box. In the C4 you get access to all the input and output routings and when used with the voices, you can create a huge list of routing options for yourself. I would suggest studying the Desktop Editor. It's very flexible and powerful. Well that does sounds good, but actually doesn't leave me any the wiser as someone who doesn't have a C4.

    Boss SY-1

Agreed the C4 manual is a bit short on detail on this point. In SA's defence their C4 manual is a zillion times more informative than the Boss SY-1 manual!! The best place for info on the SY-1 seems to be the website. I'll leave you boys to revert on whether you manage to actually achieve true parallel looping on the C4 as you both have one and I don't 😉 While I have your attention on this point, would I be correct that there is no looping option available on the FI? For me being able to have the synth in a parallel loop with your drive pedals seems to be a very major plus as it allows the 'clean' synth to be clearly heard but with a parallel blended drive to fatten things up. In series, a driven synth tone is much more of 'mush'! It's been the major reason I've been looking into parallel pedal routing these past couple of months. Anyway I'm there on this feature with the SY-1 and I'll leave you to work out, Darren, whether that means I'm going to like this pedal even more or not 😁

    Boss SY-1

Two problems I see with that: The bigger one is that that it still would not be possible to have the AS actually working as a drive at the same time with this other pedal in parallel for a 'clean' blend of the two. You can only have them in series. The whole point here, for me, is being able to do a parallel blend. The smaller one, which may not be discernible, is that you can no longer engage full bypass of the AS but are using a simulated bypass. But the difference between full and simulated bypass is likely to be small we would hope. Agreed?

    Boss SY-1

It would be nice if it could, but I'm just paraphrasing the SA AS manual in my above post. But you and Peter both have the C4, so it should be fairly easy for one of you to set it up with a pedal in a parallel loop if it's capable of doing that. If it is, however, the same as the AS the looped pedal will be in series and not be accessible when the C4 is bypassed.

    Boss SY-1

Had a quick look through the AS Manual. The two inputs / outputs do allow for stereo in / out and can also act as a splitter for a mono input. But the loop function is the much less useful series rather than parallel loop and when the AS is bypassed, the external effect will be out of the circuit and inaccessible. So I certainly can't put pedals into the AS loop as I have just done above with the SY-1 to deliver a parallel blend and accessibility regardless of whether the SY-1 is bypassed. The C4 manual doesn't seem to give much detail on the operation of the twin inputs / outputs but, given the similar physical layout of the two pedals, I am guessing it will be pretty similar in this to the AS?
  23. Some good deals in the FS and worth keeping an eye out for something decent meeting your budget cropping up. This amp is in budget and has had positive comments from other owners (I've not had one myself, so can't vouch either way).
