What you clearly need is one of these 😁

Fair, you either love it or you don't! John is totally mad to be moving his 735A on anyway (I've already told him), particularly as he still loves it as a bass! Funnily enough I used to be a massive fan of 'burst. But I've now become an 'anything but' 'burst, overly civilised pups, 4 strings... 😀

Phil Jones Bass clearance at guitarguitar
Al Krow replied to jonno1981's topic in General Discussion
Out of interest would the Bass Buddy be worth getting if you already have something like a HX Stomp to cover off headphone amp duties? I see it has an EQ and comp, but then so does the Stomp. And I almost certainly wouldn't be making use of its 10W output. I could have been tempted by a Bighead just because of its compactness, but sadly none in this sale. -
+1 ^^ but as modified, for me.

Love the approach and attitude you're taking - and you have all our respect and thanks for all the effort you are putting in, for free, which a lot of others are going to benefit from in terms of their enjoyment of this kit, and Panda Audio will benefit from financially. The flip side is that there are too many musicians who find it extremely hard to scrape a living with e.g. promoters getting paid but originals bands being made to play for free etc. So it's a balance. Panda Audio aren't a charity.

Sibelius First 7 - Music Composition Software (by Avid) - £70 ONO inc P&P Great computer software for music composition. This was bought as a spare for the family to make sure we had sufficient licences between us, but ended up being surplus and seems a shame for it not to find its way to a creative home! Sony Acid Music Studio 8 - £20 ONO inc P&P Compact and relatively easy to use. Build tracks with your own vocals and instruments as well as loops, virtual instruments and pro effects. Useful added ability to change pitch, tempo and key of songs.

To me it's irrelevant whether Andras is a one man band or not. There are plenty of sole-traders out there (including me, as it happens, but that's an aside). If this was Andras' hobby and he was a not for profit org. then fair do's but if it's a business it's a business and he should not be exploiting the hard work of others to be making a commercial profit for himself.

@Quatschmacher you know my views on this: you definitely should be getting paid for the time and effort you're putting in, if only by them sending a couple of pedals to you as payment in kind. They're not a charity nor a social benefit org. like Wikipedia, and would never in a million years expect to be selling their products for free. There's a strong argument that they are certainly flouting UK min wage laws! I would never ask my bands to play covers gig for free; Panda Audio are totally taking the p*iss by making you work without any pay.

Blimey can't believe it's taken me until now to discover this thread!! Looking forward to catching up on all your posts over the coming weeks and months!

VK 210 MNT 8ohm has a great deal going for it in terms of quality. I certainly rated mine. At a similar size / weight / power handling and price point - I'd recommend also checking out the Fearless F112, a cab which really does knock it out the park.

Your wish seems to have been granted - in case you've not already seen, one just went up on the FS thread

Bought a bass strap from Paul. All good and very smooth transaction. Thanks! Bas

Let's keep it slow then... Enigma dimensions (Amazon) 4.75" x 5.75" = 27.3"2 Fwonkbeta dimensions (Stompboxsonic) 4.25" x 2.25" = 9.6"2 Ratio = 2.84 x as big. Q wins @fretmeister and @ped should still, however, go for a Fwonkbeta as the Enigma is clearly Q's balls 😂 Not a single comment on the IF in the last 14 posts on this thread, are we all bored of it already? 😁
-
Fixed! It is amusing, I agree. But it's been a slow day on the effects thread...😄
-
Dimensions are available on line - I might have got the wrong ones (I can see I was using the Amazon figures for the EHX Riddle Qballs), which gave the surprising relative areas. Feel free to plug the right ones into your calculator
-
5.87 to be precise.
-
TOTAL BASS MAYHEM !! You've so gotta get a decent video done of the gig.
-
...some may consider this a trivial matter (particularly if you don't have a pedal board)...but best not to forget to also mention that the EHX takes up approximately SIX times (5.87 times to be precise) the pedal board space of the Fwonk. No small feat feet, eh?😉

Ah, well spotted dB. Yup I think most of us leave our active basses unplugged when we're not playing them, and certainly over night, to maximise battery life.

After my trip to Wunjos and the shock news (ok that's by first world bass player standards!) that the GVB36s have been discontinued, I had a quite a bit of a trawl to see if I could flush one out. Turns out there were a just a final couple of new ones available in Europe and I've managed to source one from a German retailer at a very decent end-of-line price, significantly better than the RRP still being quoted by a couple of others. Order placed and really looking forward to it! Fingers crossed it doesn't get lost in the ether or turn out never to have been available in the first place! So, dear Woody, that's another fine Ibby SR I can lay the blame full square on you to Mrs Krow, then!
-
Yup, that would be my expectation from experience with all my other basses which have dual active / passive capability i.e operates just fine in passive without a battery present. @javi_bassist maybe worth re-checking exactly what is the position with yours and / or if you are saying something different to the point that John and I are getting at?
-
Very much ties in with the point @Reaper was getting at with his preceding post:
