  1. It's being used as a mini mixer. So it's off board with one input being the output from my pedal board. Other input is a vocal mic.
  2. And already by far the most popular gear abstinence thread EVER!! 😄
  3. It's at the end of the signal chain and not affecting the tone any more than putting the output of my pedal board into a "proper" mixing desk. And getting a new mixing desk certainly wouldn't be considered to be "bass gear", would it?
  4. It sadly fell, along with the rest of Mankind, in 4004 BC. Not to be trusted. I'm older than I look. Some may disagree.
  5. If I get a Boss LS2 to replace my replacement one sent back, but use it as a little mixer to blend in a mic and not as a line selector, I'm assuming that's ok as it's not being used as 'bass gear'?
  6. It's about as close to punk as many of us 50+ year old bass players are likely to get these days (with several notable exceptions! Me sadly not one).
  7. The Macrodose - how is it possible that you liked it? I have it on very good authority that "it's aesthetically marvellous, but sonically plebeian" or as @bassfan succinctly put it: "it looks pretty." I do get the hesitation about using it in the church worship group, though, unless you were playing something covering off Creation or just possibly the 4 Horsemen of the Apocalypse.
  8. Yeah, good plan. We could call it the "Gear try out thread challenge 2022"
  9. For goodness sake man, snap out of it: you're a fine Spector owning bass player! And NOT our typical audience.
  10. Good man. Crack the whip and show who's boss.
  11. £132 sold, including a hard case. Still a very decent price for a BB414, which I think it is. Although a long round trip to collect for many.
  12. Standard single 9V PSU should work fine I would have thought John, and maybe more convenient than using using a 2 to 3 pin adapter, which is what I have to use for both my Thomann IsoPro multi-PSUs (which are otherwise great bits of kit).
  13. DV247 are now a UK sub of German HQ parent (have been for a while, in fact). Main warehouse is in Germany.
  14. On my board and staying there! I don't find myself the least bit tempted to pay for a clone of the OC-2 when the OC-5 delivers exactly that with bells and whistles, for half or a third of the price of the competition.
  15. I thought you said pretty much the same thing about several Darkglass pedals recently? No wait! I'm getting you confused with everyone else 😁
  16. They might have sorted out the chip production back log by then, with a bit of luck. The new FI Mk 4 with a decent visual UI will be out. And you'll be going through your George Clooney phase...
  17. I'm waiting to buy mine used off Bassfan, so I should be safe for a while too. It all started with an FI...
  18. Your looks are also the main reason I like to be seen hanging out with you, too, buddy 😁
  19. Glad to be of service in your GAC 2022 gents 😁
  20. And this recently released on bass. I've skipped to 7.28 so you can hear how it sounds:
  21. Good plan. And you're actually making music rather than spending time thinking about getting gear with the intention of using it one day to make music! We should set up GAS-aholics anonymous...oh wait, that's what this thread is (other than the anonymous bit)! I also find it's great to ask the question "would my bands or our audiences notice any difference?" or "which bass would this new one replace?". Then I spot something like this, which wouldn't look remiss sitting on a @ped-al shelf, and know full well that both my bands and the audience would notice the difference. Just maybe not a positive one! I've put it on my wishlist. And, unfortunately, a couple of months later, it's still there. 😁
  22. I'm finding that adding items to a wishlist is providing me with an automatic "cooling-off" period. I look at the list a month or two later and the moment of GAS has definitely gone for several items. Liking the various comments on here about how folk are modding / getting the most of their existing gear, rather than buying new stuff. Gonna see if I can get the very bulbous neck on my Stagg EUB trimmed to make it easier to play (by someone who knows what they're doing!)
  23. There's a GR 350W lightweight / compact combo on for a good price in the FS. It's unfortunately a little bit underpowered for my needs with a single 10" speaker, but should be an excellent stage monitor.
  24. Last year's thread topped out at 8 pages by year end. This one's already up to 17 and it's not even the end of Jan...😁
