  1. V. sorry to hear that Stew, particularly as we all know it's not a cheap piece of kit. Hope you don't mind me posting a link to your thread with its warning on here also: Helix Power Hack - Effects - Basschat
  2. The SY-200 does look like a really good "compromise". I'm definitely thinking of trading up my SY-1 for a used SY-200 as and when one comes along to get the benefits of presets, quality display, ability to tweak resonance and the three additional modes as compared to the SY-1. The SY-1 is a huge amount of fun, though, particularly if you can pick one up for the bargain price just sold in the FS!
  3. Amazing value multifx! - GLWTS There was a wanted ad up for one a couple of weeks back, dunno if he's still looking: Zoom b1 four please - Items Wanted (NO TRADES) - Basschat
  4. Dark Purple - were they a Funk spin-off of Deep Purple?
  5. Is it a case of "the ones that got away" that affect us most? We humans, eh?
  6. I think originals bands and home noodling offer greater opps for pedal soundscapes, whereas with covers bands it's often more focussed. I've got a little gigging board for my covers stuff but quite a few extras for home creative fun. If it's of interest I did a little survey on what other covers band bassists have on their pedal boards over on TB: Covers bands - besides a tuner what pedals are you using and on which songs?
  7. Here's a BIG question for you, then: of all the hundreds of basses you've ever owned, which has been your all time favourite / biggest regret in moving on?
  8. If you feel that the Zoom B3n does everything you need quite well, but is a little too big then definitely worth checking out the much more compact Zoom B1-4. There's one in the FS right now for £50. You won't find better value for money and a great way to dip your toe in the water. Drum machine, led tuner, looper and headphone amp capability are very nice additional features it offers, particularly for home use. And plenty of very contented B1-4 users on this forum.
  9. Well you probably don't need to get anymore this year after your recent purchase: I see you're another member of the Yammy & Spector lovers tribe! And, boy, is that a tasty 4 string Spector that you've just got!!
  10. I've done a detailed analysis on the numbers. Andy has confirmed elsewhere that he's had 15 to 20 new basses over the past 6 months. That means he's had at least 380 to 385 basses i.e. approximately 55 every six months, over the previous 3.5 years. I guess he must be slowing down.
  11. If it doesn't arrive it's going to have real difficulty impacting my signal chain - haha! Which I believe is the ultimate test here. Same would be true if I promise not to use it until 1 Jan 2023. Trouble is, I might not even need to promise for that to be true...got a Korg Volca FM been waiting patiently for nearly 12 months for me to get my head around it. Although tbf I've had a couple of LS2s before so I'm well in the loop with what it does.
  12. My little pedal hasn't even arrived yet. It's currently more Bo Selecta than line selector.
  13. Can't argue with them on this one! Probably best not smile too much, given the collective state of our teeth. Their gun laws are probably the dimmest thing about our beloved American cousins and a pretty good reason not to poke fun at them: they've got guns we don't 😁 But, let's face it, there's an absolute ton about the USA the rest of the world happily laps up from Motown to Netflix via FBook and Instagram, searching for stuff on Google on our PCs loaded with MSoft Office, whilst doing our shopping on Amazon. Btw one of the reasons we're all here on Basschat is that Leo Fender did have some influence over electric bass. Another dim American, right?
  14. I've got one of these under my board powering half a dozen pedals. I've previously had Ciocks DC5 & DC8 and Trutone OneSpot CS6 PSUs, all great quality, but the IsoPro does the job equally well and it's tiny making it really easy to slot underneath the board and incredibly good value. Very happy to recommend. Thomann supply an adaptor as standard for the Euro plug, so that has never really been an issue. 3 x 300mA ouputs plus 2 x 500mA ouputs. The latter two have 9V, 12V and 18V options. The outputs are isolated and I've had no noise issues at all.
  15. Having been an octaver fan before making a move to 5 string basses, I've tried a lot of octavers and ended up settling on the Boss OC-5. For the money, I've not found a better octave down pedal and it also includes a decent octave up in the price and pretty much nails the classic OC-2 sound. Only trouble currently, it seems, is actually getting your hands on one! As tracking low without glitching seems to be quite key for you (as it also was for me), I should add that the OC-5 can track really well. Rumour has it that Boss have made use of ridiculously good tracking algorithms from their Boss SY-1 synth pedal in the OC-5 which would certainly explain it. It tracks all the way down to an open E in "poly" mode; it is, however, less good at tracking and more OC-2 like in "vintage" mode.
  16. I reckon it will do a really good job at all the above apart from envelope filter - I've certainly not managed to get my Helixes on a par with the a decent dedicated filter (or indeed synth) pedal but I suspect your C4 should be able to cover that off.
  17. Apologies if I don't post on here for a while... I'm just heading south to the sunny for sale threads... See you all there, shortly 😁
  18. Sorry, I was getting confused with your inner leg measurement...
  19. Yeah, had two in fact. AND they both still exist as far I'm aware. It's only reasonable to discount the void that is lockdown, right? Nov 20 --> [lockdown void] --> Jan 22 I mean, apart from all the gigs we did over the last 6 months, and AndyT churning 36 basses, nothing much has happened in between, right?
  20. Now if the seller had only pulled his finger out and listed it 4 days ago, I'd still be in...just gotta deal with the hand that fate gives you right? 😁
