  1. If anyone is trying to figure out where the fx on the pedal editor are in relation to those listed in the manual then they seem to have been "inverted". I guess following traditional Japanese script? To explain: there are 11 effects categories listed in the manual The last category in the manual is Bass Amps - but this appears as the left hand column [1] of the fx on the pedal. There are 11 bass amps fx types listed in the manual. If you want to find e.g. the Ampeg SVT which is the 2nd one in the manual, this is the 2nd from last scrolling down on the pedal i.e. 10th one down Filter is the second category but appears as column 10/11 etc.
  2. So I've managed to get my head around the on-pedal patch editor and created a duplicate pre-amp patch to the one on my B1-4. Not hugely difficult to do and the patch copy function will be very useful for any core fx I want to have on a number of patches. A/B'd the identical patch with the one on my B1-4. Not unexpectedly they sound very similar! There's maybe a pleasing more 'open' / slightly less blanketed feel to the sound quality from the MS-60B+ vs the B1-4, but it's subtle and I'm pretty certain wouldn't be noticed in a band mix. I'll have a listen out for it on other patches that I'm duplicating and also start working through some of the other fx over the coming weeks to see how the two units compare e.g. how the pitch shifters are on both in terms of latency and warble which is often a good test of a multi-fx's capability. One point to be aware of if you are going from the B1-4 to the MS-60B+ is that the fx order is from L --> R i.e. FX1 -> FX2 -> FX3 etc on the B1-4 but from R --> L i.e. FX3 <- FX2 <- FX1 on the 60B+
  3. Is it just me, or is the on screen menu a lot more intuitive and easy to navigate compared to the MS-60B?! Having 100 rather than 50 patch memories and 6 fx per patch (one more than my B1-4) instead of 4 fx on the 60B is going to be a treat.
  4. I'd recommend adding in an EQ sim with with added "presence" e.g. at around 1.6KHz and 3.6kHz to give you some added top end zing - I find that's worked well on my B1-4 and I'll be making use of that on the 60B+
  5. That's all very encouraging to hear Dave. I picked mine up today and hope to spend some time getting to grips with it this week. My key test is going to whether it's less noisy than the B1-4. I have a couple of preamp patches set up for my Spector with it's high output electronics and for which I've got a couple of ZNR (noise reduction) sims included. I'll set the same patch up with no ZNR on both and see how noisy both are.
  6. Just to balance this, we've been very happy with our 912As at both pubs and function gigs, and we alternate the 912As with our 732As, which our singer has. At £500 a piece they've provided a really good sound and were comfortably within our budget (50% less than the 732As) and they've certainly not been too bright or harsh. I'd be happy to recommend them as a workhorse PA set up which provides enough low end without a sub.
  7. Might have been delivered to the post office today, but I've been rehearsing with my crew this afternoon. You liked the BDDI sim on the MS60B, right? Can't imagine this will sound any worse so should pay for the cost of the pedal on that sim alone!
  8. Did you go for the 115SA model? Be interested if there were other ones you considered and what made you opt for the FBT over them?
  9. Yeah fair point. The trouble with the Hearmix Pro kit is you're looking at £500+ per band member, which compares to KZ ZAR IEMs at £50 per set, and you'll appreciate why that may be a non starter for many bands, and certainly unlikely to well up any shopping list for most? Obviously it will be a lot cheaper to set up an ambient mic and plug that into the desk, and tailor the ambient sound you want to hear that way? Not going to be in the same league, for sure, but it's then just the cost of a microphone, lead and stand.
  10. Maybe something like: 3.5mm TRRS 4 Pole to TRS 3 Pole male Female Microphone Jack Converter Adapter | eBay + CR2032 battery combined into an ultra small small housing? Not my skillset at all, but I suspect you or @Woodinblack could rustle something up and make into a bespoke BC product? Just a thought!
  11. You guys are determined to make me feel better about not getting them in the first place, haha! That's really helpful to know, thanks Jimmy!
  12. Nah we all do with keen interest Russ! But your suggestion involves yet another bit of kit to set up and sort, as opposed to replacing something we've already got with relatively low cost - those alternative cable mics were just another few quid on top.
  13. Awww, sorry to hear that! What happened? No going back?
  14. There's a huge amount of price experience between us on BC. At the end of the day we all buy and sell things for what we think they're worth to us as well as being guided by what others are buying and selling them for. If something seems to be on at a fair price I won't haggle (as was the case with a pedal I bought 5 mins ago!). But I'm fine with folk making me offers whether here or on eBay and I can decide whether to accept the offer or not; and I don't have any issues doing the same. If folk are fortunate not to be a forced seller then they can afford to be a little patient and hold on until getting their asking price or close to it, or simply decide it's worth more to them than what others are willing to part with and hold on to it - there's often a good reason we bought stuff in the first place?! And let's not get started on seller's regret...😅
  15. Cheers guys, you've put my mind at rest for not spending an extra £5 on getting the "with mic" cables! Just thinking aloud, this could be a really neat feature if any IEM system were to offer it?
  16. Speaking about hearing everything, just wondering if I've been missing a trick on the ambient microphone side of things? I've spotted that some of the KZ range now come with a microphone on the cables (pic below) but I'm assuming that these only work when the switch is pressed. So not capable of being an "always on" feature, but still potentially useful for having a conversation with a band/audience member without needing to take your earbuds out? Don't know if anyone else has gone down this route or spotted something similar / better?
  17. Love Runaway Baby (but is it really a funk number?) - it's a super fun bass riff! But hardly any of the punters we play it to seem to be familiar with it! Uptown Funk on the other hand, absolutely!
  18. Looks like these are now in stock with Bax. Just ordered mine - should arrive mid next week.
  19. Just come across these bad boys: 9 V Rechargeable Battery, 13500mWh 9 V High Capacity Lithium Batteries, I think that equates to 1,500 mAh, which is a little more than my current 9V batteries which are 1,300 mAh but not hugely so. Anyone come across a higher capacity rechargeable 9V?
  20. This^^ particularly the point about compact footprint. Personally I don't think any of the multifxs do everything well e.g. filter & synth? Certainly not the ones I've come across, anyway. So I've gone with the approach of having a multifx at the heart of my pedalboard supplemented by a few dedicated pedals that just do stuff I would regularly want to use in a live setting, "better". A Zoom B1-4 has been perfectly adequate for a long time, but now that my crew are starting to regularly do function gigs it's probably time for me to bite the bullet and replace the B1-4 with something more capable / less noisy. That had always been the plan when I got a GT1000 Core first time around, before I moved it on to one of our band's guitarists who had just joined at the start of the year, and who has since been super happy with it.
  21. Lots of very good points there BRX. Just occurred to me, though, that maybe one of the reasons you're so happy with your full Helix vs the struggle that a lot of Stomp users have is that the compact Stomp and HXFX units have literally half the DSP of the full Helix and Helix LT (one vs two core processors). So stuff that sounds really good on the full/LT might struggle on the budget / more compact models? Whereas the the GT 1000 and GT 1000 Core share the same more powerful chipset. Just a hunch? But you would have thought that halving the available processing power is going to have some impact?
  22. Chips that aren't a decade old is my starting point. That is ancient tech by most people's standards in the IT world. More dsp = better sound quality as a general starting point There's maybe a reason so many struggle with Helix to get a good sound straight "out of the box" particularly as the Helix software is unrivalled? Seems to be an easier journey with more recent kit with greater dsp such as the GT1000 / Core - it's been very obvious when working our regular 4 guitarists the Core users were up and running with a sound they liked very quickly, the Helix boys are still struggling to find a sound they like, or just about getting there.
  23. I may have to make another foray into giving the GT1000 Core a go, after mine got filched by our guitarist and given that there's still no sign of an upgrade to the ancient Helix range in sight...guess I'll know who to tap up for a mint condition used one then 😁
  24. What would you say are the key limitations in functionality apart from fewer channels and outputs?
