I think what you learned gents are both saying is that size matters! And it really does when it comes to taking up PB real estate because, as we all know, a large pedal potentially displaces two others that you might really like to have on your boards. It was part of the reason that I hesitated about getting the Damnation Audio MBD1 a few years back despite the rave reviews it was getting over in the US. But also why I was always likely to buckle when its smaller footprint but souped-up successor the MBD2 came along, particularly if / when one came up for a good price used, which it just did...😊

What I love about your technique is the way that you leave sufficient sonic space in the mix for other instruments to "breathe" with no extra unnecessary notes cluttering things.

Yeah, not sure 15" rule the roost any more. I've just had one 15" cab in the past decade. The rest have been 212, 112, 410 and 210. My fav is the 212, but for convenience I use a 112.

Gotta smile, probably been a couple of years since someone listed a white BB NE2 for sale in the UK. And then two get listed within 3 hours of each other 😁 Be very interesting to see if near mint condition justifies the price differential over a slightly more "used"/older example - will sit back and watch with interest!

Been a bit of journey! It is a fantastic bass and had top billing / definite keeper status in my herd for a long while and I remember having to wait 6 months before one came used up in white (made worse now by the fact that we no longer have the luxury of VAT free purchases from mainland Europe). But three subsequent additions to my herd mean that it's just not getting the use that justifies me holding onto it. But hopefully it will find its way into capable and appreciative hands. In terms of history this was originally bought new by our very own @TJ Spicer from Wunjos in London in 2016. I've had it for just over 3 years. I should have mentioned in my OP it weighs in at 10.1 lbs and comes with a mint Yamaha hard case. -
Truly outstanding bass, in great condition, which has not been played as much as it deserves by me: This model was built in February 2016 (with original paperwork available) and is in excellent condition. 5-Piece Neck Through design - The neck through design uses a 5-piece maple and mahogany neck sandwiched between the maple on alder body. Contoured Body - Both the front and back of the bass body are contoured to provide players with a compact, well-fitting instrument that offers greater playing comfort. Pickups - The stack type pickups are designed in collaboration with Nathan East. The Alnico V pickups include hum-cancelling coils. Individual Bridge Pieces - The bridge consists of Individual bridge pieces that reduce interference from other string vibration delivering a purer tone. Active Electronics - Active electronics include a special equalizer circuit based on Nathan East's "Magic Box." The circuit lets you cut off the selected mid frequency at the touch of a switch for precision sound tailoring. Controls: 1 : Pickup Balancer 2 : Master Volume 3 : Bass 4 : Middle 5 : Treble 6 : Mid Cut Frequency (variable mid-sweep) 7 : Mid Cut On/Off Switch Would prefer to meet up (within 75 mile radius of London or Birmingham) but would be prepared to arrange a courier if that is not possible.

Mini fuzz shootout First up is the Zvex Mastotron, which is particularly famous for its gated fuzz (square wave) which I've illustrated on the clip. It can definitely go smoother, but is a little more nasally/sccoped in sine wave mode than the Pigtronix Octava which is second up. Agreed re the SY-1. And in fact there is a bass / guitar mode switch on the rear which you would, of course, typically set to "bass" as a bass player. [Aside: the exception is when you want to use the SY-1 as an octave down pedal, in which case use Bass Mode-4 on the top dials with "Guitar" mode at the back]. +1^^ SY1 has far greater versatility, ability to sustain the synth whilst playing a bass line over it and superb tracking. The SYB-5 doesn't (correction: apart from the sustain to hold - see @paul_5's post below. I clearly didn't get that far with it when I had mine 😁).

Haha - very probably, just as we have several Ibby threads! But the "good news" behind this thread (please refer to the OP) was all about the arrival of vaccines followed by scepticism that we had the ability as a nation to roll them out etc. etc. so it's entirely a reasonable point of discussion and Phil (as always) makes some good points, in particular, about the comparison of what's happening here with Aus. -
He even specifically mentions us bass-players in his NAMM 2018 launch of the Pro - by virtue of having a clean blend.

I wonder where @CalDeep and your WMDs ended up? I've had my WMD Civilian Issue for 5 mins, but having heard clips from your albums @pantherairsoft I'm already GAS-ing for one of its big brothers. The 2018 Pro version looks awesome...if anyone has one they've forgotten about which has been quietly disarmed in a cupboard somewhere...😊

The vaccine programme is the key to getting out of endless lockdown cycles. On that we're all agreed i presume? Remind me which Australian university in collaboration with which Australian drug company developed one and whereabouts in Aus these are now being produced? AZ were not a vaccine manufacturer 18 months ago. But foresight and investment by the UK government made it happen.
