1. £479. The same price as some high end delay pedals. Not bad at all!
2. Hey all, A friend has just informed me that his old amp head cannot be repaired. I'm not hot on new products or what is classed as good value for money really, (when it comes to bass amps). I know the usual brands like MB, Genzler, TC, etc, but not sure what people are using or buying over the past few years. He wants: - Lightweight, - 500 watts approx., - Decent cab, - Able to rehearse and gig with both and handle a C tuning without struggling. He isn't look for huge enveloping lows. Mainly rock/alternative music, with a few pedals. What would you suggest? I'd say upto £1000-1200 maximum for head and cab. Cheaper if possible. Thanks
3.
Is the "H" pickup in the same position in a HS configuration as in a standard H or is it moved closer to the bridge to accommodate the addition of the single coil pickup in the neck position? By the way, I've got a Sterling 4H and it is indeed a wonderful thing. I also have a Spector Euro 5LX and at some point I might even consider swapping that for a Sterling 5 stringer.
Yep it sure is!!
4. I agree, save up and buy a 2nd hand model. I really don't think anything sounds quite like it.
5. You can take the option to pickup and lay down 10%, then ask them to send it....apparently. I've never done this but they've told me this a few times. I actually don't think they should ever take full amounts on items that are not in stock for a long time.
6. I can also agree that if you want a Sterling 5, and you have to order, you may as well get the HS.
7.
I think you may own a large part of the UKs quota!
I've definitely got a few quirky spec Musicman instruments. However, in this climate I would not build up such a collection.
8. Gosh looks like I'll definitely be holding onto all of mine. Pricing has gone crazy. I'd never be able to replace them without spending about 40% more.
9. I specifically ordered in a Sterling 5 HS about 5 years ago, maybe less, and it's a lovely instrument. Unfortunately due to normal price rises, then excessive price rises, then the £ issue, they are no doubt around £2000 for a standard 5H now. They can definitely order you one at your spec.
10. Awesome! Would have lent you a GBenz NX2 212T if you needed it for a gig, but you are sorted!
11. If you have a 2x12 with no other option for the higher end (tweeter etc) then that is the reason for missing those frequencies, unfortunately.
12. Well Chase Bliss have just released a delay pedal for £499..... ....man things are expensive.
13. I do like the show but apparently it no longer follows the novels. That kind of makes sense as it was about that point I started to notice it changed (and I had no clue the novels had 'finished' at this point). I'll still watch it but it's golden days have past for now. This first episode was ok, perhaps a little slow, but Ed did not need to be in it.
14. Next there will be a female Doctor Who! (Obviously tongue in cheek - absolutely no idea why anyone cares that a female has the role, it is about time).
15. 16.
I don't see what the problem is. A quick look at completed listings on eBay shows that if you wanted second-hand versions of the original edition pedals that these are copies of, you could be paying nearly as much. In the world of guitar tones technically improved doesn't always mean a better sound.
I was interested as a guitarist and not so much as a bassist with this set. I don't tend to pay any attention to eBay as it shows how over inflated these things become, and doesn't tell the complete story. Yes, I understand a mint original with packaging will be expensive and a collectors piece. Will this new set be the same? Or will it lower the value of the old versions a little? Who knows. £750 is a lot of money. I was very interested but I just don't think I can justify that for three basic pedals.
17. https://www.andertons.co.uk/p/BOX-40/eq-pedals/boss-compact-pedal-40th-anniversary-box-set I was quite interested in this set, then I saw the price. Despite the value of the original, YIKES!
18. Shame you can't go over and buy one on a nice holiday and bring it back. I will probably do that with the next Tech 21 pedal I want...I did it with an Xotic EP Booster and saved about £50...and I was there on holiday anyway.
19. Reasonable US price, no doubt very high quality. I'd love a full Bergantino Bass setup. 3 x 112s.
20. They all sound great! That is how you compare basses! Nice to hear some high end after being used to flats for a while.
21. BBP35.... https://www.gak.co.uk/en/yamaha-bb-p35-bass-5-string-vintage-sunburst/909055 Oh yes....that is nice. Cheaper than a Fender?!?!??!
22. Welcome to GuitarGuitar hahahaah
23. I have a Fig Fumb and PDF-2 but so far only used on guitar.
