2. I certainly prefer the tube drive circuitry of the Tech 21 pedals. I find most the DG tones to be WAYYYY too much like high gain guitar tones.
3.
I don't think the 410 cab has ever been unpopular
Not in the normal non-forum world. Forums....another story!

5.
Do you feel that the v2 was a significant improvement over the original? As Mudpup has noted, it seemed you could deal with the mids issue by dialing back on the treble and bass on the original? This is brought on the attached review of the original BDDI - and I LOVE the tube warmth that clearly comes through on this video. (Actually IMHO it's a great little review - he gets across a lot of helpful info in just 3 mins and leaves me wanting to buy the pedal!) https://www.youtube....h?v=c35sBhowaxM
Hi - yeah I really like it. I like a lot of control of mids, and often boost them significantly. Don't get me wrong, the original BDDI does not always scoop your mids, if you use the controls noted above, but I really like having the ability to sculpt mids properly.
6. On the announcement of the Polytune 3, I decided to move on my Polytune 2 to try a new tuner. The Polytune 2 was pretty impressive if I am honest. My only concern is what people noted about the footswitches on TC pedals being delicate compared to the Boss stomp (but no doubt TC have dealt with this). I'm not sure how accurate the Polytune part of the pedal was (seemed fairly decent) or whether I 'needed' it, so part of me is tempted to go back to Boss with the TU-3W. I've been super impressed with the Waza pedals, and apparently the buffer is the same as the ES-5/8 buffer, so high quality. But, spanner in the works - I also quite fancy waiting for the Polytune 3. I doubt any of us have tried the Polytune 3 as yet, but has anyone tried the TU-3W? Thanks
7. I might be wrong but I think the PDDI never seemed to please the BDDI purists....maybe this is why they opted for a new updated BDDI with mids control. I used a BDDI for years and upgraded to the v2 at some point last year. I'd still say Tech 21/Sansamps are the best pedals I've heard for tube warmth and drive, more so the Ampeg flavour.
8. Have you thought about the latest Sansamp BDDI V2 with mids control? There is a shootout in a magazine somewhere (fairly recent)and it notes that this new version allows your mids to really snarl through the mix.
9. Bizarre that the bass world was so 'anti-4x10' for so long, now they are making a comeback.
10. About 5-6 years back, I tried MANY different cabs, and sometimes I still have a look to see what is new, but when it comes down to it, the Aguilar DB212 is my favourite cabinet for the bass guitar sound I like.
11. It'd be easier if they just sold to shops direct now.
12. Just to add to this, I really don't think manufacturers/designers in the music world seem to have an idea of 'hit this deadline.' If I don't hit a deadline at work, I absolutely know I will be in for hell on earth. It MUST be hit, so I hit them before the day if I can. Just don't project dates you cannot hit to take orders (not related to BD by the way...not their fault). Be honest and add another month on top of your projection.
13.
You also have to feel sorry for BD. In effect Greek is there customer, so the first point of contact in the chain, so any ear bashing is going to be aimed at them. Shops being let down by manufacturers/distributors must be a real pain for the proprietor as well as the customer. Glad you were offered a refund by BD they are obviously doing what they can to keep you happy.
I agree. Good of them.
14. Bass Direct have these in - just so you know. Cannot get over the price. Are these hand soldered analog pedals? Or are they digital?
15. thefretboard.co.uk Plus it is free...
16. Let me get this right.... Trace, originally from the UK (and I'm aware of most of their history up to a point as I was a big fan of the SMX amps) is now manufactured elsewhere, but then sent to the USA, then sent to the UK, then hits a middleman dealer, then to the shop?! It's 2017. I have no idea if the above chain of events is accurate but my god, what a waste of time and money, especially the dealer in the UK. Just send it to the shop. Those types of amp are so difficult to work on for a tech that I imagine they just give you a new one if it breaks!
17.
Marvel can set a worldwide release date for a film before filming has wrapped because they have the money to make it happen, even if they have to hire another 500 people to get it done. I don't know of any music company who could do that. I don't think it's a professionalism issue necessarily, I think it's a money issue.
I'd rather they just project further into the future with the date. Then surprise the market if it is earlier.
18. The music industry doesn't seem to have the same level as professionalism and dedication to deadlines as some other industries. Shame, but I guess that is how it works.
19. I would look no further than Genzler (latest Genz Benz, basically): http://www.genzleramplification.com/product/MG350-BA10-Combo/Magellan-350-Combo.html?cid=18 Bass Direct stock them.
20. I find it bizarre that the box seems to have only taken a small knock....it must have been blunt force.
21. I hate the way we pay blindly for insurance because we want to play it safe, then they don't pay up when we follow the rules. Disgusting practice. I hope you manage to get it sorted. Amazon delivered a new Gibson SG to me (limited colour run for Amazon and super awesome price) just in the Gibson box with Amazon packing labels. Absolutely immaculate when it arrived, even the outer box. I've no idea how couriers get away with it. PURSUE IT! Keep ranting on Facebook etc.
22. I think its a great concept and it has created huge interest in buying music again. Why do I buy vinyl? - The collector aspect, - The sound, - The larger artwork, - The limited runs, - Buying music is fun...but buying mp3s is nowhere near as fun as vinyl. I do think the ebayers have ruined it somewhat. May as well be Record Store Day HOUR...because everything decent has gone by 9am. I couldn't get to Piccadilly in Manc as I was visiting family back home. Bit of research led me to finding an independent store back in my home town. Turned up at 8:40 ish to find almost everything I wanted gone....and I refuse to get up at 4-5am and queue. However, I did buy some bits off my list: - Soulwax Double LP, - Kasabian 10", - Smiths 7", - Blossoms 10" picture disc. I still think it is a good idea, but I think they need to change it a bit, or maybe just stop it and release more limited records throughout the year to drum up excitement.
23. I have a 5 HH and 5 HS, and they are the fastest punchiest basses I've played. I imagine it is due to the neck allowing you to play ultra fast, and the electronics/magnets in the pickups having a very tight aggressive response. One thing I haven't tried is a lot of fuzz/overdrive with a Bongo...I've no idea why because the tone is probably a really good platform for effects. Highly recommended that everyone try one. The ergonomics are very well thought out.
24. The whole issue with rosewood is a big shame. It usually my preference, although to be honest maple can be just as good, depending on the colour scheme of the instrument. I have an all rosewood neck Ernie Ball Musicman guitar....it's lovely to play an all rosewood neck!
25. Had a few ups and downs but gladly, the last pedal I bought from them was pre-price rise price even though the other stores had increased their old prices on the older stock. Arrived perfectly and £30-40 cheaper than elsewhere. So, I'm hoping it is a sign of future business with them, but at the moment I don't desire any expensive new basses, especially with the rubbish £.
