1. As per the title, this is a very excellent condition Electro Harmonix Big Muff Pi USA Effects pedal. Comes complete with the original wooden box, instructions, packing material, warranty card and sticker which is a rarity. Seen one on here for £36 w/o box posted, so with box how about £40 ONO posted? Or £35 picked up ONO. Its a classic USA one, and its mint. PM me any offers....Im on London this weekend (Sat/Sun/Mon) if you are based there. I live in North East Lincs though. Thanks Gareth Edit: Picture added!
 2.
have a bump these amps are beautiful wish i wernt skint. =(
Temporarily on hold!
 3. NOTE - In London area 17-18th October...so can deliver for small fee or meet. Alternatively, can meet anywhere on the way from NE Lincs area to London. Made In Japan Fender Precision '62 Reissue. Colour is Olympic White, guard is Red Tort, fretboard is rosewood. I have had the bass from new, around 1996 ish. It even still have the '50 Years of Fender' sticker on the back of the headstock. The bass works exceptionally well, it is light, comfy, and worn in. Sounds like a Precision should Throaty deep and aggressive with a pick, or roll back the tone and it does fat and warm. Just had a setup and check costing £12...everything is 100%. The has sentimental value, so I dont want to let it go cheap. This bass has served me well, and has years and years left in it! I may well withdraw this if nothing firm has been made. This is the ’62 Reissue model and not a standard MIJ, hence the price. I have been advised that this is just about the right price, but I am willing to negotiate. I have also done some research and these basses were held in high regard at the time, and are becoming quite collectable. Condition: We are looking at an almost 14 year old bass here, but you would never guess it. There is no actual damage to it, just very light wear n tear. I never wear a belt buckle facing the bass when I play, no matter what the bass cost me, so there is no buckle rash. A few light small dings in the headstock that cannot be seen unless closer, few areas of very light ageing, but its been cleaned and cared for. It has great sentimental value, and even though I was a young player when I first owned this, it has always been used properly. All as original, stock parts. Two tiny little dints near the scratchplate, but it hasn’t done anything to the paint apart from leave a little mark, and they are not visible to the camera. Cannot see it at a distance! For almost 14 years old, its doing very well Paint looks great for its age. Give it ten years and this bass will look even better. Scratchplate is in tact and fine, it has the obvious scratches, but if you wanted to you could replace it. Personally, I think it looks good how it is No damage to the neck area what so ever. Smooth varnish finish on the back means this is sooo easy to play. Nice tint to the neck. The rosewood board and the frets are fine. This stays incredibly in tune, all the time. Comes fitted with Rotosound 66 Swing Bass lights…if you want a higher tension and a little bit more aggression, put a normal/heavy set on it. Case: Fairly lightweight hardcase, it has only been used for 6 months. Weight: Light! I have no idea on its actual weight, as I can’t weigh it, but I know it is light and comfortable. Compared to the USA Fender Precision Deluxe I sold a while back, this is much much lighter. I have never experienced any ache or problems back-wise when using this bass. Feel free to test it. Sound: Well, this nails P bass thud and punch without a doubt. I have recorded a fair few times with this bass, and I have always had compliments on how well it sounds in a mix. Believe it or not, some of my latest recordings are just this P Bass, a Sansamp BDDI with a little grit and fairly new strings. All straight into the board. Sounds huge, chunky, fat and grindy. Roll back the tone and you have that classic P Bass thump. . Location: I am based in NE Lincs, but I am willing to travel halfway for trades or sales, (fuel contribution for sales). Feel free to PM me to come and test it. I can post this bass, but it would be much safer to pick it up. Please note: Due to its sentimental value, I will withdraw it if I don't get near what I would like. The majority of the pics are quite dark...the bass itself is quite a vibrant white...but creamy. Price: £365.00 including the hardcase. EDIT: Very recent setup Trades: I am open to trades on USA Fender Precision/Jazz Basses 08/09, (plus a chunk of cash from me). 5. I'll put a video and pics up when I get them off my girlfriend.
 6.
Having used an MXR M-80 D.I. for my passive P and Maruszczck Jazz to give that all important mid control and the switchable boost and distortion I'd strongly recommend it. The Tone Hammer was the other possibility.
+1 Tonehammer is great. I tested one for ten mins at Bass Merchant and I loved it. Made a nice difference to a passive bass, and the overdrive was really useful and gritty! Really good solid pedal with lots of features. Its now on my GAS list...
 7. Bump on an awesome head. Very powerful and awesome tone!
 8. Awesome condition! PS....are you tempted by the Berg 12ERs also?! Me too....
 9.
I stayed in Durham last night, so this morning I went a little further up the road to Newcastle to go to a few shops with Guitar Guitar in particular, make of it what you will: Sadowsky - "Underwhelming" would be the best word to describe this. The UVs were nice basses but for almost 2k? Nowhere near as good as I thought. Granted, it may be partly down to shop setup (They were all completely out of tune, slightly high action etc) but considering the hype around Sadowskys and my love for Jazz style basses I would have expected it to blow me away. Instead I find that I don't like any of the neck profiles and the tone pretty average. The Modern 24 5 string was even worse, considering I've lusted after one of those for years. The B string was terrible - had no definition whatsoever and the tone left much to be desired. The only really positive thing I can say about my experience with Sadowskys is that the materials used look like they're great quality. The ash on the bodies had nice grain and as did the rosewood on the fretboards. Plus I couldn't fault the construction at all - flawless inlays and binding, tight neck joints etc. Warwick FNA Jazzman 5 (used) - This was also a serious disappointment. It was used but if anything that says even more about the construction. The 3 piece Ovangkol neck seemed to be coming apart slightly - perhaps due to differences in humidity or something? I could feel the unevenness between the 3 pieces of wood when playing. Neck joint wasn't very tight front to back but was acceptable around the edges. For a high end German made instrument the woods used weren't great either. The flame maple top wasn't very well figured. If the body was solid maple that'd be understandable, but it was just a thin top. The bass felt solid in the hands and resonated alot. I guess I just played a bad one - probably why it got part EX'd anyway? Also, what's with the new Warwick nut? By the looks of it the only contact between the nut and headstock is two tiny screws?! Rickenbacker 4001 C64 (didn't have binding or triangle inlays?) Really nice bass. Didn't feel any of the ergonomics issues that other people have mentioned, with the exception of the rather cool looking but unreasonably large bridge pickup cover. The electronics were a bit scratchy but I think it's been in the shop for a long time. Didn't get a chance to have a go with a pick but I imagine it would have sounded awesome - couldn't resist playing some Rush and Yes. This is officially the most expensive bass I've ever seen, held or played - almost £3k? EBMM SR5 - Awesome bass. Loved the feel of it - great B string (on par with my Spector) only complaint would be the pickup design - the sides are curved so resting my thumb there didn't feel quite right. Fender Deluxe Jazz fretless - No "mwah" at all, in fact it sounded rather similar to it's fretted counterpart. No other complaints. I really want a set of flatwounds for my jazz now! Disclaimer - comments about tone are subjective, obviously as I didn't test the basses through multiple amps Maybe I'm subconsciously telling myself I don't like Sadowskys to save myself money.
Dont worry, this is EXACTLY what happened to me with the Sadowsky. I craved the UV...but I was underwhelmed. My new 09 USA Fender Jazz gives me my dream tone at less than half the price. Weird, isnt it?! I put a thread up about this a few weeks back. Their USA Fender Jazz 75 Reissue was totally different...VERY impressed. Lots lighter too. I still dont understand it...I just think im more of a passive guy unless its a Stingray.
 10. Well I gave them all a good testing out this last week, (most of the cabs on thi thread). The Berg HT112ER/EX was amazingly smooth and low, totally different to my normal sound, which I liked. The other cabs I have are very rock orientated, and his was a very nice tone. The AE112s were great, aggressive and full, but not as full as the HT/EX ER stack. They look amazing, but I can see the spray finish marking easily. The Aguilar DB112 was great, but I might just stick to my DB212s and have something that sounds totally different. Thanks Gareth
 11. Berg HT112ER/EX112ER Lakland DJ5/JO5 Aguilar Tone Hammer
 12. I LOVE the necks on these basses. I think I have found my 5 string bass, plus its Jazz'ish too. Anyone tried them against each other? Is the new Fender 5 neck on the P's and J's a lot wider and rounder? If so ill be sticking with the JO or DJ.
 13.
Just tried the Little Mark Tube out at Andertons in Guildford. Nice bassy sound, but very little difference between the solid state and valve pre's One of my favourite live sounds was a function band a couple of years back with a LM into two MB cabs, but when I play them they sound a bit muffled (even when going easy on the VLE control)
Agreed on both counts. LM non tube is better IMO...and the cabs always sound good when others use them!
 14.
sounds good. I may have to purchase a bass terror. As you've got an AD200 i woul be interested in a tone comparision. I know its not going to be the same but how close is it, if at all.
Its a very good small lightweigh head to give you some grunt/tubey overdrive.....it does sound similar to the AD200b, but without the pure tube grunt. Im getting one anyway purely because it works very well. Very light, very small, damn loud. You will like it if you like some gain. It also sounds a lot better than I imagined clean. It doesnt do the full on tube grind like a tube amp would do, but its close enough! Fat, and dirty, thats what it sounds like.
 15. I tested the DJ5 and JO5 on my hols this week. Absolutely LOVE the necks. Not sure if sparkle is my thing....so I might go JO...but I love the inlays...so maybe sparkle it is! Best 5 string necks Ive ever played. How does the P5 neck compare dave? PS Lovely bass!
 16.
Thanks for taking the time to post that. I've read the Bass Terror will be available early October, anyone heard something different?
They said late October hopefully. Im hoping its longer as Im eyeing up a Lakland!
 17.
and the report.............................
Hey Just got back from a whirlwind break down south, and ive been to nearly every bass shop ever. The Orange gear....Ive got a lot I need to type! Let me just say this though....the 500W Bass Terror is incredible for its size/weight/price. Even though the Shuttlemax has the more tube like sound out of a lot of lightweight heads, this Terror blows it away. For about £470....you are gettiong a killer amp with plenty of ommph, ability to do clean, and ability to be Orangey and dirty. Not quite AD200b territory obviously, but damn good. The cabs...surprised the hell out of me. I went in thinking it wouldnt be possible to get a loud small cab, (and these ARE the SMALLEST light cabs Ive ever seen, especially the 2x12 which is just so small but loud). but it is. If you like a punchy tone, with the ability to have it in a box thats not actually any bigger than a normal 1x12 box, then this is for you. It does work incredibly well. the 4x10 is tiny...looks like a 2x10 and weighs so little. That was incredibly loud, I had to watch my ears with that one. I cranked the hell out of the 2x12 and it sounded amazing for its size. A little 'boxy' yes, but still very good at what it did. Lightweight? Extremely. Just to say, the guys in their workshop, and Neil on Customer Services, were extremely nice guys. They even came in and told me to turn up because they couldnt hear it loud enough upstairs. The Dual Terror (guitar wise) is absolutely awesome.
 18.
I have to say that I just did some demo recordings (to produce a CD to get gigs) and the Sadowsky was as growly as any of my Warwicks and needed NO tweaking or EQing to sound full and superb! Why not get a Sadowsky PJ?
Ive got to say, I really like the style and sound of your Sadowsky PJ....it really works for me!
 19.
Funny to sit and read this thread today... I was at the Gallery in Camden at the weekend visiting Alex & played a few new Sadowskys amongst other jazzes. I was also disappointed with the Sadowskys. The sound was pretty good (the Sado preamp is the same one as I use in pedal form with my jazz) but not as good as my 09 Am.Std jazz through the same preamp. The necks are too thick fingers to thumb for my personal liking & feel half finished, much like the old S1 Fenders did. So I was disappointed in Sadowsky as well. All in all, my 09 Fender sounds and feels so much nicer. Best bass of the day at the Gallery? Squier Classic Vibe jazz. Storming sound, great to play and amazing value.
I am off to the Gallery on Saturday, so I might try the same one's out. That exactly what I thought, the 09 Fender just had a better sound, to me anyway.
I've had 2 Metros - an MV5 a couple of years ago and an RV5 I bought here a couple of months ago. The MV5 had a lovely satin neck and sounded wicked. I got rid of it on a whim and have regretted it ever since. The RV5, although finished to a scarily high standard (2-piece body and finished under the pickguard with no routing - Fender take note!), it didn't do it for me I'm afraid. B string sounded dull to my ears with Sadowsky strings (which I found out were duds anyway) and even the prized DRs, which sound fab on every bass I've played and owned for years. Im now happily using a lovely Spector 6 (thanks CrazyKiwi) and a quite literally awesome American Standard P 5-string - light as a feather, fantastic neck and a tone to die for even on the B.
Can I ask, how good are the Fender 5's? I hear silly rumours that their B doesnt really cut it....but I also hear the new ones are REALLY good for their money. Thanks
 20. Price DROP AGAIN! For quick sale this weekend. I am in various places in the country so I can take it with me and meet up Pls PM me before 09:00 on 27/08! Cheers!
