1.
But this time of year when everyone's on holiday it's always frustrating band-wise.
Tell me about it - not had a practise with either band for the last month and a half where everyone is there. I get my revenge/holiday in August.
 2. I'd look for used gear that would otherwise be above your budget - if you get a Markbass or Barefaced cab then you're laughing. Saying that the markbass stuff is pretty cheap new now with the exchange rate. I've got both MB and BF gear and I gig the BF, it's just better but I use the MB kit at practise to save lugging anything around.
 3.
If you want to be tight, you have to work at it. Fine as a hobby/bit of a laugh with mates but for a gigging band nope, rehearse every week for me, even if gigging in the same week.
This for me. Mainly because I have to work hard at it to be adequate.
 4. Considering finding one that matches my US Geddy Jazz - the Hipshot BT2 looks almost right but the stalk is a little short in the pics. Need to get some decent dimensions.
 5. Quite a few different Jazz neck profiles over the years and even on the current models. What is it that's so different about the Jazz versus P neck?
 6.
Here's a few different socket types 1. Jazz bass - standard flush front socket 2. Coronado - flush edge socket 3. Telecaster - recessed edge socket 4. Stratocaster - recessed front socket Two additional photos showing transmitter next to a iPhone 4 (cos I had one lying around)
and that answers my question perfectly - looks like it's not as good a fit as on some configurations but, given the (lack of) weight, as long as it's not flopping around it looks as though the suction tape will do the job!
 7.
she seems like the type of person that would play the 'You cant say that, I have cancer card' if anyone were to give her some banter back.
Ask her if she wants to book you for her wake? Or would that be bad taste, overly harsh and just plain out of order?
 8. Quickie question about fixing it in place... I see the pics have it in an edge mounted jack on a square sided guitar. Will it 'stick' on a standard Jazz style connector - i.e. flush to the front of the bass? If not how does it securely strap-mount?
 9. Bought a fair bit of kit off GBBL but lucky enough to live close enough to visit and not so close I'm bankrupt. Drew, the proprietor, always strikes me as honest and clear - I'm a big fan of the way he does business. At least there are going to be no unpleasant surprises for the buyer with everything clearly stated.
 10.
To be honest I'm surprised Line 6 didn't build a wireless into the new Helix system.
Yeah, I thought that but they'd be competing with their own products then. Probably going to splash on the Helix and this wireless option looks a winner for the size and cost.
 11.
Hehehehe !
Wow - the cover of this I did in a Uni band back in '90 was better...
 12. Used the house rig last week - small Orange bass combo that I couldn't hear as it was wafting past my ankles... Wonder if I can convince Alex @ Barefaced to make a powered 1x12 bass wedge..?
 13.
It's just tired pub rock covers but there's a market for it and I'm pretty sure we will get rebooked
Don't put yourselves down with 'tired' - if people are enjoying it and you're enjoying it that it's just as relevant as when it was released: it's entertainment. As for demand - there's definitely demand out there for decent rock covers, doesn't pay well but is well received. For us hobbyists it's all that really matters.
 14.
Don't laugh! I'm Mr Impatient!!
Me too, I suspect your wit will be worth it!
 15. Very mixes set last night @ Live in Stockport. On between two bands, no sound-check. First three songs were destroyed by massive bass feedback (badly placed kick-drum mic), sound engineer took a while to get on top of it. Went well from there in and been asked to play a biker do in August.
 16.
I've just received mine. I took the gamble and went the Thomann route. I had to do really because I'm based in the Canary Islands. Have to say, great service from Thomann. The bass arrived no issues, plus I saved a few hundred quid in the process! The Geddy USA is awesome. The more I play it, the more I love it and the quality is, as you say, 'spot on'
Awesome Gigged mine for the second time last night and it looked and played the part.
 17.
Guess what I am waiting for???
18.
But I still want a combustion too!
Ditto - NG2 in Green or Yellow. Sheldon did mention working on a 4 String combustion which is very interesting...
 19. Congrats & welcome to the Dingwall club! I'd planned on getting a Combustion util a trip to BD saw me buy a Z3... So much for will power!
 20. Very nice, there's something about the valvey goodness that really appeals. Was tempted by the Strategy until I looked at the price!
 21. Using: http://www.ggjaguar.com/neckcode.htm 01 - p bass 03 - fretted maple neck OR skunk stripe neck with rosewood board 24 - week 24 3 - 1973 3 - Wedsnesday Looks legit for a '73 p bass neck.
 22. Lovely - slightly partial to the pearloid plates
 23. A Jazz thread? Awesome
 24.
thats beautiful
Thanks, the more I play it the more I'm loving it.
 25.
DR Lo-Riders get a massive thumbs down. Wouldn't recommend!
I was so unimpressed with their Neons I put them on a bass I never play...
