  1. ...and there's one on here (it's not mine)
  2. Welcome airfrank There are a few BC'ers based in France I had a Gibson T-Bird - great looking thing and sounded terrific
  3. Nailed it! Barefaced cabs are great btw
  4. Welcome Jeff 6 strings eh... oh and hope you have a healthy bank balance as this fine forum will drain you of your cash faster than an Amsterdam sex worker!
  5. Halloo! Sire v7 5 string would be my choice https://www.thomann.de/gb/marcus_miller_v7_swamp_ash_5_nt_2nd_gen.htm I can't get on with 5 strings but I had one of these and it was a very nice bass for the money (the control knobs are cheap and nasty but easy to replace)
  6. Thanks It's a beautiful bass. If it doesn't sell I won't be too unhappy
  7. Up for sale is my Maruszczyk Jake Basement 55 Butterscotch In A1 condition, bought from Bass Direct last year and only gigged by me a couple of times as I usually use my Lull Only selling cos I've spotted something else (you know how it is😊) £800 + shipping, in a decent semi-rigid case Specifications; Body: Ash body Neck: hard rock maple Fingerboard: Maple, 20 frets, Zero fret Nut width: 40mm Construction: bolt on Pickguard: Black Pickups: Bassculture Electronics: Passive: Volume, Tone Finish: Butterscotch transparent, body/neck matte Hardware: black, 19mm string spacing Strings are flatwounds, and look new-ish, don't know the make, sorry Original listing on Bass Direct's website https://www.bassdirect.co.uk/bass_guitar_specialists/MARUSZCZYK_Jake_4P_55_Basement_Butterscotch.html Photo's are their's too - I'm hoping that's ok as I bought the bass. I will take some of my own and stop being a lazy-arsed keyboard warrior and post them later tomorrow (I'm mostly engaged with watching the 6-nations today No trades unless it's for a Mike Lull precision with the jazz neck width and cash your way (obvs) I'm in Nottingham and Covid safe collection is ok or I'll ship via UPS in the aforementioned semi-rigid case. Overseas shipping considered - pm me I would expect that fully insured shipping will be around £30 to UK mainland destinations
  8. John Entwistle, me and Colin Hodgkinson watching Jack Bruce
  9. I feel your pain having gone through the same event a few years back. All wedding suppliers triple their prices when they know it's for a wedding so I'd make sure you pay yourself triple your normal fee.....go on, you deserve it
  10. Cool, we're playing there on Dec 5th.....hopefully!!! Not been since Woz & Zoe left and the new guys refurbed it
  11. There's only one word for this .........HEFT!

  15. I played one of these a couple of years ago at Richtone in Sheffield. Really liked it, it played beautifully, but I dithered and it sold
  16. Interesting dampening system you have under your deck
  17. The two guitarists in my band are talented enough to make great bass players, fortunately for me they're not showing any inclination. I'm in a band with some talented folk...our sax player is a music teacher...I use this as a spur to improve my playing
  18. She's cute, that's for sure...and a good singer too!
  19. I did....surely they can't be serious? Oh they are....and don't call them Surely!
  20. Nice!
  21. Just got back into hifi over lockdown. Set up is a Project 2.9 deck with an Ortofon OM10 cartridge through a Rega Brio amp and a pair of Castle Clyde speakers off of eBay for £80! I've also sprung for Chord cables (they cost more than the speakers) The sound quality is pretty good for a total spend of <£800 and I'm reconnecting with a lot of the albums I bought in the 70's. I'm amazed at the cost of the very high end hifi stuff. There is a pair of chord Sarum 4m speaker cables on evilBay that are on for £2150.00 - yikes
  22. Bojo is being Mr Nasty having fracked up everything else to do with Covid. The false positive debate is interesting for example
  23. You had a broom handle? You were lucky! I had to make do with lollipop sticks stuck together! ......youth of today 😖
