  1. .....and she's buying a stairway to Heaven I think not, Amazon don't have a box big enough
  2. This 👆 A great drummer makes the band. The best interpretive drummer I've played with is on this track... Mel - who wrote, produced, played guitar and did all the vocals on this track is in the band I'm in - we're very lucky to have her. Davide Gallo is the drummer she used and did a great job of interpretation I thought.
  3. The Everly Pregnant Brothers are great - the lead singer is an undertaker! Here's one of theirs that vied for Christmas No1 3 years ago apologies to Kings of Leon fans....
  4. And on that subject
  5. The Cort Jeff Berlin Rithimic is reputed to be a banger for a relatively small amount of beer tokens https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/223981449341
  6. I've never owned or played an Ibanez but I'm inclined to agree that the Tanglewood would be a sideways/downward step. The Sire v7 jazz is a nice bass for around £300 used.
  7. Ah, missed that....I checked the lists you posted too! I'll get my coat 🙂
  8. Give Valentine's Day a try. We love it and it's become our favourite warm up/warm down/play it whenever song. Phil
  9. We've done Laughing Gnome a couple of times by request. You're right, fans love it - we're not keen He was a big fan of Anthony Newley at the time so he wrote Gnome in that style trying to become famous.
  10. We did the whole of the Ziggy Stardust album, in the correct order once as a first set. It worked really well and we'll do it again when (if) we start gigging again
  11. We do 'Slip Away', it's a fabulous song. It took us a bit of time to get the groove right and it's much better now we have a sax player (most songs are tbh - especially 'Soul Love')
  12. Lots of bass for beer money
  13. I'm with you there @Clarky I don't gel with a big chunky neck either - shame as it's a lovely bass
  14. He was an intellectual thinker from what I can gather, which comes out in some of his later, less well known songs I think
  15. Welcome Cog Love the David Bowie quote - I'm in a Bowie Tribute band so have picked up a bit of intel on the man but hadn't come across that one.
  16. Welcome Ash I'm near Leicester but just over the border in Keyworth, Nottinghamshire You'll find plenty of advice, amusing anecdotes, a bit of moaning (a lot actually😀), inspiring stories and all sorts of goodies to spend your hard-earned on here!
  17. I'll just use mine at home for practice I think. It's working at the moment so it's obvs an intermittent issue Thanks for the heads😂 up everyone
  18. B*gger Always fancied one of these I'm your man should the sale fall through
  19. Thanks, I'll try that
  20. Criminal World cover by Bowie This isn't me btw
  21. Hi all I have a Markbass Blackline 250 which I use as a practice /back up It's old and a bit beat up - I bought it for not a lot off of evilbay I fired it up t'other night and got a lot of buzz and fizzle, especially on the the E and A strings. Then it fizzled out and there was no sound output. Tried using different guitar and speaker cables with no joy Tried it just now and it's working ok Anyone any ideas? I should probably get it serviced but not sure it's worth the cost
  22. Well aaah! (this works if you say it in the local accent)
  23. Whereabouts in South Shropshire? My home town is Ludlow (although now live in Nottingham). Us country boys should stick together (not literally of course|)
  24. There will be much of this in the near future, bands playing for a reduced fee. Fair enough if it's a paid hobby, not so great if it's your living. Saying that we've just taken a booking for October 2021 at our normal rate
