  1. I've never owned or played an Ibanez but I'm inclined to agree that the Tanglewood would be a sideways/downward step. The Sire v7 jazz is a nice bass for around £300 used.
  2. Ah, missed that....I checked the lists you posted too! I'll get my coat 🙂
  3. Give Valentine's Day a try. We love it and it's become our favourite warm up/warm down/play it whenever song. Phil
  4. We've done Laughing Gnome a couple of times by request. You're right, fans love it - we're not keen He was a big fan of Anthony Newley at the time so he wrote Gnome in that style trying to become famous.
  5. We did the whole of the Ziggy Stardust album, in the correct order once as a first set. It worked really well and we'll do it again when (if) we start gigging again
  6. We do 'Slip Away', it's a fabulous song. It took us a bit of time to get the groove right and it's much better now we have a sax player (most songs are tbh - especially 'Soul Love')
  7. I'm with you there @Clarky I don't gel with a big chunky neck either - shame as it's a lovely bass
  8. He was an intellectual thinker from what I can gather, which comes out in some of his later, less well known songs I think
  9. Welcome Cog Love the David Bowie quote - I'm in a Bowie Tribute band so have picked up a bit of intel on the man but hadn't come across that one.
  10. Welcome Ash I'm near Leicester but just over the border in Keyworth, Nottinghamshire You'll find plenty of advice, amusing anecdotes, a bit of moaning (a lot actually😀), inspiring stories and all sorts of goodies to spend your hard-earned on here!
  11. I'll just use mine at home for practice I think. It's working at the moment so it's obvs an intermittent issue Thanks for the heads😂 up everyone
  12. B*gger Always fancied one of these I'm your man should the sale fall through
  13. Criminal World cover by Bowie This isn't me btw
  14. Hi all I have a Markbass Blackline 250 which I use as a practice /back up It's old and a bit beat up - I bought it for not a lot off of evilbay I fired it up t'other night and got a lot of buzz and fizzle, especially on the the E and A strings. Then it fizzled out and there was no sound output. Tried using different guitar and speaker cables with no joy Tried it just now and it's working ok Anyone any ideas? I should probably get it serviced but not sure it's worth the cost
  15. Well aaah! (this works if you say it in the local accent)
  16. Whereabouts in South Shropshire? My home town is Ludlow (although now live in Nottingham). Us country boys should stick together (not literally of course|)
  17. There will be much of this in the near future, bands playing for a reduced fee. Fair enough if it's a paid hobby, not so great if it's your living. Saying that we've just taken a booking for October 2021 at our normal rate
  18. I reckon this is your best bet. There's also Gumtree and your local Facebook marketplace although the later can be problematic with more time wasters
  19. We did this in lockdown for an online event. Some excellent contributions from some of our fans (checkout Nicky in the bottom right corner... delightfully bonkers). Hours and hours of editing and syncing by our guitarist Mel (top right corner)
  20. I shall keep my eyes peeled. Anyone would think I spent all day looking at basses on eBay 😂
  21. Looks like it's been taken down now
