1. Here is mine..........
2. In my Case, my Pedals are some Kind of "Set and Forget" Pedals... Goes like this.. From the Wireles System --> into A/B-2 from Boss so I can switch between two Basses that I play Wireless From A/B-2 --> into LS-2 Boss Line Selector, where I adjust the different Output Levels of these two Basses. I can switch between them and in the 3rd Input of the LS-2, I put my 5-String, wich I play with Cable From Ls-2 --> into T.C.Electronic Vintage Compressor --> Aphex BassXciter --> Amp as you can see..... Ready!
3. Hey Ho... I did a Comparsion between Cable and Wireless Unit you´ll find it (with Soundclip) in this Forum.
4.
first one is wireless?? maybe my sensitive ears, but to me some biting tone was lost from the first sample to the second. if so, thats food for thought...
But I have to say you´re wrong. First one is played with a Cordial Intstrument Cable, the second one is played over the AKG Wireless System, with identical Settings.
5. Hi Guys, I think that could be interesing for some of you. I´ve done a little Recording I wanted the Comparison between a Wireless System and an Instrument Cable So here it is..... Bass ist my Squier 70 Vintage Modified Jazz Bass. Both Pickups, Toneblend 20% open. Wireless System is a AKG WMS 40 Pro Flexx I´ve played it directly into my Low-Budget Soundcard, so be patient. Also i did the Recording very quick. Nothing special, just a short Riff for the A/B Comparsion..so who finds some mistakes, can keep them. A/B Comparsion between Cable & Wireless System So is there a huge noticable Difference? Listen yourself. And if there´s only a small Difference, is it worth to go with a Wireless System @ Live Gigs, because you can move around a lot more? Is there a Difference? No Doubt, in the Studio, we all usa a good Cable, but Live?! I think it´s worth to go with the Wireless system . Do you guess wich is Cable and wich is Wireless?
6. If you think about a Custom Bass, I once again recommend the Maruszczyk Basses. You´ll find them on Public Peace Feel free to Contact Adrian, he has Open Ears to your Needs anytime. You´ll find Basses with the Classic Shape like J+P or something more modern if you like. For Example like this...
7. + 1 for a nice Tortoise PG, because it looks good and Tortoise nearly fits to all Colours... Will post a Pic later, because I'm @ Work right now.
8. I´ve also the Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass. I´ve bought it as a Backup Bass, but it´s lot more. A really good and well Sounding Bass with nice Build Quality. Maybe you have to test and try a few ones until you find "your" Bass. But ist´s worth to take a little Time. Anyway a really "Bang for the Buck".
9. If you like them, I would take a Look on a LeFay "Herr Schwarz 5"

Cheap Compressor

I use the t.c.electronic Vintage Compressor and I like it very much...
11. PM sent...
12. Let me also recommend a Bass.... What about something like this.... You can find them on Public Peace the Site of Adrian Maruszczyk, a famus German Bassplayer, with Roots in Poland, who builds his own Bass Range. Only best Woods, Hardware and PU´s. You can choose Colour, Finish (High Gloss or Matte) , Pu´s ( Rough Crystal, Maruszczyk or Bassculture Neodym) and so on, so we´re talking about Half a Custom Bass. Feel free to contact Adrian. He´s a very kind and helpful Guy, who has always a Pair of open Ears for your Wishes. No, I´m not working for Adrian, but I´m a very satisfied Player of his Basses
13. In earlyer Years I´ve allways thought, it has to be active. So I bought Basses with 2- and 3-Way Electronics, with parametric Mids and so on... Then I bought my Jazz Bass, my Maruszczyk Elwood and there it was, the Tone I´ve searched so long. Now I only play passive Basses and I find them punchier...Hard to explain...with more Balls, you know?! So...for me, I came to the Decision that I don´t play Basses with a Battery in it.
14. I use Gibson Guitar Polish. Works very well and the Bottle lasts for Years.... I like my Basses polished and shiny...before the Gig. On the other Side you may say: "The Dirt keeps the Funk."....but i still like it clean....

Jazz 24

If it has to be the Fender...o.k. but if you want a Jazz Bass with 24 Frets, there are many Alternatives... This One for Example........ ...also available in any other Colour, or with Rosewood Fretboard...aktive Passive, different Pickups...etc. I´m a committed Player of these Basses. Really great Craftmanship & amazing Sound

hi all newbee

Hi Gordon, I´m also new to this Board, but the first Impression to me is, there are many very kind People around here. So let me say....You´re welcome.
17. I´ve got the t.c.electronic Vintage Compressor and I´m really happy with it. It´s nearly identical to the T-Rex Comp Nova.
18. I don´t like the Warwick Strings at all. The Red Ones are worst Strings I´ve ever played. Really Rough with cheap Feel. The Yellow, are Nickels like any other Nickelstring. Nothing more, nothing less. If you want a really good, affordable and lasting Roundwound String, try the GHS Supersteels. They are absolutely identical to the Lakland Strings, so Dan Larkin from Lakland told me. They only put the Lakland Label into the Package.
19. 20.
Thanks for the info and sorry for pouncing on you so soon! We are like gear vultures here! Cheers ped
Absolutely no Problem. Thats what I´m here for...
21.
Thanks - I have had a quick look around and it seems to be a very cool piece of gear which I am sure I will buy soon. Is it totally silent? Easy to carry? Cheers ped
Not totally... but it is so silent that you can´t disturb anyone. Additional you got a Headphone Jack. So you can play, listen to your Bass and get the Vibrations... ...and yes, it´s easy to carry.
22.
Welcome. I have always wanted to try one of those Pleasure Boards. How much do they go for? I presume if I wanted to use one with a bass pod xt driven in ear system I would need a poweramp or the pleasure pump?! Cheers and welcome! ped
Both will work. You can drive this with the Pleasure Pump, but also with every other Bass Head. Just plug the Board to one of the Speaker Outs... Thats it. If you find one on E-bay I think they´ll go for about 250,--300,- Eur. But they´re rare on Ebay...
23.
This board is becoming really rather internationally spiced isnt it! Wonderful! Whats that pleasureboard all about AREA? I think i've heard of them?
Here you can see and read everything about the "Pleasure Board" its made by Thomas Eich from Tec-Amp. it is connected like a Cab to one of the Speaker Outs and can handle 600W/8Ohm Pleasure Board
24. Before we went completely to In Ear Monitoring, i used the Alpine Hearsafes. They were good so far. No I use Ultimate Ears UE5 Pro In Ear Earphones and I never ever would go without In ear monitoring...
25. I voted for "Other". Does anybody Know the Basses from Adrian Maruszczyk? 1. Maruszczyk "Elwood" 4p 2. Maruszczyk "Elwood" 5p 3. Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Bass
