2. It's never easy to send a large amount of money to a stranger over the internet, but I would now gladly do so with Mikkel, he doesn't even feel like a stranger anymore. I purchased a BB2024X that shipped from Denmark to UK. He gave superb communication throughout and packed the bass very well indeed. Everything was absolutely as described and I have no complaints whatsoever. Mikkel is a gentleman and a member that you can trust.
3. Bumper to bumper, the avenue's packed
4. I'm sure that these need no introduction here. I can't imagine how you would get better bass for your money than the 424X/424 right now. This one is as good as new and hasn't been taken out of the house since purchase. The only reason for sale is because I have upgraded to a BB2024X. Pick up from Salford or can meet in Manchester city centre. I have no experience in sending a bass via delivery service and would like to avoid that. I apologise for the poor quality in pics but I have a terrible camera and no natural light right now. I can take some better ones elsewhere tomorrow if need be. 5. For some reason I don't see where you're from. It always states that you have posted only three times, which clearly isn't correct. Is that a privacy setting or something? Anyway, where are you based?
6. Are you sure that this is a 1980? The serial number kinda makes sense for an '80 but it really should have a 0 at the start. I ask this because I have a BBVII which is a 1982, but they were only made between 82 - 86/87, so it seems a little odd that the short scale version was being made a couple of years beforehand. Perhaps you know more about it and can enlighten me?
7. Nice shout, thanks a lot
8.
No it hasnt gone up. I had dropped it for 24hrs hoping to sell quick as I had a replacement on sale or return. No one bit so ive had to return the other bass. I am of course open to any serious offer
Ah I see, makes sense now. GAK offered me one brand new for 565. So very tempted but I'd have to shift out a 424X.
9.
+1 - a darn good venue too, played there Friday just gone..!
What band are you in? I go to a huge amount of gigs in Manchester/Salford and was at the Lamp Oil (The Eagle Inn) on Friday.
10. There's a huge amount of love for the BB1200 on this forum alone. It's a highly respected bass. I wouldn't mind a 1200s myself actually!
11. I was just about to post this. Went to see them last night and then stumbled upon that video today. There's a lot you can do with a bass and a drum kit There's a lot of two piece jobs knocking around at the moment.
12. I do believe that I've been using the input as the volume and just leaving the output very low. I've clearly learnt something new today.
13. Does VU meter have a purpose? Sometimes I can have my amp at a very low volume yet the meter can bounce up into the red zone. I was a little perturbed by it at first because at the end of this red zone is a red cross. I was worried that I had entered the no go zone and then the thing would blow up.
14. For the love of the lord will somebody please buy this!
15.
So have you bought them specifically for this band, have they told you what effects to buy ? Seems strange you'd buy something without really knowing what it does.
The only things I have bought specifically for this band are the two fuzz pedals. I know what everything does that I have but I'm just still not completely sure of the order I'll end up using them in. The chorus and delay I bought to experiment with a Peter Hook sound.
It might be worth your while going for a read at Shep's blog (a fellow BCer). http://sheponbass.co...l+Chain+BASSics
This looks like something I need to read, thanks. I mean, I can't think of anything else I should be doing on 14th February!
16. I now understand what true bypass means That was a good way of explaining it. The songs are pretty much set out already. There will be a need for most of what I have but I'm aware of there being pedals and effects of which I have no knowledge. For example, I'm not entirely sure what an octave pedal does, or at least how it melds with other pedals. Does the tuner always go first?
