1. I will try and post some better pictures of this bass later. Lots of interest but still available - £1200
2. My understanding is that the Fender JV was for the domestic market and Squire JV was for export. Same specs as I understand it. Lots of US parts too including CTS pots and some hardware.
3. Looks right. As already mentioned a late JV but looks right from the pics except for the chrome knobs.
4. Interesting... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Fender-1963-L-Series-P-Bass-ORIGINAL-Fiesta-Red-Precision-Bass-/151280191301?pt=AU_Musical_Instruments_Instruments&hash=item2339008745
5. And so...Happy New Year to all... 1976 Bass anyone?
6. Post-Christmas then...time for a bit of vintage Fender?
7. Final call for this bass...
8. DAV preamps are great - I already have 8 of them. Can't go wrong with those. Proper british made preamps by the Decca guys. Someone will be very pleased with those. GLWTS
9. Accidentally deleted photos - now back up. Still available.
10.
the photos have disappeared in both your tele ads
Thank you - now restored and improved. I was doing some photo housekeeping and deleted them! Cheers...
11.
Just a thought. Ur 72 was probably sunburst or solid colour when new. The bodies are usually three pieces of Alder which when stripped to natural show up the joins. Factory naturals were usually one piece of ash which tend to look more proper.
As Karl knows when we had a chat about the finish. My feeling was that this bass was originally Lake Placid Blue. When I examined it carefully I found some specs of what I thought was LPB in the Pup cavity. It's a bit of a crime to refinish a factory LPB in black I know - but that's the 80s for you! Good point about the body joins though. We'd only know once it was stripped back. I think it's Alder though.
12. Thanks Karlfer, and thanks Karl. Just a note that I am very interested in old Fenders. If anyone has anything and wants to trade with this 76 I can do cash your way.
13.
And to you Mr SpikeBass Often one of the frustrations when you are selling something, is people pm you, but don't bump your ad. You both pm'd and bumped, well done that man!
Guys, I'd like to thank you both for such a spirited and sporting joust here! The truth is there's more interest than I expected with trades, and so much to think about. Now I have to think about it some more - but I shall return. Thanks guys...
14.
I have these guitars http://basschat.co.uk/topic/251028-bass-guitars-for-sale/ take them all and give me your Fender, Im just north of London
PMd
15. Super Fender here. Now with a Christmas special price. £1200. Final price drop guys or I'm going to keep it.
16. Hi, how old is this bass please?
17.
There are some things it can be wise to put on your advert, like, 1. Whether you will courier. 2. The area you live, eg, London, Liverpool etc. 3. If you will consider trades. You will probably get one or two more folk interested, as, fickle as we are, if those details are not readily available, some may be uncomfortable sending PM's. GLWTS
All good points! Thanks for that. The bass and myself are in London. I'm very happy to send the bass out by courier at cost. £30 in its case. I'm also very happy for interested parties to come and try it out here. Would rather sell than trade, but always interested in other things bass or guitar so let me know. Thanks.
18.
Gorgeous
Thanks. It's an honest bass. It's spent its life as a player. Always a good thing!
19.
Where do you live?
PMd details
