  1. Here are my two... Both stock instruments. The J-type is strung E-C and is the easiest 5-string I’ve played. The Recurve was my first and the tonal palette is huge with Alan’s DFM pre-amp.
  2. For Sale £185 Darkglass Alpha Omega. Boxed and in excellent condition. https://www.darkglass.com/creations/alpha-omega/
  3. For Sale £50 Freshman FA1FBK folk bodied acoustic guitar. My daughter’s first guitar that once held sentimental value for her; now a potential source of income, having been hanging on a bedroom wall unplayed since she left for university. Some minor dinks. No bag but will have shipping box made to fit. Collection from just outside York; Selly Oak Birmingham or shipped at buyer’s expense. These guitars are designed to accomodate a smaller budget without sacrificing any of the quality that Freshman is renowned for. "At this price point these guitars are hard to fault. Truth be told, I have seen inferior finishing and detailing on many name brand and hand made guitars that cost many times more money. An overall feeling of solidity suggests that these guitars could survive years of gigging or being slung in the back of cars." Specs Body Type: Folk Body Acoustic Top: Sitka Spruce Back: Mahogany Sides: Mahogany Fingerboard: Rosewood Hardware: Geared Diecast Machine Heads Finish: Gloss Black
  4. Beautiful basses. One is ever enough! Have fun with the five.

    obbm's feedback

Just bought an Ampeg SCR-DI from Dave. Great pedal and service to match. As described and well-packaged. 👍
  6. Looking for a straight sale on this one but might be tempted by a Spector.
  7. For Sale: £900 Great sounding Stingray 4HH from 2007; as powerful as you would expect with a wide range of tones. Comes complete with original MM hard case which is in very good condition. Bought from Deedee on this forum. Fitted with white scratchplate but have original black. Happy to include both in sale. Few dinks (see pictures), nothing serious. Located just outside York. Collection welcome. Free shipping.
  8. Bought a pair of Event 20/20 BAS monitors from Shep along with some ISO-LBR 200 stands. We arranged to meet at a convenient spot between his place and mine. All went very smoothly. I’d buy from him again in a heartbeat; genuine, sincere and fear is obviously well looked after.
  9. Thanks both. I currently use a pair of Dynaudio Audience 50 hi-fi speakers to listen to music when doing the day job. It just so happens that mrs skb558 could use those in her art studio so question is, would listening to my collection through monitors drive me slowly insane or could I be a happy boy and kill two birds with one proverbial?
  10. Shep of this parish has a pair of Event Audio 20/20 BAS V3 for sale. Im just starting out on the home recording journey. My dedicated office space at home is a small 9’ 3” x 8’ 6”. Would such monitors be overkill in such a small untreated space? Advice appreciated.
  11. For Sale: £80 plus £3.45 postage. Focusrite 2i4 USB Audio Interface. Excellent condition (small mark above Focusrite). Little used. Bought for my daughter. No latency experienced with 2011 iMac. Will provide generic USB cable.
  12. Oh, dear! I’ve bought and sold 4 fretless basses (all lined) so why am I drooling here, now. My skill on fretless is as good as my salivation control. My first ‘serious’ bass was a Fortress bought in ‘96, that’ll be it...but it had frets and I sold it so I just need to have a lie down and this bout of GAS will pass. GLWTS...just don’t reduce the price any further.
  13. We have a winner! I hope you are not an employee of said potato-based snack company? Frequent rail traveller? I got a packet on the London to York service last Thursday and nearly choked when I read the blurb on the packet. So, decision time. Take the bass or donate to a worthy cause?
  14. The bit in quotes and now bold at the start of my original post is from the packaging of some thing or things. Tell me what is being referred to and the bass could be yours if you are so inclined on the acoustic-bass-for-nowt-plus-post-and-packing front.
  15. “Here’s to the quirky...here’s to the innovators...here’s to the British twist on tradition that drives the nation’s quintessential creativity...like a blast of [...] Britishness as you sail back into Dover Harbour, White Cliffs glistening in the sun” The first person to tell me what this crock of marketing excrement is describing wins a Gear4Music Acoustic Bass. It cost £89 a few years back and has been gathering dust (with the occasional wipe over) for most of them. Failing that free to a home (good or bad). (Mods - feel free to move to the appropriate forum if necessary)
  16. Pete bought a guitar stand from me. We arranged collection by a guitar-player friend who lives close by and everything worked like clockwork. Good communication throughout and a pleasure to do business with.
  17. Hercules stand in very good condition. Surplus to requirements. Price includes postage.
  18. Bridge (no mounting screws) and Control plate, knobs and pots from a Squier Vintage Modified Jazz Fretless Bass.

    feedback for Deedee

Just picked up a Stingray 4 HH from Dan's place; bass was ready to plug in and try out and everything was good 😀 . We chewed the fat about cars and bass for a while. Lovely guy to do business with and I can only echo the good things that have been said previously. Thanks Dan.
  20. Price Reduction £22. Two packs of MXR patch cables. Surplus to requirements. Free postage
