Yes, saw Hackett in York in 2019 followed soon after by ‘The Musical Box’ who were even better (in my opinion).

Have been listening to a lot of the old stuff recently, (up to Wind & Wuthering), having bought a bunch of synth plugins, so this is a morsel I wasn’t expecting. We know Collins is past it but they sound good and Iighting & visuals look interesting; not sure I’m drawn in enough to shell out £136 for a half-decent ticket for Leeds, but 40 years after the last time...damn, I don’t need this quandary.

Me too...especially having just done my tax return and now owe HMRC, ahem, a ‘few quid’ 😱
-
I spoke to S&T and they said that supply would be limited in 2021 so maybe they have hiked the price to stem the demand.

As per my earlier post I was looking to buy a special 5HH but not at these prices. I’m having an ACG built to my spec at the moment for substantially less than a Special. Not to everyone’s taste but if you’re not familiar with Alan’s work, check this out http://www.acguitars.co.uk/

Yes, rear routed and no scratchplates on these beauties; matching headstock. You’re right, it does look like some hefty leather. There wasn’t enough to do the back as well so that will be ‘plain old’ redwood 😉 with matching backplate. Expecting some pictures of the back from Alan. Shaun

Mine too. Just me, the waves and the wind...oh, and wall to wall books and records. At 18, I got the application form from Trinity House but was dissuaded by talk of increased automation. I’m also totally deaf in one ear so would have failed the medical.

Your best (and worst!) bass gear purchases of 2020?
skb558 replied to Al Krow's topic in General Discussion
If the definition of ‘worst’ includes ‘unwise’ then best and worst, respectively are:- Stingray Special - lighter, more headroom and, to my neophyte ears, having only owned a couple of Stingrays prior to this one, more than capable of that ‘tone’. On to the ‘unwise’; Roscoe Century Standard Fretless; beautiful instrument, lovely fretless sound but an impulse purchase that I know is not getting or going to get the use it deserves. ‘A fool and his money...’ 🙄 -
