1. So, I've got a Ashdown CTM100 valve head here and all of a sudden it starts making crackling noises and then squealing. The VU meter is going nuts and has it's little pointer up about half way. Could this be a Power Tube that's gone? I have a new set of tubes here, but I don't want to put them in if I'm just going to find that they blow straight after I've biased them.
2. Still waiting on mine, should be ready soon I hope!
3. If I can get rid of a guitar or a bass, this SVT is insanely tempting like. No idea how I'd get it up the stairs though! I need to employ a roadie!
4.
8x10's are near impossible to sell these days. We recently sold a brand new Hartke for £195 and were pleased to get that much for it!
Can imagine why, everything seems to be lightweight these days.
5.
Very old post I know. Contacted the shop. Head and cab are still there, no change in the price. Head is LOUD Technologies, Korea. Cab is Vietnam.
What's the cab and what's the ohmage? Did you find out?
6.
I feel a third Maruszczyk order forming...
Same, getting rid of some stuff to fund a new one...
7. Been looking at one of these for a while, nice to hear someone has a good report about one!
8.
I played the Elwood 5 Jazz last night. I may withdraw it from the BC for sale/trade section. It really is fantastic
I spotted that the other night, it's a beautiful bass.
9. Still waiting on mine. Hope it's a good looking bass, but knowing Adrian it will be.
10. I've got nothing except praise for Adrian. He emailed me at 11PM GMT to tell me that my Jake was ready also, very good guy to deal with.
11. Welp, took the Jake to a practice for the first time in ages. Louder and a lot more rounded than my Fender... Going back and forth between them, I prefer this one for live use certainly! Both phenomenal basses though.
12. Been about 12 weeks, looking forward to seeing that Sofa shot!
13. Are these going to be the new Maruszczyk basses I wonder? Seriously though, looks fabulous. I want one.
14.
I seem to remember that the speaker gurus at Trace lived the "sound" of MDF over ply. Maybe that preference transferred to Ashdown?
Interesting, any reason for why they'd use MDF over Plywood? From my guitar days, I got the impression that MDF wasn't as good of a wood and muddied the sound somewhat.
15.
Can't be long now. Tell you, the wait after the sofa shot seems long too as you are almost there!
Yeah, I hope it doesn't get delayed like my first one did! I don't mind though, looking forward to it!
16. Eleven weeks into my build. Hope to hear something soon, placed an order on 22nd of August, so it's been a wait.
17. Courier is booked for it. Thanks for your help Gents!
18.
Is this the one on Facebook? For £90 I think it's a good cab, I think it'll be ply but could be wrong
It is indeed Merton, you'll find I'm the top comment on it. I'm probably going to do it!
19. Seller says Bluelines are in it, It'll cost about 90 for the entire thing, thoughts?
20.
My first cab was an old MAG410 with celestion drivers and a ply cab, it was brilliant and I regret selling it because the Trace cabs which took its place weren't nearly as good IMO. If it's an early UK made I think you'll find it IS ply, they were made from 12mm ply before moving out to a China I believe
The only thing it says on it is "Made in the UK" Does that mean it is a UK made one? I'm assuming so, but I don't want to be wrong on this.
21.
Not the last time I looked. The abm series gets the ply. The mag doesn't.
Think I'll pass on this then and continue on to save for the ABM then!
22.
I had a latter mag 410 although not the most efficient cab, It was well built and had a pleasant tone. I think if its in half decent Nik and under £100 if not less then there not a bad cab at all. And I have a little bit of experience with various ashdown stuff and to me the older British built cabs are built better they seem to skimp on the glue on the latter cabs from what I've seen and also the particle board on the British mags is of better quality that's from having a good look at them.
Wait, so these aren't Plywood?
23.
Yes, the first 4-5 years of the MAG series were all Uk made
Sweet, will say yes to that then. My CTM 100 requires a 410.
24. Got the chance to buy an Ashdown cab for a silly price. Seller claims it's a UK made MAG 410. Did Ashdown ever make one of these?
25. Any word of a release date? I want one!
