1.
I don't think a Disturbed thread would be complete without https://youtu.be/66gSvNeqevg
Was wondering why I hadn't posted this.
2.
You did say 'school me', so: it's not 'ohmage', it's 'impedance'.
I thought the terminology was one and the same? So I could use both depending on context.
Given your desire for full-bandwidth clarity (and depending on your budget), I'd consider something from Aguilar, Bergantino or Barefaced. Though you may also like to consider trying a different amp, too... *opens can of worms*
Will have a look at those, Barefaced I was looking at. Specifically the Retro 2X10 but I fear a 2X10 won't have enough oomph for what my band play however.
3.
Well you say that your current cab is "fantastic" so why are you looking to change it ? without knowing that its a bit hard to offer advice on possible upgrades. To answer your other general question: bass cab design is a lot more scientific than guitar cab design, bass cabs have more in common with hifi and PA speakers than they do with guitar cabs. The sound of guitar cabs tend to be dominated by drivers which are often designed to distort and heavily colour the sound at typical usage volume levels, whereas bass cabs are typically design to be more transparent and its as much about the enclosure design as the driver.
I mean it's fantastic for the price range, going to edit it in now. Wording not great sorry. It's just I'm finding it a bit too... Well, wooly in the lower ranges and it sounds a tad muffled to me and was wanting a touch more mids too, I've got an EQ pedal but it doesn't seem to help it much. I haul my own gear, but it's not a problem as I've got a trolly to lift stuff.
4. Hey guys, I'm looking at an upgrade to my cab and I'm currently using a Harley Benton 410. Which in itself is a fantastic cab for the price point and very frequency neutral. I'm wanting to buy a new cabinet to match my Orange Bass Terror 500 and eventually own an OB1-500 or an AD200 aswell. So I'm thinking, Orange do a 410. That's reasonably priced and Orange, so it looks like a good fit. I'm just wanting to know the basics and expand my knowledge on cabs, how similar is it to guitar cabs aside from plugging in the cab to the amp and matching the ohmage? Is there a lot more to it, in terms of the construction influencing the sound at all? Pretty new to all this! Thanks!
5.
Grand Magus. One of my favourite bands, metal or otherwise. Why they aren't as big as Maiden is beyond me. The Sword. First two albums are excellent.
Grand Magus are ace, I'm also recommend Cauldron, White Wizzard, Neonfly and Striker from Canada. +1 about the Sword. Laughed at the Nickleback of Metal comment though, thanks for making my dull day better guys.
6. Got gas for a P in LPB. can't actually afford it now I'm committed to buying something else!
7. Will check fundage and get back to you tomorrow on this, if I've got enough I'll take it. Know it's a silly question but it is ok for standard tuning, right?
8. Really tempted by this, gonna have to check funds first. Would you post?
9. Sorry guys, was just wanting to make sure there were things I could do if my Orange is making the cab distort or anything, I'm assuming back off bass and turn it down? That was the question I was trying to get out. I'm really sorry about my wording!
10. So I'm playing a show in a couple of months, one of the other bands has offered to share a bass cab. Any advice on this? I'm going to be plugging in my Orange Bass Terror and just wanted some advice, even if it's a general don't do it. I've not had any details about the setup yet, but I'll update via a post and a edit here when I hear more about the cab.
11. How does it compare to the Japanese version? I'm tempted by this bass now!
12.
Here it is, nothing that special to look at but it plays nicely and sounds pretty good too considering its a cheap bass. James
Lovely, I'm playing Squiers live right now, not cause I can't afford other basses (I can) but they are just really, really solid Workhorses I don't see the point in taking out my expensive basses when they can get stolen/missing.
13. Not terribly, waking up to see the band talking about a mystery Youtuber that recorded it and uploaded a bit of the gig onto Youtube. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VFAesjkHUqo Sounds pretty solid, I'm wondering what his recording device was. (I never actually noticed a camera there) But I can't see a thing without my glasses on.
14. That is beautiful. I have a couple of P-Basses. Will upload one after I've played tomorrow!
15. Might be interested in this, depending on a few gear sales or whatever. Will let you know though.
16. That is absolutely beautiful.
17.
Seymour Duncan SPB-1.
Was going to say the same thing or surprisingly the SPB-4 but I think that might have too much mids for what the OP wants.
18. Pretty happy with what I'm using right now, however a couple of new pedals wouldn't go amiss for me. I've got everything else apart from a good cab and a more expensive bass. Got a rule that I'm not buying any more gear with cash till next year though, as I've pretty much got no money!
19. Will be ordering one of these bad boys later in the year when some personal stuff of eight or so years is out the way. The GAS is killing me!
20. Got gas for a Sandberg. Anyone know about them? All I know is that they're German but has anyone played one?

Help!
Cheers for replying Fisheth, I've had Squier's in the past (A JV Precision in the 80's and Precision Special in 2006) I think I'm gonna go with the Classic Vibe, and hope that the build quality is as good as their earlier CV models.
I got a couple of Squier's from Thomman quite recently, really good stuff. I use Thomman exclusively for almost everything new. They're customer support is brilliant also.
